  1. I am so appreciative that all of you have shared your Mika concert experience. My experience is entirely different.

I have always said that Mika fans are truly the best, and Tuesday night is further proof.

I went with my husband and two daughters. We too, had lunch at the HOB and had the pass to wait indoors. I talked with other MFC’ers but I never really caught anyone’s name; so sorry about that.

We were not far back in the line so we were pretty sure we would have front row seats. My husband and I decided that someone younger might appreciate the front row, more than us. He’s 6’1 and sure to be blocking someone’s view. So, we went to the second level, by the bar where there were tables. We had a descent view and were pleased to see our daughters in front row.

We have a beer and start talking with other fans. My husband and I have a beer once every six months. We just don’t drink much and one beer will usually have me feeling tipsy. Our resistance to alcohol is low.

Next thing I know, other Mika fans are buying us shots and more beers. The bartender is buying a round of shots. My husband is buying others shots. Good Lord, Mika fans like to party and are so friendly!

Needless to say, I am disappointed in myself for not seeing much of Mika’s concert. However, I am so thrilled to have met new friends. These fans were amazing. Hopefully if they don’t already, they will start posting here. In addition, I hear that my daughter met some fantastic fans and is continuing talking with them.

I did see our Lollipop Girls and they did a fantastic job!

Mika fans really are the best.

  2. Don't you think Mika and the band are already here? When Amanda talked to Nadya she said that Mika and the band had a flight delayed on SAT. That would of given them plenty of time to get here. Also, if by any chance they aren't, they still have tonight and tomorrow morning. Lets all hope everything goes well.

I hope you're right and they're here already. Most of all the flights have been cancelled. Tomorrow's weather isn't looking good. :(

  3. (my parents want to go with, but want to be backstage somewhere, so if they need to find me they can, ugh! why do i have to be young!) I am just worried that she will call someone else instead of me.

Congratulations! Your parents are reacting exactly how I would.

A couple of things I found out. If anyone plans on using the valet service; it's $13.00 the first 2 hours. After that, it could be anywhere from $3.00 to $4.00 for each hour. There are several outside parking venues, close to the HOB.

I can't find a large enough sticker for my name, but I plan on wearing a red rosette. So if I don't see any of you, and you see me, please say hello! I really look forward to meeting you all.

  4. Congratulations, Amanda!!!! I just KNEW when I saw your pictures that you would make a perfect lollipop girl!

I got a call this morning also from Mika's management and I will be the other lollipop girl! Yay for the MFC!

I am beyond excited. Mostly in shock.

You too?! Aww ladies, I am so happy for you!

  5. I am going.... but I hope there is more than just teenage girls there as this board would suggest. lol I might feel a little funny.

LOL, I'm have no doubt that I'm beyond your years (45 here). I'm bringing my husband and two daughters (18 & 16).

Mika's people called me this morning!! She said they were interested in me and I told her that I wanted the position. She said that all I needed to do for now was be there at the venue by 5pm. Then she said she would call me again on Monday to give me all the details!!!

    I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

Now that I know what a Lollipop girl is, that's fantastic news! You very much deserve it! It's so great to have 'one of our own' be up there on stage.

  6. BonjourMika1990;979467, your rendition of seeing Mika was poetic!

Yeah that is great that you'll be there. This is our first concert of many we'll be going to. We wonder if we met Mika what he would say to us.:wub2::blush-anim-cl: We said to our cousin that we want to wait outside because we want to get a good spot. She said that she would drop us off and she do something else while we get a good spot. We'll be leaving in the morning for Chicago and it takes around 3 hours. What are some of the earliest times people will be waiting?

Hopefully we'll get to chat and meet up for some pics. We've been fans since probably the beginning of the year when we heard "Love Today" on a commercial here in the U.S. We joined here in June but didn't really post or look at the posts till just a few months ago so we didn't really know what all went on around here. Now we go bilistic if we don't check this site at least once a day.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! This year has been a great one!

I plan on being there early but it really depends on the weather. My daughter wants to be there in the morning, however bad weather can stir her asthma.

If I could, I would 'save' some spots for members of Mika Fan Club. However, I wouldn't want to rude to other fans.:naughty:

I like the idea of wearing our user name so we can identify each other.

    Happy belated birthday Fmbm!

  7. the first time i saw mika i started bawling it was actually quite embarassing but i just couldn't stop the tears:blush-anim-cl: it's just after looking at pictures and videos he seems too good to be true and then you see him jump out on that stage and it overwhelmed me with happiness :wub2:

It's funny that you say that because my daughter asked if I was going to cry when I see him and I said "Of course not! Well, at least I don't think I will."

That is cool that you all are going! We're bringing our cousin who is 27 and she doesn't really like Mika but think that is going to change.

This is going to be our first Mika concert and we know we are going to have a fab time!

It's amazing how Mika's music can address many ages.

  8. I'm excited for two reasons:

    1. It's the first time I'm seeing Mika.

    2. My husband and daughters will be with me.

I never let my girls miss school, but this will be an exception.

My oldest daughter is not a Mika fan "yet". I'm sure she will be once she sees him. She mostly listens to techno/club (?) type music. She often talks with a couple of the DJs on a major radio station, and I'm trying to convince her to push Mika, to them.

We do hope to get to the show early, but I worry about the weather conditions.

  9. Basically in these 'old' shows, I think that there is something in Mika which screams out 'pleaseee, like me!!', he comes across very insecure, like he's not sure what to do, or where to look, or which way to move, etc, in case he does the 'wrong' thing.

I may be getting this totally wrong, but IMO it looks like he's very self aware and like he's desperately looking for reassurance from the audience, or the band playing with him.

I don't know, I think that recently he has started to 'come out' a bit more in that sense and he seems to feel more comfortable and at home on stage, and for that reason I find it easier to watch now without feeling a bit like it's too emotional.

Does this make any sense to anyone? :blush-anim-cl:

Yes, I completely understand and agreee. In his earlier performance, you want to take his hand and tell him it's going to be alright. He had a shyness about him that was captivating.

Past, present and future, he is a wonderful soul, but the nostalgic that you speak of is a precious reminder.

    Does that make sense?

  10. It seems like a really great place.

Hello murphee and welcome. I've been to many music forums and I have to say, this place has the nicest members.
