A friend recently informed me of The Blue Camel cafe in Nottingham, UK and this beauty is right outside the cafe! 😁

I can't tell if it's wearing wellies or socks, I'm hoping it's socks! 🧦  🐪

I only went on ebay to buy a jigsaw but ended up buying a camel from the same seller too! 😅

This is Ramel the Camel!

He's got a cute face!

(but why does he have a nose like a dog? 😆)

If you're wondering about the coke bottle, he's a collectable Coca Cola International plush representing Egypt!

(Coca Cola did a whole range of toys representing different countries).

I hope Mika has seen this thread and probably had a good laugh at it too! 😁

And I hope he has seen the birthday camel adoption by now, someone should really ask him at the next gig!

I'm wrong on both counts! Turns out this camel is wearing leg warmers! 😆

I don't have another picture of the camel itself but it's pretty clear from their logo!

When I went to a fair in Switzerland today, a camel with a cowbell would probably be pretty much the last thing I would have expected. :lmfao:

:lol3:

That seems an overly large cowbell... 🤔

What exactly is this? It looks like a giant advertisement poster to me and the camel looks to be smiling. Which makes me question what it could be advertising! :teehee:

You're right it is an advertisement! :thumb_yello:

For the new hummus with Tilsiter cheese. Switzerland and the Orient are to be united in culinary terms. By the way, I tried it. :biggrin2:

I have just been informed that this board game exists! 😁

(and now I really want to buy and play it)

camelup.thumb.jpg.4c0f22f13f79890774b28bc437d74c38.jpg

The whole point of the game is to make bets on which racing camel will win a quick race around a pyramid.

I wonder if the producers/writers of Tehu were playing this one day and thought "I've got it! I have a great idea for a movie!" 😁

Random but I thought I'd share some camels from video games!

In Pokemon there is Numel which evolves into Camerupt!

Camerupt can then 'Mega Evolve' to this Mega form:

So it basically goes from 1 hump, to 2 and back to 1! 😁

In the Animal Crossing series of games there is only one camel, Saharah!

She will come to your town/city/island selling carpets!

And finally in a new update for Minecraft, camels will be added to the game!

And yet this is the toy plush version of the Minecraft camel:

Yep, I'm confused by that one too! 😅

Sorry, I still owe you an answer. 🙈

No, it's made from cow's milk and it's lactose-free. :original:

Doesn't taste that much different from regular hummus, but if I had to choose, I'd probably go for regular hummus, I'd still have to get used to this taste. :teehee:

I'm so confused as to why the advertisement used a camel then! 😆

But even a camel couldn't get me to eat hummus....

Hummus is from the Orient and camels live in the Orient, that's the whole connection. 😅

Interesting info :camel2::camel3::camel2::camel3::camel2:

The largest population of camels in the wild, estimated in 2013 at 300,000 individuals increasing at roughly 10 per cent per year, is found in neither Arabia nor Mongolia, the traditional homelands of genuinely wild camels, but instead in the Australian desert. From the 1840s until the early 1900s, camels were imported into Australia principally for transportation purposes in the country’s hot, arid deserts. As technology advanced, however, the camels were no longer needed as much and, consequently, many were released or escaped into the desert, where they bred and thrived in a feral state.

Camels in Australia are feral, not wild. Feral animals are domesticated animals living in the wild after escaping domestication or captivity.

The only true wild camel as recognized by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), which controls the Red Book of Endangered Species, is Camelus ferus – the double-humped camel, which separated from any other form of camel over 700,000 years ago. As of 2017, there are only approximately 900–1,000 individuals in the wild in north-west China and south-west Mongolia, and the IUCN lists it as critically endangered.
