  1. Several of the people in the top "friend's" list are the record label people - marketing, etc. Greg Wells is a producer who helped with Life in Cartoon Motion.

Tommy Mottola is helping him launch in the US. Motolla is a music executive and co-owner of Casablanca Records in a joint venture with the Universal Music Group. He headed Sony Music Entertainment, parent of the Columbia label, for nearly 15 years. He is known as a mentor and former talent manager. His most famous proteges were Hall & Oates in the 1970s and 1980s, and Mariah Carey (later his wife) in the 1990s.

  2. Just my sense given how busy he is...and all of the collateral sites that are on MySpace - Lollipop Girl, Mrs. Brown, Billy Brown, MIKA's Secret Society, etc.

MIKA is a commercial entity and the record labels are going to ensure his success.

As much as I would like a personal response from MIKA to show up in my Inbox - it ain't gonna happen! He's got his people watching out for him and the more successful you become, the more wary of so called "friends/fans" an artist becomes. Who are friends, who are admirers, who are obsessed stalkers!

  3. Mac users - you can only use Safari browser! Just an FYI as I tried Firefox and Camino and they didn't work. Safari wasn't working either for a while, but they have not fixed a problem with the Java detection.

It works ok on my Mac now...

    Cheers!

  4. Thank you so much for posting - I wasn't aware of this. I absolutely love the acoustic songs with just MIKA playing the piano! His voice is so beautiful that he doesn't need all of the backup support that so many artists need (ie. Madonna).

  5. :punk: Artist: Mika

    Song: Ring Ring

i will sit down on the fence

and i thought that i would kiss you

i never thought i would of missed you

but you never let me fall

push my back against the wall

everytime you call, you get so emotional

    im freaking out

    (Chorus)

    Ring Ring

Is that you on the phone

    you think your clever

but you never saying nothing at all

    hey hey

the way you spin me around

you make my busy when you play me like a kid with a crown

    you got a dangerous obsession

now im i need of some protection

    that was never my intention

used to love me, now you hate me

    say i drove you crazy

well if i did you made me

wont somebody save me, from you now

    (Chorus)

    Ring Ring

Is that you on the phone

    you think your clever

but you never saying nothing at all

    hey hey

the way you spin me around

you make my busy when you play me like a kid with a crown

    its words i wanted

    until you blasted

why wont you leave me alone

    hang up the phone

    just let me go

    (Chorus) x 2

    Ring Ring

Is that you on the phone

    you think your clever

but you never saying nothing at all

    hey hey

the way you spin me around

you make my busy when you play me like a kid with a crown

    Ring Ring x 3

  6. He does look a little different in some of the commercial, posed shots - maybe they stretch out the photos to make it face wider/fatter. In candid shots it looks a little thinner. Doesn't matter - he's hot no matter what! I love the curly hair...

j'aime les cheveux bouclés des MIKA! :wub2:

  7. I e-mailed a bloke at Push Entertainment and he is checking into problems with accessing the additional content from the CD.

  9. Not his sister - I don't think Mika would expose his little sister to celebrity and fame as it might put her at risk as he becomes famous. I bet it is actress or director's daughter as previously suggested.

His brother Fortune and sister Paloma do perform backup on several tracks on the album, however.

There has been a lot of speculation about MIKA and whether he is gay or straight. I don't really think it matters. If you like his look and you like his music, what difference does it make?

Maybe he's bisexual? Maybe he likes GIRLS and BOYS! That would keep everyone guessing...

He is very new to the music scene and he is young - there are many people in the world (especially in the dumbass US) who are homophobic and might think twice about listening to his music or buying his CD if he made his sexuality a big deal.

Like cute little George (T.R. Knight) on ABC's Grey's Anatomy said, "...I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."

MIKA may be gay, he may be straight or he may be bisexual, but by far the more interesting aspect is his voice, sexy good looks, gorgeous curly hair and all around amazing talent!

I :wub2: MIKA whatever his sexual orientation!

  11. I have an Intel Mac OS X and it just keeps showing the same windows - Analyzing, then a web screen pops open and it gets stuck in a cycle.

No luck here! Maybe someone should contact Casablanca Records and tell them to get it together!

  13. :band:

I'm trying to access the CD extras - but I get an error message. Are others able to access the Secret area with CD?

I have an Intel Mac with OSX.

It just keeps going to the same screen and asking me to put my disc in and then it reads the disk and stops.

    Thanks,

  14. Perez is in love :wub2: with MIKA. Check out his website - he has 10 posts about MIKA. It's like MIKA says in "Happy Ending:"

"...a little bit of heaven...a little bit of hell..."

That's how it is with Perez - if he likes hates you, watch out! If he likes you, RUN!

Perez has given MIKA tons of "free" publicity. He's going to be in London at KOKO on Thursday - if you are in UK - watch for him!

  16. Life in Cartoon Motion finally showed up in my mailbox today! Actually, I just ordered it last week from Amazon.co.uk and it arrived today - pretty fast for transatlantic.

It is amazing! I have mostly listened to "Grace Kelly" but I am really into "Relax (Take it Easy)" at the moment...

I haven't explored all of the extras, but there are some bonus tracks and additional things on the web, no?

Lovin' "Life in Cartoon Motion" :thumb_yello:

  17. Apple iTunes is required to have different stores in different countries. I think it is the record labels and digital rights management (DRM) agreements that stipulate requirement.

I have US account and it wouldn't let me log into the UK iTunes store. However, I was able to create an account with Amazon.co.uk and order the CD now even though it will not be available until March 27th in the US.

That is typical - UK launch precedes US launch by 4-8 weeks usually. I prefer the UK import CDs, however, because they usually are different and better. Also, they don't have that annoying cellophane theft wrapping that US CDs have. Dumb...

  18. I tried to improvise and I kind of got the basic melody - I don't have perfect pitch so I can't play by ear, but I can read music. I would love sheet music!

If anyone has good pitch and can play by ear, I think you can hook a keyboard up to a computer and it will record the music. On a Mac with iLife, there is a program called Garage Band and you can use it to record musical notes.

Also, is it possible to conver .mp3 to .midi? I think you could then get the musical notes. I know that there are ring tone .midi files available for Grace Kelly and others.

Sorry - I'm not tech savvy enough to figure this stuff out!
