Like you, Ilike brit accent, but also american accent ( hard to understand sometimes !). For me, it's exotic and ..... sexy !

But I can't imagine Claude singing in another language than french, except italian. When I translate his songs, I realise how they are like poems. When you're used to hear a song, you don't listen to it really.
