  1. I won't give up and have those tickets wasted :aah:. I have one ticket for Dusseldorf, and one for Munich, both standing. You get the Mikapoints with them as I bought them through Mikasounds and did not enter the points.

    PM me if interested !

  2. I still have one ticket for Dusseldorf, and one for Munich. You get the Mikapoints with them as I bought them through Mikasounds and did not enter the points.

PM me if you're interested ! I can't believe they might end up wasted :boxed:.

  3. HE'S ON NOOOOW!!!! Can't believe it's the first time I'm watching the infos on that chanel (not a big fan) Mika looks so serious,it must be a big deal for him since it's like the most watched infos in France!! Bet his parents were watching it as a kid!

He was sooooooooooooo serious while Claire Chazal was presenting him in the headlines ! Not at ease at all :roftl:! He must be : Oh God it's THE news I must not f*ck up... Concentration CONCENTRATION !!!!

FYI, the news of TF1 are the most viewed news in France.

  4. I really hope the program reflects the atmosphere and professionalism there was on the show, because it was really good and artists were so powerful !

I'd also would like to point out the professionalism of Nagui and his team. What goes on behind the scenes is incredible. It all looks so easy, but it's so much work. They were working from 7am in the morning, and they had to do this 3 days in a row (we finished after midnight, and I guess they had to work some more) as they were doing 2 programs each night for three nights.

From the cameraman down to the people cleaning up the piano for Lady Gaga until the last second so it was all shiny :naughty:. And Nagui always nice, even when he firmly blamed someone who booed because we had to stop one take, and explaining that people were working their ass off, and that with 3 hours of taping, we had to stop only twice for a couple of minutes. He also said it was like a festival.

And indeed it is amazing. Stopping only twice, two minutes for something wrong within 3 hours of program "live", it's nothing !

  5. Great report Em'!! Thank you!

When you say assistance do you mean "audience" in English? I am just wondering as I dodn't speak French:wink2:

Oops sorry yes I mean audience ! I'm tired and my English is getting as wrong as Mika's French... (no, let's be fair, his French is better than my English :wink2:).

One last thing I remember: after his performance with Emilie Simon, they came back together to Nagui for more interview, and Emilie's CD has something amazing inside which I can't describe in English. It's like when you open books for kids sometimes you have things inside that are flat and they go up like if it was built when you open the page... So she had that, and as Nagui told Mika he was sure he would love that, Mika confessed he was jealous he did not have that idea before :naughty:.

  6. Welcome guys ! We sure had an amazing time. But we were knackered by the end of the evening, we had to clap hands so much :naughty:.

    Merci Em :huglove:

Can't wait to see that! I hope his voice will be better for tonight

and thank you Mari for the radio links :flowers2:

Cassiopée, the very last song we had on the second session was Ariane Moffat with La Grande Sophie covering Sweet Dreams, and it was MASSIVE ! We never expected this from them and I can tell you that although the whole assistance was so tired, they managed to get us back on our feet and had us all clapping our half-bloody hands ! Their version was AMAZING, HUGE, GRANDIOOOOOSE !!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Yeah I might be wrong about that, but I know another MFCer who was with me thought the same, that his performance was the weakest of them all. I sensed he was putting an effort, so I wonder if he was tired, or if he realised you could not hear him... Don't know...

Last thing, he made quite a few mistakes while speaking French (he even said Oh my French is getting so bad or something like that), repeating the same verb with the same mistake over and over again, that was pretty funny. I think he was tired. When you are tired you make more mistakes than usual when speaking a foreign language.

The other thing, but of course it cannot be otherwise, it's logical, you will not find this freshness he had on his first Taratata. He's not a "virgin" anymore (he confessed that Taratata was his first French appearance and he was totally scared then), so people should not expect the fresh sensation and surprise he gave two years and a half ago, which I believe was part of the joy of discovering him for a few people. Yesterday was "Mika used to TV shows", as usual. So I think that this Taratata might not be as "special" as some hope - although it's a long interview and you can see that Mika and Nagui really appreciate each other.

But still it was really good, Taratata is a brilliant program, Mika and Nagui together it's always a special moment as you really can see something between them and I am so happy I got to attend !

I have no idea when it will be aired, but we'll look out over here for sure and let you all know. Should be in October.

  8. Hi everyone !

This will be a short report as I need to work :teehee:.

So Tuesday evening this week I was lucky to be picked by Taratata to be in the audience, and I took Olga along. Some other French fans could get to assist by calling yesterday (thanks to some people who must have cancelled).

So we were a little bunch of French fans. Invitation was for 6pm. Nobody came before 4.30 - 5pm so there was no queuing at all.

The way the driveway was designed it was not possible to see any artist get off / get in their car, so nobody got to see Mika before / after the show. Anyway there were two taping sessions, and Mika was in the first one, so he left after it and most of us who were in the studio could not have seen him go.

