Music in your country

Oh wow, that's awful... I listened to like 20 seconds of it and had to click out of it! :roftl: Luckily, in my part of the US people don't really listen to stuff like that. Mostly, they listen to hip hop and rap, country, and their own band 'cause just about EVERYONE has their own band! It's so annoying, lol. People always come up to me and say hey, check out our band! and I'd really like to say no, you're band is horrible but I wouldn't want to crush their dreams 'cause I'm sure they'd really care what someone like me who is musically challenged has to say! :roftl:

yeah, everyone i know has thier own band too. alot of them sound like that.

but i have a confession...

i use to like it. i bought that bands first cd. now i can't stand it i guess something just clicked.

hehe i don't mind hip hop it's fun to dance too! but it's not my favorite.

Wow, what a great thred!!!

Concerning Slovenia, Anabelle, I think you forgot to mention Gušti in Polona! :wink2:

(their first hit)

Dan D

(in co-operation with Siddharta, a group Anabelle already mentioned)

(in co-operation with Polona Kasal)

_________________________________________________________________

And here's another one you simply have to see:

Damjan Murko

http://www.vecer.com/blog/kokosnjak?id=13664

  :roftl:

Well, I hope you realize I don't like this kind of music, but I simply had to post it... This guy thinks he's soooooo hot and popular, but in real... If you watched the video, you'll understand...

And when we're talking about music, let's not forget to mention some performers that belong to the traditional / cultural part of each country...

So, here's ours:

(Ansambel Lojzeta Slaka performing at the concert od Siddharta)

Oh, and here in Slovenia, people like the so called turbofolk music, here are some links:

(Lepi Dasa)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2-dc7pbz7E

(Atomik Harmonik)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2D1yTws6fk

(Turbo Angels)

Ok, I think that's enough... I pesonally don't like the performers I enumerated (staring with Damjan Murko), but since we are talking about music... There are just so many kinds of it and all should be mentioned...

hmm, officially my very first post... exciting!

Being a huge Mika-fan hasn't stopped me being fan of other great Belgian groups, some of them have been mentioned before, I hope that's not a problem (mentioning them twice will make sure you take a look at them ;-)

first of all: DAAN - he's makes over-the-top music, very poppy but also megalomanic, great performer ! Very succesfull in Belgium, at the moment resleasing his cd in France and Germany too

(to check out one of his crazy songs: very dark lyrics, but with a hyperactif euphoric soundscape on it)

and second: STIJN - he's been called the new Prince in Belgium, but maybe that's a bit overrated ;-) makes very funky songs, lots of beats and computersounds but with a great voice on top of it and a great livereputation:

It's just a suggestion, hope you like it.

By the way, I'm very impressed by this forum, really: everyone tries to be kind and stuff... Mikafans are clearly great people! I always have a smile on my face while reading the sometimes crazy posts :-)

hope my English is good enough...

greetz!

uhmm, let me think...if you look at the gigs in Italy Vasco Rossi ALWAYS makes sold-out. And Laura Pausini (which maybe some of you have heard of) is very successful too. We also have young bands who reach the top, but they last 1 year, max 2 and then disappear.

Then american hip hop singers too.

this is vasco rossi: he's amazing live.he can gather 40.000 people (or more  ) in his gigs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQOvSPSWDZI (sorry it's quite old)

then there's laura pausini. i don't like her music, can't stand her! sorry! :bleh: but she's got an incredible voice. same of vasco rossi as regards gigs... lots of people! she can fill stadiums

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcQHMlu0RDg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg-DBBLb-Go

then we've got tiziano ferro. i'm sure some of you has already heard him. i don't like him.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GJulGiACIs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPAzLBbmx3k

oh and how forget finley... they think to be a punk-rock band...but they just think to be it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfO80Pef540

and then nelly furtado, avril lavigne, other hip hop singers as mirtilla already said.

I'm a huge fan of Joaquín Sabina and it goes way back inte the wild 80's. *lol* This is one of my favourite songs:

And of course, El Ultimo de la Fila, one of the best Spanish bands ever.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uf-roYK0tXY

This song brings me soooooo many memories. :wub2:

I also like Amaral:

And since I'm from the south I just have to give you the link to some flamenco. *lol* This is a duo of la Niña Pastori and Alejandro Sanz

Me too! I really don't have a problem with it either, just certain songs bug me but I feel that way about all types of music.
