The Butterfly Lounge MFC bar and dance club (open to everyone)

I used to love parkin when I lived in Sheffield.  Can't really get it in the south (though I have found it as part of a Yorkshire food hamper).  Might order one for myself.

Ekmek sounds interesting - what's it made of?

This self-indulgent sugar bomb comes in two different varieties. Ekmek Kataifi is crispy kataifi pastry covered in vanilla custard flavoured with mastiha (an aromatic resin), then stacked with whipped cream and sprinkled with chopped nuts and cinnamon. Ekmek Politiko is a bread pudding soaked in syrup with traditional kaimaki ice cream (often made with buffalo milk, this vanilla flavouring made with ground orchid root).

I've never tasted it, but I agree, it looks nice. :original:

Not a lover of custard in any form so I will give it a miss and stick to baklava.

I used to really dislike all custard until I tried my first vanilla slice and since then I really like it, either eaten hot or cold! 😅

I think my dislike before was down to really poor school dinners.

I'll happily try Ekmek and this one too it looks good! :licks_lips:

Christmas cake with a marzipan topping is my second favourite, I could eat that all year round! But you'll have to wait another 4 months before I share any here :naughty:

Not a fan of fruit cake, but I love marzipan, so I'll just snaffle some topping. :naughty:
