  1. Oh gosh! This day can't go by fast enough!!! I'm so freaking ansy...

I keep telling myself not to get too excited cause I don't want to dissapoint myself just in case he's too tired after the concert!

Oh dear but I pray that he is not!

But I have to show you guys these sunglasses that I got with my sister to wear to the show!! along with a tiarra that lights up!

    :biggrin2:

Your glasses and crown - sorry tiarra, are "way cool", there's no way Mika can miss those.

  2. I know that's a favorite of yours, tootch, but I do prefer Over My Shoulder...

And will be happy with Holy Johnny - hope Mika doesn't mind if I sing along,

even though I'm really not supposed to know that tune yet! (I love it,

    though!)

Of course, none of that matters as long as Mika remembers to wear

    THE CHICKEN SUIT!!!

    for Lollipop!

    :naughty:

OK - I've been busy with a sick kid lately, so I haven't been able to keep up with the posts (my mostly usually lurking), so what's up with the chicken suit????

  3. OK, DC Gang, we're under 72 hours now and I'm starting to vibrate, I'm so excited.

(No off-color remarks please, I'm an old lady :naughty: )

Tootch and I have been talking and we're planning on meeting at the club

no later than 5 p.m., even though the doors don't open until about 7:30.

I believe mgpm is hoping to get there about the same time.

And Lissy said she's shooting for that timeframe as well. What about everyone

else? Would you all like to try to rendezvous so we can stand together during

    the show?

My neighbor who I'm dragging along has me worried about the location of

the club -- says it's not such a great area, so we won't be doing any walking

around looking for a place to eat, shop, etc. I'll probably bring snacks with me

to have while we wait. Not sure what if anything there is to eat in the

club, but TBH, I'll probably be too excited to really eat.

So I imagine we'll basically be picnicking on the steps of the 9:30 Club.

Mika, Luke, Mikey, Martin and Cherisse -- you're all welcome to join us

if you'd like to have a bite to eat before the show :biggrin2:

I'll have a big MFC sign -- the familiar brown, white and yellow logo you

see up at the top of this page ^^^

We will also have the blinking hearts (may have a few extra if anyone's

interested) so I think we'll be fairly easy to spot. :wink2:

In any case, that's what we're thinking... if anyone wants to join us,

we hope you will. Or if anyone has any better ideas... maybe if you've

been to the 9:30 Club before... please, feel free to share!

So looking forward to meeting everyone... oh, and btw, seeing Mika et. al.

    as well!

dcdeb <70ish hours (I need a better countdown clock!) to MIKA in DC!!!>

I'm for about 5:00 pm also, maybe even a bit earlier. Looking forward to meeting all of you. I'm bringing my two daughters, well at least one, I just got into it with my 14 year old and she may not be coming (I may kill her before then).

  4. I believe there are two lodges in DC, one up north and the other south of the beltway. I have stayed in both. Both are nice, nothing real fancy, but clean, safe area's, reasonably priced. The one down south is just almost right beside the base housing. Across the expressway althought is not a good area to go into, and there is really no need to do so.

  5. and deb, i meant to tell you that i ended up getting a room at the navy lodge - all the hotels in springfield that werent too expensive looked a bit scary... and tyson's corner were all expensive!

i would have liked fairfield or courtyard, but ALL the marriott chains in the area were listed as no rooms available for that date!

is there a convention or something going on that week???

Hey thanks for reminding me, I have to call the navy lodge and get a room, it's a Tuesday so hopefully it won't be all booked (I've stayed at that lodge before and its very nice) I believe you are a navy wife? My husband is retired navy (3 years retired).

  6. Still haven't figured out what time I'll be there, Marianne. I'm dragging my

neighbor along (poor woman!) and I have to wait for her to get home from

work... but she finishes around 3, so I hope I'll be there no later than 5. I'd

like to miss the rush-hour traffic if possible. (ha, in Washington DC?)

Anyhow... I suppose we'll figure this timing out soon... it's getting SOOOO close! We'll let you know for sure!

    dcdeb

    PS I'm 47 :wink2:

I drove up to DC to go to the mall (Ikea) about two weeks ago. I took me over 3 hours, and I didn't even go near the "beltway".

Got you beat - 51, 52 in June.

  7. We haven't gotten that far in our plans, yet. :naughty: I think I may

be getting there earlier than that... I'm sure we'll be posting here as

soon as we get the details sorted.

Hoochatootch, mgpm, and I (the oldlings of the DC contingent, I think :wink2: )

are planning on getting together before the show. I'm hoping that lots

of other MFCers who are going will join us! The more the merrier, right?

And just so you know, I have a 2' x 3' MFC banner that we'll be proudly

displaying, so we should be easy to find. Oh, and we should be wearing our blinking hearts, making us even easier to spot!

    Can't wait can't wait can't wait!!!

dcdeb <11 days 16 hours 43 minutes until MIKA in DC!>

dcdeb - what time are ya planning on getting there? I'm driving up as soon as I can spring my kids from school that day (who knows maybe we'll skip school that day - bad mother, bad mother), and I was hoping I wouldn't be the first one there. I'm also an oldling (I'm sure that I am the oldest of the oldings group coming (how sad:( )).

  8. i was a nervous wreck buying my tickets this am!

    where you at in vb?

    i live near salem.

I live down near Sandbridge. And my daughters go to Princess Anne Middle.

I saw in this thread people talking about Boston and Atlanta. What other tour dates have been set?:woot_jump: :woot_jump:

  9. hey Marianne!

dcdeb was able to go to the site & said that there is no age limit!

    i'm bringing my daughter too!

make sure you buy the ticket for parking too!:thumb_yello:

I just bought my tickets (3), I am so excited I had to input my credit card number three times, and in typing this sentence I've had to go back in every single word and make a correction.

Thanks about the parking, I'll go back in and get the parking ticket, I didn't see it when I was buying concert ticket (oh I see where the club web site talks about it) I'm so excited.:boxed::mf_lustslow::wub2::roftl::bleh:

  10. OK, I'm going to answer my own post, just in case someone else needs to know. You have to "have been born", and that's the only requirement, so the club's web page says. So I'm ordering bebe!

  11. Help, just found this posting. What is the age limit of the club? I have a 14 year old and an 11 year old. I need to find out if they can come before I order the tickets. DC is only about 4 hours away. Wow (I'm so excited:mf_lustslow: :mf_lustslow: )!!!!:surfing:

    Can anyone help me?????

  12. That true, it's as if harmony scares them. If you can understand the words to a song, many teens just are not interested. This is what I want to know, is this 30,000 number a projected number or is this the number already sold? I mean if its what ever has been sold, it hasn't even been a full week yet. And if it's a projected number, well you never can tell. I've notice on itunes that Mika's CD is running at #8.

  13. Hello All,

OK this is my second try at this, lost my first try  . Tried to get too cute with the Smilies.

I meant to register about a month or so ago, but just never got around to it. Too busy surfing the various Mika sites on the web, myspace.com/mika, youtube, etc. I finally decided “Just Do Itâ€Â! So here I am. I’ve been a Mika fan since the first time I heard “Grace Kelly†on the local radio station. I knew right off he was something special, and the more I’ve learned about him only confirms my first opinion. I really like how he seems so grounded, it sounds like he has a good family that will keep him in a good place mentally. I really believe that Mika is going to be huge!

I have also introduced my two daughters to Mika, my daughters are 14 and 11, I love to watch my 11 year old sing “Lollipopâ€Â, she has it down pat (too cute). I have proof of my Mika addiction, I changed my pug’s myspace site to a pug and Mika site (the pug is not happy).

I’m currently listening to the Mika album online through AOL, they are hosting some sort of “CD playing partyâ€Â. The only album that I’m even interested in is Mika’s, I’ve been playing it here at work all day. I love every single song! You know how normally you will get an album and like this song, or that song. Well I can honestly say I love them all. I can’t wait until I can buy it tomorrow, maybe I should buy two, I might wear one out. It has driven me nuts that we couldn’t buy the album here in the states until the 27th, it’s just not fair. I am also looking forward to Mika touring the US sometime soon (hopefully). I would love to try and get up to NYC at the end of the month, to that Borders event. But the likelihood of that happening is most likely nill (but I can dream can’t I). Take care.
