  1. It's funny how one of my goals at the Tokyo MIKA show was to meet him, but when Queen and PR came here, I never thought that for a minute. They just seem so much more unreachable.

And I will never think I'm gonna meet someone famous ever again, after the crushing disappointment of NOT meeting Mika in Tokyo...I mean, c'mon, I was the ONLY one at the outside performance holding a MFC poster, MTV even put my photo on their website.... and he still didn't speak to me!!! AAAAAH!

Sometimes you have to protect yourself from the disappointments in life. I guess I was mad at myself for not doing that last weekend.

So I will be happy to just continue to admire Queen and Roger and Brian from afar. I did write to Brian a couple of times about WWRY in Tokyo and got onto his web site that way. He really is a lovely person. And I am better off admiring from afar.

I guess I have the advantage of living in the 'home country' but agree that meeting Brian is never a likely scenario. Having said that, I managed it last December - twice in the same week! :biggrin2: At one time, I never thought it possible because I wasn't going to do it by hanging around stage doors, which I've never done in my life and don't intend to start now...so Mika looks an equally unlikely prospect...but I know now that it can be done so maybe one day...:wink2:

  2. Just bumping up the thread - the Mika Mums were sliding - a bit like our domestic chores eh girls:naughty:

Domestic chores? What are they? HA HA!

Went back to work today after a few days off...

I would've liked to have represented the MFC mothers on the video - I don't think anyone from this thread went? I've told my daughter she's really missed out - the chance to see her mum prancing about with Mika on a music channel...LOL!

  3. Mika Mad, being a bad mum to this (minor) degree is very forgiveable under these exceptional circumstances:biggrin2: ...I am sure ANY of us Mika Mums would have done the same.

Aren't you sweet looking after the Estonian younglings. That scores "good mum" points, girl!! See it all balances out!!

Hey, I went to Estonia for a holiday in February...was in a shop in the medieval town in Tallinn and they were playing 'Relax'! :biggrin2:

It's my daughter's 15th birthday today (20th). It's probably just as well I didn't get to participate in the Mika video because she would have shrivelled with embarrassment in front of her friends! I was telling them about it today -"but couldn't you IMAGINE me prancing around with Mika?" :roftl:

  4. Welcome! :thumb_yello: Always nice to see more Queen fans!

Brian is just...wow...:wub2: Yeah, he's my favourite too! :bleh:

Brian is a really super guy. I've met him twice very briefly - each time I had him to myself for a few seconds and I will definitely always treasure both of those occasions!:yay: :yay:

  5. Reply to them back and say all your friends are going but you was denied. They will reply back!!! they did to me.. I sent the mail today and got a reply today :D

Thanks for the thought - I was out with my daughter last night so I've only just seen your message - well it sounds as though they had enough people - I'm sure you don't have to be bigger than a Size 14! You'll get padding, or what? I wouldn't need it of course, being the size I am...:roftl: ...as I said, they missed out on their prime casting possibility...:biggrin2:

BUT TO THOSE WHO'RE GOING, HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Let's hope it's organised better next time...I guess the venue change that Freddiesdouble mentioned must have put a spanner in the works.

  6. Hope you Video guys all have a wonderful time and all of us in far away countries will be green with envy that they give the UK people all the chances for everything!!!

Will be waiting for the stories. What a buzz on the boards this week, honestly I can hardly tear myself away for sleep!! It's all too much!!:punk: :punk:

Some of us haven't been lucky, though, Blue Sky! Bit of a lottery, I think!

  7. OMG, I am Old! I just realized that yesterday i posted that i was 38 and Im actually 37. How embarrasking !!! I need to start a new thread for alzheimers eligible.. Me being number one... Bad enough i forget my kids age, and i go and add on more years to mine... he he :

WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM? MORE THAN ONE OF US IS 45!!! (ANY ADVANCE ON THAT, BY THE WAY?)

  8. Let's get one thing straight here. In case it's not been mentioned in this thread before - and I don't have time to look - the spelling FreddIE. He never used a spelling with Y.

Mika is Mika - he is not anyone else. However, you look at Mika, and you see the spirit of Freddie. Others have seen it - just like me - within a very short time, because it's that obvious.

  9. Some of the messages placed here recently since I think I suggested something on the lines of mothering Mika have been quite interesting.

Actually I felt I meant something more along the lines of looking after him - not for a minute doubting that his mum has always done a brilliant job there - this 'younger man' thing is a new one on me and I'm still working it out. Will let you know if I get any further...:wink2::naughty:

  10. By the way, I didn't mean to lower the tone of the thread by my use of the word "lust". It won't happen again! God knows there are enough 'dodgy threads' out there We don't want this one to 'turn'...

