Would that actually be the Voice recording? It’s filmed earlier. As the view of the first performances, not as the timeline we see them.

i somehow missed this thread?!

excellent thread idea @PoodleSnow! I do love a good Mika list :teehee:

When i get some time I'll check into the info i have on mikapedia and let you know if I find anything of interest.

One thing i did spot is this EMILY - 6 August 2011 Das festival, Schaffhausen, Switzerland, is Elle Me Dit in English (lyrics here). At least i don't consider it to be Emily at all, since the lyrics are a much more literal translation than Emily and he doesn't sing the word 'emily' in it at all. He's never actually done Emily live before.

Ok, so i took your list and alphabetized it (cuz that's how i am lol), then added in the info other people have posted in this thread. Then I went through the Mika encyclopedia, added the missing songs and the earliest live performance dates that i know of. Found a couple from TBWKTM i forgot to get exact dates for, and one that's totally wrong in the mikapedia.

It's really late and i need to sleep, so i haven't looked up videos yet.

*I purposely didn't add any songs from his first album since the earliest performances of those are hard to really know and would be super hard to confirm.

@Kumazzz Do you know what happened with Keep it simple and Voice? Was it just a photo and not a performance?

The first performance was at The Voice on 18 January 2023, it will broadcast on The Super Cross Battle ( probably 13 May 2023 )

The second LIVE performance was at "Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes" on 25 January 2023.

You did an amazing job with this @kreacher! I just wanted to add my 2cents to a few of the entries that I think need to be corrected or clarified a bit.

Following along your well-organized alphabetical list:

I believe the first time Mika did J'ai Pas Envie on TV was on the Penelope McQuade show in Montreal in July 2015. I remember watching it in my hotel room, couldn't believe I was actually seeing Mika on TV! (That almost never happens in the US!)

It's not the whole song, but you can see about 30 seconds of Mika performing No Place in Heaven at the Montreal Jazz Festival on July 5, 2015 here:

I saw One Foot Boy live on October 16, 2009 in New York -- I think he just started performing it during that 1955 Tour, so the first  night of the tour, October 12, was probably the first time he ever did it live.

I think it might be the same for Pick Up Off the Floor -- the earliest video I know of is this one, from October 12, 2009, in Toronto, at the start of the tour.

Promiseland WAS done at Cattolica on July 25, 2015, as the Mikapedia says. I don't think it was done earlier - I remember telling Mika in early July that he should add it to the set list, we were all saying that, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't done live before then. Here's a video:

Talk About You WAS done the first time at the May 3, 2015 performance at Verboten as you say. I found this video:

He performed Touches You earlier than October 23, 2009. I think you just have the date wrong -- It was Toronto, but it was October 12, 2009:

Ah what an amazing tread! It's great to have all the dates collected in one place.

Thank you for all the hard work  I'm really not an internet person but my.. I'm starting to really like this forum.

I can confirm that Promiseland was done for the very first time at Cattolica. I'm aslo pretty sure that he performed Staring at the sun  in that gig, too (So, 5 days before the Swiss Estivale).

I remember because I had a terrible experience going in (I got heatstroke from queuing in the sun and there was so much pushing and shoving at the entrance that it became a bit dangerous and I almost left), but I endured it and afterwards I was so happy and thinking that it had all been worth it and I couldn't believe I'd almost missed two new songs!

If we're talking concert performances.. then yes, the kickoff for the 1955 tour in Oct 09 at Toronto  is your date.

However, I saw Pick up off the floor (one of my all-time favorite songs) a bit earlier,  in late September. We went to BBC building in white city for a program and he performed it there (he did just a couple of songs).

The show was being recorded (not live) but there was a small audience of around two or three hundred (most of whom were Shakira fans, as she sang there, too). The program (Later With Jools Holland) aired in early October.. there must be a video of it somewhere... (¿?)

Ironically, the first time I saw "one foot boy" was in LA :teehee: but I didn't notice he was injured until the encore..

Joining Jools for the third show of this series is Mika, who originally made his TV debut on the show back in 2006 and went on to sell six million copies of his debut album.

Legendary 'Empress of Soul' Gladys Knight, whose career spans 50 years and has taken in stints at Motown, Buddah, an array of Grammy Awards and owning a chain of chicken and waffle restaurants, is on the show to perform a number or two from her stellar back catalogue.

Wakefield's The Cribs, who, with new member Johnny Marr, have just released their brand new album Ignore The Ignorant, return to play tracks from that.

Colombian-born superstar Shakira is making her debut on the show, performing tracks from her upcoming album She Wolf.

Making their TV debut are hotly tipped Putney-based foursome The XX, whose self-titled debut was released to critical acclaim in August 2009. Finally, the lo-fi country-soul sound of trio The Duke and the King, three songwriting drummers from New York, who have discovered songwriting and harmony singing, and appear introducing their acclaimed debut album Nothing Gold Can Stay.

Jai Pas Envie: In the mikapedia I list TV performances separately from live performances. I had the Penelope McQuade show listed in the TV line, and "The first time at a concert was on June 9, 2015 in Paris, France" in the live performances line, but for some dumb reason I had listed The Voice 2016 performance in the live performances line too and that's what I copy & pasted here

NPIH: he played the jazz festival on the 4th and 5th, and definitely did NPIH on the 4th. I checked the report thread and ppl confirm it in their reports. Found a video of the show:

Touches You: lol typo, derp.

Thank you for this info about SATS, it'll be fixed in my next Mikapedia update!

Found this video

I had the PUOTF @ jools holland info in the TV performmances line. So cool you got to witness that live!

That's because it happened during the encore i think. It was definitely during Love Today, and he tends to do that one toward the end of the show, no?

Is there a possibility to have multiple people who can run a topic and make the changes fot the bio? I’m not going to be able to keep this running this summer and we are waiting a lot new content in future?

I don't think multiple people can run a thread, but Mods are able to edit the first post so between us (hopefully) we can keep it updated.

Thanks. I keep trying and it will be easier with new music anyways when it can be done in real time.

And about the wondering which first performance… My original idea includes everything with audience. Recordings, gigs etc. The first reflections with the audience.

To those awesome people who have supported this project. Simplicity with presenting your foundings would be really helpful for me. This is my second language and I’m dyslexic. I got little confused with some timelines even its interesting background information.

I really got into working tonight and the list is checked up to this point. I'm specially sad that Origin of love (at Nibe Festival in Denmark on July 4th 2012) seems to be gone from the internet. I've seen a lot of broken  links to it and people are saying that they had problems with the audio.
