i live on the southshore of montreal, about 11km from the big city.

i live in a town called Chateauguay, population approx. 42000

to go to montreal, we have to drive through an indian reserve called kahnawake. they have very beautiful arts and crafts there, all hand made. it is definitely worth a trip.

 

Language Population Percentage (%)

French only 27,285 - 65%

English only 10,710 - 25.52%

Both English and French 395 - 0.94%

Other languages 3,580 8.53%

This is La Lanterna, the symbol of the City

 

It is the main lighthouse for the city's port. Besides being an important aid to night navigation in the vicinity, the tower serves as a symbol for the City of Genoa, and is one of the oldest standing structures of its kind in the world. The lighthouse is 249 feet (76 m) tall[1], and is constructed in two square portions, each one capped by a terrace; the whole structure is crowned by a lantern from which the light is shone.