Just good clean Mikamum/mom fun from now on, I promise!

    :mf_rosetinted:

I didn't mean that, write 'LUST' as much as you like :bleh:..actually I had wanted to put one of these in :biggrin2: after my comment, but we're rationed on smileys...just one of the other great inconveniencies I have to tolerate on top of this 'gagging order' on my head :biggrin2:..

:mf_lustslow: I'm sure Mika doesn't need any of these screaming teeny-bopper types :biggrin2: just loadsa TLC from us mums who know how...:roftl:

  11. Hi AGJG (if I can call you that...I laughed so much when I first saw your name the other day)

You are now officially Mika Mum #27...I thought of calling the thread Mika mums, but the US girls are moms not mums, so I wanted to keep everyone happy! We can call ourselves whatever we like of course.

And I have to admit to being exactly the same age as you, and my first 45 record (yes I remember them well, I still have mine) was Killer Queen!! 1974 or 1975. BWAHAHAHAHA, I am really that ancient....oh well so are you, so we can laugh together.

And hate to disappoint you, I only LIVE in Japan, I am an Oz girl through and through. My dh is Japanese and my kids are all proud "mutts".

Oh! okay - Oz is okay, I suppose :biggrin2: (What a POMMIE BASTARD I am :roftl: ) I have a close connection with 'Aussie Queens' - the Oz + NZ Queen fans - they have my website on their 'links' page - a discerning group of people, for sure! :biggrin2:

HO yes, doesn't Mika NEED MOTHERING? :wub2: I can see this thread already has some 'risque' content - AHEM...moving swiftly on...

Thanks for your comment about my 'user name' - yes the abbreviation is fine - might give me additional 'kudos' around the place, y'know...(WHAT? YOU DON'T KNOW WHO AGJG IS?:biggrin2: ) I think that A Gagged Jade Goody should join Mika's world on a permanent basis, achieving status secondary only to the LG, BB, etc...because I think it would be such a jolly great relief if somebody really DID gag Jade Goody...

Yes, I agree that dancing around to LCIM is EXCELLENT exercise! :thumb_yello:

By the way, do I do anything else about being #27? I take it I can add this distinction to my signature now?

  12. Hello, I have just found this thread...being 45 I can remember the era when that was number of rotations per minute that vinyl singles were played...:biggrin2: (hence their other name '45s')

I have a 14-year-old daughter - she will be 15 on Sunday. I'm a self-confessed aged adolescent SO WHY SHOULD AGE BE ANY FACTOR?

He he...we're the 'Mika mums...' :biggrin2:...

Great to see some Japanese fans - when I was a teenager, I had a Japanese penpal via the Queen fan club! History re-visited! :biggrin2:

  13. Even if he didn't use those precise words, this must have a large element of truth in it - think about it:

I wrote an article on the bloggers' site 'Helium' about Mika, in which I mentioned that a ticket like the one I had purchased for his Kokos concert a few weeks before the show for less than £13 was being touted outside on the night for £150 because of the chart success in the meantime.

It was a sudden and meteoric transformation, which must have proved to be a hard transition - I think that a lot of media attention doesn't sit well with everyone...you get treated like a commodity, I guess - just another 'celebrity' for them to dig their teeth into...

I think this forum is a great idea because it can be seen who the true fans are, and the true fans will respect his privacy, because he still has the right to a private life.

    ...?

Sie ist 14. Sie mag solche Musik normalerweise nicht, aber 'In Any Other World' findet sie richtig gut.

  15. I tried this myself, because I have two myspaces and one of them does not have Mika as a friend yet - it appears to be normal now - ie it doesn't ask for the surname - he he -:naughty: If it had I'd have tried his surname to see if it worked - he made some comment once that his surname shouldn't be a matter of concern or something like that, I believe...

But I think it's better if comments on myspace are programmed to be authorised anyway - otherwise it can get out of hand.

  17. Well, thank you, everyone! I have to say I'm overwhelmed! :thumb_yello: by such a welcome! :wub2: There is a lot posted here, however, and so I can't get to look at very much of it!

Did I see that some of you had trouble at Leeds? As an alumna of said University, I'm appalled ...:protest: ... pity I wasn't there to give them a piece of my mind :protest: Things have clearly gone seriously downhill in the twenty three years since I graduated from that particular academic institution...TUT TUT.
