For the straight guys as well as the gay girls it would probably change as much as if he had a girlfriend (homophobics excluded, of course) For the gay guys: new hope on one hand, on the other hand probably a little patience is needed (relationships tend to be temporary betimes ) For the straight girls: less hope but hope dies last and a liking for boys does not entirely exclude the possibilty of a potential future girlfriend, am I right? Bisexual boys and girls can choose from the alternatives mentioned above. Basically, girlfriend, boyfriend, melon or avocados - none of them should prevent anybody from (day)dreaming.
