MIKA,

I hope you are able to take some time to enjoy the city

-- more than just a drive through . . .

I can recommend a good walking tour --

http://www.WalkoftheTownDC.com/

'cause TIM, the tour guide, is my brother!

There are links to a plethora of popular sites on his website.

PS: If you want to pick me up before the big event,

direct the driver straight out MASS. AVE. to 'Spring Valley' OK?

MIKA, Really hope you can see some things

outside of the convention center while you're in the DC area.

There are some wonderful performance venues here,

I would love for you (or your peeps) to be able to check out some while in D.C.

. . . for planning purposes for your career.

Three come to mind worthy of thinking about

. . . for every phase of your career from

early- to mid- to late- in the order above!

BTW:

WOLFTRAP is in nearby Virginia & is a National PARK!

~MY TRUE SECRET SERVICE SECURITY STORY~

For years I worked at a large Retirement Community for Military people --the AFRH--

situated on many fenced acres of land with it's own security force.

Associated with a "White House Letter Writing Program" at the AFRH, where the retirees helped the White House manage mail sent to the first pet at the time, Barbara Bush was scheduled to visit residents and employees one monday morning.

The Pharmacy area of the Health Care Facility was the designated place for the reception.

Even though the Secret Service had thoroughly checked everything the previous weekend,

I observed a security agent walking toward the First Lady--just ahead of a gaggle of employees--stomp his foot on the peddle of one of those small top-pop-up trash cans and peer in . . .

REALLY HAPPY 'BOUT THIS, MIKA!

"Barack Obama has asked Mika to perform

at an event he is hosting in Washington tonight.

The President,

who has organised the annual Human Rights Campaign National Dinner,

will give a speech on lesbian and gay rights before

Mika performs to a specially invited audience of 3,000."

And . . .

President Barack Obama will make his second appearance as president at the Human Rights Campaign dinner, and will deliver the keynote address. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will be presented with the National Ally for Equality Award for his advocacy on marriage equality in New York State.

“This has been a remarkable year in the fight for LGBT equality,”

said HRC President Joe Solmonese.

“We’re thrilled to be joined by national leaders and inspiring artists as we celebrate our victories and redouble our efforts for the fights that remain ahead.”

Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), who is running for the U.S. Senate,

will also be a featured speaker.

Entertainment will be provided by Cyndi Lauper and Greyson Chance, who is the first artist to be signed to Ellen DeGeneres’ record label, eleveneleven.

Pop singer Mika will also give a full concert for the event’s after-party.
