  2. Geez, what a fantastic bunch of people you are! So friendly. I am sitting here at work (very boring, indeed), and love stealing a few minutes in-between my appointments with students to see what has been posted...:naughty:

  3. No, I found out about him a long while ago through an artist named Brian May (Guitar god from Queen), and other friends of the band Queen who were aware of Mika. This had to be over a year ago. Once Brian said to check him out, we did. And then Brian would throughout the year, give mini updates about Mika, etc.

  4. Thats so cool!

I live in Aliso Viejo and I work in Irvine...which isn't too far when I take the 73... I was just in San Juan Capistrano Saturday for a concert with my older parents, uncle and brother (Ian Hunter at the Coach House...you probably don't know him, but he was the singer for a 70s band Mott the Hoople)...

  5. I am new (less than an hour) and am getting a good laugh (okay, perhaps just a smile) out the forum topics...

    As for dreams with Mika...

I sorta wish I had a dream about Mika (or rather, one involving his music). I suffer from awful awful nightmares (not to mention a small bout of depression) and perhaps just once I could have something that involved up-beat music...:wub2:

  6. I really like the music, and his presentation on stage. While I am sure he is swell, and he seems to have a great personality, I am not "love-struck", or anything of that nature. Not that he isn't an attractive guy, or anything like that!

If I were to ever meet him (which, I doubt will ever happen), I would really like to have a good (and short) conversation regarding his current music and where he sees his next album going, choice of lyrics , etc. And perhaps discuss his musical influences...all of which I assume has already been asked a million times by interviewers and therefore there is no need for me to ask it of him anyhow...:bleh:

  7. So, I thought I would introduce myself. I am proud to be a new member of a board for a "newer" artist. Despite being young, my musical tastes tend to be that of 60s, 70s to early 80s bands.

Over a year ago, I heared about Mika via Brian May and fellow Queen fan's on his board, brianmay.com- So, I thought I would check him out. Very pleased with the musical range with the select songs available at the time.

I just went to the Avalon concert in Hollywood and had a blast. I have seen many bands over the years, including a few of Queen and PR, Zwan and SP, Lynard Skynard, Ian Hunter, etc. but Mika was a WHOLE new experience and by far the best stage presence I have ever seen/enjoyed!

Therefore, I am excited about many years to come of great music, and excellent concerts!
