Ugh, I'll come back later (after talk of Mika-seeing is over and done with...) :wink2:

What do you think of Mindnight Youth's new one "Cavilry?"

i dont like midnight youth :dunno:

maybe its because i saw them live a year and a half ago and they sucked..

maybe its because i know the members of the band spent thousands of dollars they didnt have to vote for themselves, thats why they did well in the charts and got known .. tbh i have no respect for bands who do that :roftl:

I think they suck too. The letter sucked worse than Walser sucking eggs after the train explosion of St Petersbourg!

If you don't know what I'm on about, I sugest you read Angela Carter's "Nights at the Circus" (M's fave book).

OMG they did that?

Ugh, that's just not right!

I think I'll end up famous and nominated for some award, forget to vote for mmyself and spend all my time voting for Mika :roftl:

Wait, how'd you know that about MY?

I dont know what you're on about!! Lol I'll be sure to check it out. I'm going to the library tommazzah after school anywho..

You know I'm good mates with a couple of the guys in Kingston, right? Well their manager Tim was the bassist in Steriogram (you know the song walkie talkie man) and knows them quite well through his connections.

When Kingston was trying to push 'round we go' one of the guys from kingston said to me 'I almost feel like cheating like midnight youth' and i was like 'huh?' and he told me the whole story :roftl:

I'm also 15. I'm almost finished level one (for 5 or yr11) and only just a couple weeks ago completed a 12 credit assignment in art!

OMG it wasrediculous!

I only just managed to pass level 1 math (I'm REALLY bad!), I've got credits for everything there is to get so far in French and drama and I've only failed one assignment in art as in science.

My worst subjects are english and math though I love writing and reading, I just hate the subject just like Art!

I draw but I hate the subject because I feel like I'm being strangled and both teachers are no-hopoers! :roftl:

How did the rest of us do in exams???

I got excellence in everything in art, Merits and excellences in english, i failed science, merits in geography, achieves in PE .. I think thats everything?

I know! That is weird!

I do really well at biology. See, next year I'm taking english (compulsary), media studies, health (nothing else to choose from that I could do), drama, French and IT.

What are you doing?

My exams are in November at the same time that Mika's in Oz. I have French first and I'm FREAKING though I got realy good marks in my French mocks (best marks of all subjects).

I passed all my exams except for math which I failed miserably. The only thing I actually passed was Probability with merrit :roftl:

All exept Roro and Luke (who never comes here anymore).

I did wellish in my mocks but in all, I have 43 recorded credits.

I say recorded because last time I checked was mid of last term. Since then, Ive got credits in French and Drama that I know of.

2 or 3 in French and 8 in Drama (I passed 2 assignments in one night!).

Actually, it was really cool but stressful. We had to record a weekly log of our work and that work was writing and performing an/several acting role in a 10-20 minute play with a group (first assignment) and performing a technical role (lights, sound, costume etc) for another group in the same show (second assignment).

By the end I'd done really well but I had no book work because I was all caught up in the acting. My friend Emily had logs for almost every week and I made all mind up from memory. In the end, I got credits for my very detailed bookwork and she didn't because hers wern't detailed enough!!!

Only thing is that I hate science but I'm one of the good ones in the class!

My TA continues to push for me to do bio next year but with my sight, the only thing I could possbly do with bio is become a bio teacher and I don't even think I could do THAT because of sight restrictions!

She made the argument that IT and media studies were kind of useless to me then.

Which I said was WRONG because as an aspiring entertainer, it's important to know about computers so I can make my own websites and have a clear understanding of what makes a good music video and how to direct and deal wit behind the scenes action as well!

Thanks! I tend to go on a bit, sorry :blush-anim-cl: I was always a particularly bright student until I got to third primary school and people started bullying me and I started focusing more on how I appear to people than my education.

Now I'm mediocre in school but I always get good marks because I spent so much time pretending to be something I'm not and so it's not a stretch to pretend like I care about things I don't so teachers just think I'm a bit hopeless but bubbly and always trying.

That's sometimes the truth, don't get me wrong :bleh:

I was in the major production earlier this ear!

