I agree as well. As MIKA fans, we're not necessarily going to be the most objective listeners... we're (most of us ) predisposed to liking whatever Mika does.

 

And who knows, we may yet get a snippet of something down the road.

 

And while I liked the seagull, I'm more intrigued by the guy with the

big necklace. A) Where would you get something like that? B) Why would

you wear something like that to the beach? and C) Where can *I* get

something like that?

A) and C) I have no idea...

B) but come on, where else if not on Venice Beach would one wear a tiger tooth necklace?

I hope that you're right, and that this is a promise of a different sound. I love the current Mika stuff (obviously), but I am ready for different types of songs by him, and it excites me to think that he will come out with a different style.

I mostly agree with violet_sky and Christine's posts.

The idea isn't to run new things by people that may have come to expect a particular sound from him - and then will inevitably compare the new to what they are familiar with.

One of the ideas is to play these new sounds to "fresh" ears; those without any preconceived ideas of how his music should sound. Thus the raw reactions (seagulls included).

To summarize the "lovely" comments that have been posted so far ....

Instead of finishing and recording a new album, please make a porn video.