So we could hear Mika rehearsing when waiting, first when we were outside and he was with Emilie Simon, second when we were behind the door to the stage and he was rehearsing his own songs. Some people said, why are we waiting too much it's loooong (it was very hot in the hallway) and the security guy smiled and said: well, he's a perfectionist...

Both shows was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, Lady Gaga was OUTSTANDING, and so was Beth Ditto (who was on the 2nd show). So much presence on stage, and their voices, WHOAHHHHH !!!! They are so very talented.

Lady Gaga was the only one who had set up special stuff for the stage, piano with candles, blue lights and soap bubbles. I guess she so much wants to stand by her created character that she wants always to have a "something special" put on to go with it. Anyway she's an incredible singer and pianist. I won't say anything more about it so you think by yourself when you see the performance and interview.

Beth was hilarious she's so not ashamed of anything, I love her ! She even mentioned "oh a special seat for me" before sitting down because other chairs (bar chairs) could not welcome her. She had a hole on her dress under her armpit and said she wanted to show it. SHAMELESS :biggrin2: ! When it was the end of the show she went in the assistance, posing with two guys as the music of the end was going on, and going to see a girl right in front of me to congratulate her on her crazy hair color !

Anyway I start by the end sorry...

So the first session was with Mika. He was starting it. When he arrived on stage to start We are Golden the audience was on fire. You could hardly hear his voice actually, he is the one within all artists that you could less hear and had the less powerful voice, his music was too loud for his voice, or his voice was tired I don't know. All other artists had powerful voices and you could hear them so loud, but not Mika's... They might re-arrange that when it's aired on TV.

Anyway he sang and at the end of the song he was SO cheered by the audience Nagui nearly couldn't speak, he had to wait, Mika was happy by the overwhelming welcome (obviously), and Nagui's first words were: WELCOME HOME, as obviously his whole adventure in France mainly kicked off with Taratata.

    So in main points:

    - Rain will be the next single

    - Taratata makes a "portrait" for some artists and did one of Mika, showing all the crappy kids music that were out in the 80s when Mika was living in France and must have been listening. Mika was laughing and after the portrait he sang a tiny bit of Chantal Goya "Bécassine c'est ma cousine" and the French fans bunch started singing Chantal Goya so Nagui and Mika turned towards us, we looked very stupid :naughty:. They also showed great singers on the portrait that influenced Mika.

    - He got asked about Sliimy, said that he likes his music and that Sliimy is a gentleman as he never said anything bad about Mika although people bother him so much comparing him to Mika

I can't remember the rest (sorry, oldling's memory...). I remember he said he had wanted to tag, or something like that, the Lycée Français but obviously it was better not to, so this is how he came up with the story of We are Golden instead. Sorry my memory is so bad...

Then Mika sang "Comment te dire Adieu" with Emilie Simon (for the ones who don't see what it is, it is a French song that the Communards sang in the 80s). The version was very interesting, you will all like it I think ! Mika was singing pretty low, totally contrary of falsetto, it was weird to hear him like this!

He came back at the end of the show, to perform Blame it on the Girls. LG who was on her way back to backstage kissed him on the cheek while he was at the piano. BIOTG was great but still there was this voice problem, you could not hear him much.

So that's it for now, sorry I remember nothing else there was too much, but if I do I'll add !

Also this morning Mika was on NRJ and I got to hear him in the car on my way to work. He said the same thing about Sliimy, and revealed that he really was OBSESSED with Chantal Goya as a little boy, went to see her 4 times and hall all her shows videos when he was little. I'm so tired I can't remember the rest, but he did not say much anyway, and I hope there is a podcast.

    Hope you enjoy guys !

  9. Ahhhhhhh I'm a big fan of Damien Rice too! Can't wait to see him perform one of those days !

    I particularly love

    Cold Water

    Eskimo

    Amie

    Accidental Babies

I discovered him through Taratata. I had heard about him and several times thought "MMh I have to check him out" and never did. And one day I was at home on the computer with Taratata on TV, and suddenly I heard this unplugged song which just grabbed me, I raised my head and was like "WTF is this?". And it was Rootless Tree which he was still singing with Lisa Hannigan at that time... When they were done singing then Nagui introduced him and I thought: So THIS is him!

The day after I ran to the music store and bought "O". Not long after I bought his EP and "9". And he had been in concert in France just a month before :boxed:.

And now when I go on holiday to Ireland I bother my friend to put Damien Rice on, because I can't be sightseeing in Ireland without Damien Rice on at least a few times... :naughty:

  10. It's a picture, see if you can see it here:

Nope, I don't have access at work, they block the site :boxed:.

    Avec un bon

    Bouquin et quand vous

    Ressourtirez, vous aurez

    Une bonne bronchite

    Mais pas la grippe a

    Vous avez autant de

    Chance de contracter la

    Grippe a que de vous

    Faire mordre par une

    Chauve-souris enrage

    Cool

OK translation (but the beginning is weird, I think beginning of the sentence might be missing?):

With a good book and when you will go out again, you will have a good bronchitis, but not the flu. You have as much chance to get the flu than getting bitten by an enraged bat.
