Official Lyrics:

Lately I hit self-destruct It’s like my on switch can’t turn off

I’ve been up and down spinning round yo yo  never hit the ground  It’s just the name of the game

You can tell me once, tell me twice, go and take my own advice

And I’ve got no one to blame

Tell me  Who’s gonna love me now

Who’s gonna love me now

Who’s gonna want me now

Who’s gonna love me now

Who’s gonna love me in the morning

Who’s gonna love me in the night

Who’s gonna love me in the morning

Who’s gonna love me, Who’s gonna love me

Sold my halo for someone

Who needs wings when they're less fun

What’s a boy to do when he’s not shiny new

There’s newer ones on the scene

Nothing left to say, is this the price to pay for the man that I’ve been?

Tell me

Who’s gonna love me now

Who’s gonna love me now

Who’s gonna want me now

Who’s gonna love me now

Who’s gonna love me in the morning

Who’s gonna love me in the night

Who’s gonna love me in the morning

Who’s gonna love me, Who’s gonna love me

Who’s gonna love me now

Who’s gonna love me now

Who’s gonna want me now  Who’s gonna love me now

Who’s gonna love me in the morning

Who’s gonna love me in the night

Who’s gonna love me in the morning

Who’s gonna love me, Who’s gonna love me

I think there's an error in the lyrics: "who needs wings when THEY'RE less fun"

What I love the most is the fact that this song sounds even better live! :wub2:  I hope he'll keep it on the setlist, it's nice to hear such a beautiful ballad during a gig for a break from jumping.

Hope Mika sings it for both city gigs when he does his Magic Piano tour. That way everybody would get to hear it.

Yes, not to be the Grammar Police, but that drives me crazy! I've fixed it above (well, it was always right in my first attempt of the lyrics in the first post). :teehee:

I can't understand why it takes so many people to write a song these days.

Maybe even small contributions to a song need to be acknowledged in order to avoid lawsuits?

Yes, I guess that's the probable reason.

I've written a review for Anything's Possible after watching it at the weekend.

⚠️ Contains slight spoilers!!! ⚠️

So I've put it in hidden contents for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Spoiler

I watched Anything's Possible recently and I do really like the film. It does have that teen drama aspect which I wouldn't usually go for but the overall story of two young people just trying to get along with their lives was really endearing. The side characters felt a little lack luster, their characteristics seemed somewhat stereotypical of any "gen-z" film these days making any development of them feel slightly forced. However Kelsa (Eva Reign) and Khal (Abubakr Ali) were perfect as the leads. Watching the film I couldn't help but love these characters instantly. Abubakr is confident and cute, and Yasmin is fierce and powerful. Their scenes together pack in a lot of emotion that only makes you root for them all the more.
The main theme of the film is acceptance. It has a powerful message behind it which really isn't JUST about acceptance but also seeing and listening to people too. The story certainly sparks a well needed conversation around subjects that are still considered taboo. What does it really mean to be trans? Is going through transition really someone else's business? Do names really hold so much importance? These are all questions the film will leave you pondering and many more too. Everyone should watch this film at least once, if it helps others understand more about trans issues and rights then it's definitely worth it.
Another important aspect of the film is the pressure felt by young teens to always please others. This is only heightened thanks to the ever increasing demands of social media. Khal only wants to help Kelsa and puts things in perspective by saying "when you try to please everyone you only end up hurting the ones you love". A sentiment a lot of us can learn from.
The drama peaks half way through, with a somewhat predictable outcome but that's not to say the film doesn't have humour too. There's enough teenage awkwardness and very relatable family quirks that will have you laughing along with the characters too.
The soundtrack works well from beginning to end, each song snuggly fitted to complement the scenes. Billy Porter's own music is played more often than not, somewhat egotistical maybe, however I especially loved the sweet moment between Khal and his mum while Who's Gonna Love Me Now? (Mika) played in the background. Unfortunately not enough of this beautiful song was heard.
The film is a great starting point for anyone who wants to delve straight into LGBTQ+ media or, if you're looking for a feel good love story then this film will have you believing that Anything's Possible.

On release day, July 22nd, would it be a bit odd to get #YayWayne trending?

At the London gig Wayne Hector was there, the co-writer of the song, when Mika mentioned this someone in the audience shouted "Yay Wayne!" and Mika said it back, he thanked Wayne too.

Without Wayne's lyrics we wouldn't have such a beautiful song, it would be a nice touch for him on release day to get #YayWayne trending and for Mika to remember his performance at the Roundhouse! 🙂

How do we know that Wayne wrote the lyrics, did they say that somewhere?

To you and @TinyLove_CJ and anyone else who has watched the movie, do the lyrics relate to the story / a certain scene in sone way? This scene doesn't look related, but ofc I don't know the context.

Yes, if someone just adds 2 words or maybe even just is in the room when the song is written, they can be credited as a co-writer, to get a share when the song makes money. It can be helpful to get different opinions, different strengths together, to write a song. For example, a producer can be paid a certain fee that covers his contribution, or he can appear as a co-writer and get a certain percentage of the earnings.

Didn't Mika say in London that Wayne helped him with the lyrics? Or am I remembering wrong? 🤔

Explaining the scene would be a spoiler so again my answer is hidden here:

Spoiler

I think the lyrics do relate to the scene because Khal and Kelsa have a huge argument after he shares one of her personal youtube videos on a public forum and the whole school sees it.

(Technically they're not private but Kelsa doesn't share them at school, the videos are about her transition)

He's just trying to help her through a tough time but she doesn't want to be "saved" or "protected", she just wants to be herself, so Khal sharing the video only backfires on him.

After their argument each of their parents find out about the videos. Khal's parents have quite a conservative attitude (regarding how their children should be and who they should date) but it's his mum who eventually comes round to listening to him. Khal thinks him and Kelsa are definitely over so he rushes to hide in his room, that's when WGLMN begins to play when his mum comes in to comfort him. It's only very short but it does fit the scene.
