The little snippets I saw on social media and the pictures are just stunning. He absolutely filled that stage and the crowd was with him!!

yes, when I wrote 'that was quick', this is sadly, what I meant:(( I hoped that the Coachella team would let it stay on youtube maybe for at least a bit of time, but sadly not

Even if the live stream was delayed I enjoyed the half we saw, I felt bad his ears weren’t working again, he seems to be having trouble with that this tour

 

also the background gave me 2007/early mika vibes 

 

I hope we see more of his performance since the live stream cut after Grace Kelly

Really great show. Short but full of energy. I like Mika  performing in a day light 

I love LED screen behind showing beautiful images (by Yasmine I suppose).

Maybe we will see them in Italy during the Magic Piano arena gigs?

It's still possible to watch Mika's performance in the Coachella channel 2 livestream, just watched it.

 

Does anyone know what the whole setlist was? I hope Laura has filmed some of the other songs.

 

Love the animations, especially the fireworks!  And great performance, he did really well, despite all the technical problems.

Just watched it (in playback, it is available on the Coachella channel until Monday!) and he was absolutely fantastic!

LOVED the backdrop, in combination with his outfit it was just perfect. And he simply owned the stage, worked it from left to right and took the audience with him from the second song on. You could tell they had to warm up to him, but it didn’t take long 

And also how professional (and cheeky 😆) he was with the in-ears not working. He still sounded great and I think the audience didn’t notice a thing musically speaking. I’m glad it was resolved relatively quickly though, so he could continue stress free. 
 

The only thing I didn’t like, was that it only lasted 25 minutes! I would’ve loved to see it all!!

Below is a short piece from the Italian online press on Mika's performance yesterday.  Suggestions to improve the translation are welcome.

 

Valentina Clemente (journalist for Sky Italia) writes about Mika's performance at Coachella Day One ( https://tg24.sky.it/spettacolo/2022/04/16/festival-coachella-2022-oggi ):

 

"PRIMO SHOW: MIKA…E CHE SHOW!

Mika si conferma il performer che conosciamo: super. Ha aperto le danze sul main stage, il palco principale, dove dopo di lui si sono esibiti, tra gli altri, Princess Nokia, Ari Lennox, Anitta, Lil Ceasar e Harry Style [. . .] Con la sua “Relax, take it easy” si muove magicamente sul palco, e tutti battono le mani. E quando si sentono le primissime note di “Grace Kelly” l’artista fa impazzire tutti i presenti. Nonostante un piccolo problema tecnico all’inear – che condivide con il pubblico dicendo “non sento nulla dal mio auricolare, ma il tempo passa e io non voglio scendere da questo palco!” – Mika va avanti con il suo spettacolo e fa divertire e impazzire tutti quanti. La sua energia è incontenibile ed è bellissimo che anche il popolo di Coachella abbia potuto apprezzare questo artista magnifico. My translation:

“FIRST SHOW: MIKA...AND WHAT A SHOW! 

Mika proves himself to be the performer that we know: super. Despite a minor technical problem with the in-ear – which he shares with the audience saying “I can’t hear anything in my earpiece, but the clock is ticking and I won’t get off this stage!” – Mika goes ahead with his show, entertaining and electrifying  everyone. His energy is  irrepressible and it is wonderful that even  people at Coachella have had the opportunity to appreciate this fabulous artist. And to those who will be present at the festival next weekend:  don’t miss him, even if he plays at 3.40 pm, a time of day when, especially in the desert, you should avoid being in the sun. But Mika is worth it. So, bring your sunscream!”

 

Maybe the journalist meant  “sun cream/sunscreen.”  I also think there is a typo with the name “Lil Ceasar”; it probably should be “Lil Baby” and “Daniel Caesar.”
