Cautionary Wife
Here's a Press quote: From: THE SCOTSMAN Cheesy and crackers, but rather moreish 2 Feb 07 In fact, Mika most resembles Scissor Sisters in his ability to thieve gleefully, yet still produce a song which is worthy in its own right and, like his New York brothers and sister, his party face shields a more vulnerable core. Behind the stealthy disco exterior of former single Relax, Take it Easy is a lyric inspired by the emotional void after the July 2007 London bombings. I had heard or read about the connection some time ago, before the Press started to wrongly say the song had 'gay' meanings - that 'where no one ever goes' was something forbidden, and remember at the time thinking 'what utter claptrapp'. Kata
I just remember it was mentioned in that Bohemian Rhapsody article, but I don't know if it's just a conclusion they came to or if Mika actually said it
Sarah_Lou
Did you also know that the intro and some of the tune for the song is inspired by the Eighties power ballad 'I just Died in Your Arms Tonight'. You can listen to it here and see the resemblance. http://www.radioblogclub.com/open/112402/i_just_died_in_your_arms_tonight/Cutting%20Crew%20-%20I%20Just%20Died%20In%20Your%20Arms%20Tonight (Just click the link and it plays automatically) I've always loved that song, but I love Relax.. even more! Mika is such a genius.

daisylou
Sorry Freddie but now its me thats the genius but have no way of proving it.So you can keep your crown for now hun! When I first heard the cd I said to my husband (the one who doesn`t really want to see MiKA-yes he is mad! ) that it was a sample from the Cutting Crew but he just said "oh really that`s nice" but a couple do sound a bit like the Scissor Sisters but are just his take on his music I guess. xx
Steph
Hey everyone. I read somewhere that Relax is about the July 7 attacks? Anyone know if this is true? just for you, so that you can go over the words again with the event in mind,..... You know that when something affects him he sits down there and then and writes about it .. Sadly people miss the point with his music , they should WAKE UP and see beyond their stereotyping.... message to the press: Give Mika a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! here are the words: Took a right to the end of the line Where no one ever goes. Ended up on a broken train with nobody I know. But the pain and the (longings) the same. (Where the dying Now I'm lost and I'm screaming for help.) Relax, take it easy For there is nothing that we can do. Relax, take it easy Blame it on me or blame it on you. It's as if I'm scared. It's as if I'm terrified. It's as if I scared. It's as if I'm playing with fire. Scared. It's as if I'm terrified. Are you scared? Are we playing with fire? Relax There is an answer to the darkest times. It's clear we don't understand but the last thing on my mind Is to leave you. I believe that we're in this together. Don't scream - there are so many roads left. Relax, take it easy For there is nothing that we can do. Relax, take it easy Blame it on me or blame it on you. Relax, take it easy For there is nothing that we can do. Relax, take it easy Blame it on me or blame it on you. Relax, take it easy For there is nothing that we can do. Relax, take it easy Blame it on me or blame it on you. Relax, take it easy For there is nothing that we can do. Relax, take it easy Blame it on me or blame it on you. It's as if I'm scared. It's as if I'm terrified. It's as if I scared. It's as if I'm playing with fire. Scared. It's as if I'm terrified. Are you scared? Are we playing with fire? Relax Relax

LollipopGirlSian
Hey everyone. I read somewhere that Relax is about the July 7 attacks? Anyone know if this is true? Wow really? I never knew that! But now I do, I can totally see it in the lyrics. Woo another random fact about July 7 to annoy my mates with. Cos about a year ago, I was going round for weeks saying 'Did you know that Gary Barlow from Take That helped rescue people on July 7th?'. Its amazing how much of a contribution even the most famous of people can have when something terrible like that happens.