I played a cranky old alcaholic woman in a hairdressing salon and now all these year 8s come up to me at orientation and call me miss grumpy and I get angry because it's miss CRANKY! :furious::roftl:

Really? I don't find drama assessments scary at all. I always achieve but I'm a great student because I'm good at writing (so for scripts and ideas) and acting because my voice is loud and audible and I have feeling (because of my music which needs articulation, volume, apropriate pitch and a fair bit of communication of believable emotion). :wink2:

I live in New Zealand and so do Charlotte (racinghorses over there *points to Char*) and Rosina (rosinakiwi) and also LemonaideTastesLikeLemons who doesn't post much but she goes to my school Wink2:

I'm not taking art next year. I was discouraged because of my lack of drawing skill (actually I'm very specialised and already have artistic motifs so I can't be bent and moulded into their creative drone like they'd prefer so they lable me less talented than mindless zombie students who need teachers to think up their barriers so they can think of predictable and boring ideas).

Ugh! Self portraits! I did one in wood carving last year and flat out REFUSED to be photographed properly (kept my hair in my face, turned away, closed my eyes, held things up :das:) until the teacher gavve up and let me use my own picture. I just happened to have my LICM cd at the time (I carried it round with me for some time a bit like a blankie :blush-anim-cl) and I used the picture of him in the fluffy coat just on the inside of the cover (not the one with the tea cup, I mean the really close up one with half his face in the dark) and it came out BEAUTIFULLY! :wub2:

As you can see, I have an artistic temperament, I'm a cynic (some say pessimist, I like to think "Realist") and I am VERY passionate about my chosen areas of work!

What do you want to do when you leave school?

My Granddad was a French and latin teacher when he and his wife lived in Samoa (I'm quarter Samoan on my mother's side) so I guess I'm ok in the subject :wink2:

The main reason I took french in year nine was because my TA said economics (my current chosen fourth subject) was not really a very "Khayla subject" so she said I could do French, home economics (cooking), something else that I didn't really like, or music.

I was going to make an informed descission then went to the music HOD who didn't even wait to hear what I had to say after "I was thinking of doing music..." before looking me up and down and saying I would be better off doing French.

Jerk.

So I did French, not because of him but because I was writing a book based in France and because Mika spoke French and there were all these interviews I didn't understand which made me feel like this: :furious:

So I did french to understand him mainly :roftl:

OK, so when I reply to you I tend to have to re-read through your writing because I too, have a lot to say. I can definitely relate to you with the subject of bullying as that has happened to me too; mostly when I was younger but probably didn't recognize it as such.

Some little things people do or say really get to me; even just the little stuff can mean a lot more in terms of wanting to affect the victim- sorry if my train of thought is a bit hard to follow.

I'm pretty much in the highest class for my year and do pretty well, i do get stressed out sometimes or totally mess up in french; which i get down about. I think learning another language is really difficult! haha! Hopefully I will get there eventually! possibly the fact that i want to do well and be one of the best doesn't help at times!

I too was in the major production- the wizard of oz, in chorus though. I got to be a munchkin and a beautician. we have a really big school- i go to Burnside high in Christchurch? may have heard of it, or maybe not. *shrug*

next year i will be old enough to audition for a main role :D *manic grin*

Sorry, what i said earlier may have come out all wrong. i don't find drama assessments particularly scary etc but it is better if the group you work with are cooperative! everything about the process envelopes me in! i love performing, rehearsing, all that jazz!

it is bad that the teachers discouraged you! although you are still taking some of the subjects you wanted i assume :) i know what you mean about portraits! gahhh! and the day we had the photos taken i was looking a mess! i wanted one with my hair out but NO! we couldn't have that!

haha! your mika portrait sounds wonderful, if only i had come up with a similar brilliant idea!

I have struggled to try and decide what i want to do when i leave school- although i really want to take classical studies and media studies in year 12. maybe something related to drama etc.

my parents dont really think acting is a good career....

what do you think>

what are some of the ideas you have about leaving school? what do you want to do hehe?

sometimes i think i didn't make the most of the opportunities i had, but now i am focusing on now and the future :) i sound so mature haah! he does sound like a jerk! and now that i know about Mika speaking french... well.... haha! <3

awh! whoever would say such a thing? haha! i live in christchurch and it's pretty alright! cold maybe but a nice wee world,. even though we are down the bottom haha!

I LOVE christchurch! :wub2:

I'm totally going! I've been saving to see Mika since '07.. I can afford it now :naughty: can't freakin' wait..

Need I remind you we have also been trying to get him here since 2007! I CANT WAIT EITHER!

Nope; I'm from the mighty Waikato :wink2: born and bred yaaah i'm a true savage! :roftl:

I'm totally going! I've been saving to see Mika since '07.. I can afford it now :naughty: can't freakin' wait..

Its ok, next time wont be far away. we are hoping that he comes here after he sees at least 2 fans fly over from new zealand to see him.

and I undrstand, I have been waiting since '07 and I was totally gutted I couldnt go last time they went to australia!

maybe you want to organise for one of the ausies...or one of us kiwis that are going, to give him something from you?

How old are you? I'm 15, just finishing level 1 in school :thumb_yello:

I'm 15 too! haha, coincidence! so, level one is like form what? or year what> 10?

I'm also 15. I'm almost finished level one (for 5 or yr11) and only just a couple weeks ago completed a 12 credit assignment in art!

Um...*Feels OLD!* I was 15 six years ago!

what are some of the ideas you have about leaving school?

Having already left school I can say is do what you want to do! I didnt know what I wanted to do till 4th term in 7th form (year 13). If you want to do acting work at it! Acting is worth it if you want it bad enough!

A job that you enjoy doesnt feel so much like a job!

I know what you mean about the bullying. I'm half blind so I get a lot of close minded people giving me crap. I'm really weird though besides that. I talk funny (my accent's a bit all over the place), I'm funny looking and have a very distinctive walk so I get bullied for it now and also for my belifs.

I do ok in school. I get by. I've got a good personality so teachers like me :original:

Are you not allowed to play a lead if you're young?

I was a semi lead in our production and the leads were all my age or thereabouts...

Arg! I HATE bad groups!

But I've been fortunate. The first group I had consisted of 2 other girls. They didn't like my bloodthirsty and adult style and ideas. The only things I was to contribute were the names of the three little pigs (pork, ham and bacon :roftl:), the tralor park mother with a new boyfriend (so she kicked the kids out), the pigs eating the wolf at the end after he attempts to come down the chimney and gets killed in the fire AND my voice.

The next group was me and my twistedness, Georgy orgy :das:, Emz and her overmodesty and Ryan with his rangy bro town themed voices.

That was the most sexually, racially and just downright offensive play in the class with a chicken scene, racial steriotypes, innuendos, racist and sexist jokes and bad language!

I played characters called "Slutty Michelle" "Mate" "Celine smyth" and "gasngster girl with bad Maori/Polynisian accent"

There was the clown play. I was a genderless clown and modest Emily and I were doing ok but our third member was a constant issue, never showing up and never doing any work when she was there.

The last thing I did was Hansel and Gretel (and Lezel). It was with the bad member, modest Emily, Georgy Orgy and Ryan. That was brilliant and - Again - Quite on-the-edge but now people were expecting it and it was better recieved because people expected us to be offensive and embraced it.

I want to act, sing, write, dance burlesque, pin up model, design clothes, direct and do art. I want to ENTERTAIN!!!

Yeah, I'm glad to do things I like. Music and art arn't the best things ever. I don't need them to be good at them :wink2:

What are you good at?

Its ok, next time wont be far away. we are hoping that he comes here after he sees at least 2 fans fly over from new zealand to see him.

and I undrstand, I have been waiting since '07 and I was totally gutted I couldnt go last time they went to australia!

maybe you want to organise for one of the ausies...or one of us kiwis that are going, to give him something from you?

Having already left school I can say is do what you want to do! I didnt know what I wanted to do till 4th term in 7th form (year 13). If you want to do acting work at it! Acting is worth it if you want it bad enough!

A job that you enjoy doesnt feel so much like a job!

I was hoping I could send you or Charlotte a letter for him if you wouldn't mind?

I agree fullheartedly about the acting. Don't settel, don't give up and do what your parents want you to do. My mother wants me to finish school and go on to University but for all the wrong reasons.

I believed she cared about my education before she started to hurt me with her constant blackmail (the reason I can't see Mika) and before she told me to do all these things in Uni that I obviously HATED (psychology, management, law... Nothing you could see me doing in a million years!).

(i've been a fan sincei was 13 now though. :naughty: )

and khayla, thatnks for your help with my health assesment.. you were up late as last night!

I've been a fan since 12 (February '07 :wink2:)

No problem but as I said, don't thank me till you get your results :roftl:

Was it good help then do you think?
