  1. I liked them too. It's just a shame that they were the second opening act...The first one was dull and drained the energy out of me so I didn't react much to creature. As much as I loved the Mtl gig...Mika took over 2 hours before appearing on stage...that was a bit of a letdown ...at least he made up for it with his performance, it was awesome. I became a Mika fan on that very night.

Ahhhhhhhhh you finally subscribed to the MFC board !!!! :thumb_yello::punk: I was wondering if you would one day :naughty:

Same for me , I pretty much liked Creature's sound. But honestly, I was like that  when I saw the keyboardist clothes. The top and the skirt looked cool... but just not together at the same time hehehe. As for their performance, it was awesome!

  2. Someone know how to make a link in my signature for my videos and pictures but without the url address?

mmmm , I'll try to explain... when you put your tags to link, between them they repeat the url. Just replace that by the text you want to see instead.

    Like that :

[ the tag = URL something ] You place your text here [ / End of the tag ]

    Hope it works

EDIT: ok,ohwowitsnicka was faster :P hehehe

  3. I read mostly all the thread this morning and now. Some great reports and pics, that's nice. I'm about to eat but during this time I'll upload my pics on the computer... I hope I have some good ones. If so I'll post it later tonight

Everyone said pretty much the same I would say about this show. So I'll try not to repeat everything and make it short :naughty:

1st, the 2 bands first act. I did like the sound of Creature, but when you don't know a band and the sound isn't good, that you can't ear what they sing, I'm never really impressed. As for the first band, I don't remember their names and didn't like the sound very much. I'm pretty open mind about new artists ordinary but last night I thought it was long, too long.

Then the man : Mika :mf_lustslow: I totally loved the whole show! It was all what I expected from him and his musicians on stage. Colorful, good interaction with the crowd, full of energy : what a fan can ask more? :punk:

I had put myself away of all Mika's live videos on the web to be sure not be spoiled. I pretty much liked the 2 new songs (never heard them before), but I'll have to ear again Holy Johnny to appreciate it more. I took a video of How much do you love me (the whole song), I'll upload it later for you to see. I totally loved the cover of When doves cry! The 80's freak in me was really happy :biggrin2: Congrats to the Lollipop girls of the forum (sorry I forgot your names :blush-anim-cl: ) You did a great job, that was cool!

So all in all, I had a very good evening with my friends. We sang, danced and screamed. The wait before Mika arrived on stage was long but worth it a lot. I say 2 thumbs up for this concert :thumb_yello:

  4. Hello Hello Canadians. I need some help. I recently moved to Montreal and I really don`t know much in this beautiful city, I know there`s people in this thread that live and that have visited Montreal. Some friends from Ottawa may come visit me next month and I would like to take them to see the city so that we can all visit some great Montreal landmarks. It really is a shame that I don't know where to go!

Any suggestions of great places of Montreal to check out on a weekend? Hopefully something not too expensive and that can be visited by bus or metro.

What are your favourite Montreal places?

Posterofagirl, like Cassiopée said, Old Montreal is one of the most beautiful place in the city. While you are there, you could also go visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral too. It's one of the most beautiful church in Montreal. If you go in Old Montreal by night, I suggest you to go partying at "Les 2 pierrots" on St-Paul street. They have live musicians every weekend and they are singing a lot of different styles : music from Quebec and old success too... plus, they sometimes accept suggestions from the crowd, but not all the time though. A good mix between English and French songs :thumb_yello: FYI, last time I've been there, the cover charge was 6$. It's not that much if you consider cover charges can be up to 10 or 15$ downtown.

One of my favorite place is the Mont-Royal mountain. Kinda country side in the city hehehe You have a beautiful view of the city up there and it's easy to access by bus. At the Mont-Royal metro station, you take the bus number 11 to go there.

It's all I can think about for the moment, but if you want more informations you can come back here to ask :wink2:

  5. Welcome to the MFC !!!! I'm sure you'll enjoy it here !!! You'll see there are many fans from Montréal here !

Like Cassiopée said, you are very welcomed on the Canadian Thread, please pop in and say hi !

Thanks! I just joined the Canadian Thread :biggrin2:

  6. i can speak french...well not as great as them...in school i take french classes! im pretty sucky at it though...:roftl:

First of all, hello everyone :biggrin2: Joining the Canadian thread too! I joined the forum last week and Cassiopée directed me here :thumb_yello:

phunkygal, don't worry, on my side I'm still learning English ... I have a 2 hours lesson every wednesday (On myyyyyy, it's tomorrow  ) and right now, I'm taking a break of my homework about the "present perfect continuous". It's driving me crazy!

  7. Salut Persane! It's always good to see new Montrealers!

Hope you enjoy yourself around here!

    There's a canadian thread :http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3359&highlight=canadian

Were you at the gig at le club Soda back in march?

Thanks for the warm welcome, everybody! It's really appreciated. I feel like I'm a part of a big big family :original:

Thanks for the link Cassiopée, I'll take a look at it for sure. I didn't have the time to look at everything yet, but I put that on my list :wink2:

Unfortunately, I wasn't at the gig in March. I heard about the show way too late  As I don't really like to listen to the radio or watch TV, sometimes I miss some great things. I don't think I'll miss the next gig... not now that I'm on this forum :wink2:

  8. Hi everyone!

I'm a girl from Montreal, Canada and it's my first post here. :biggrin2: I found this message board while searching some Mika stuff on the web :blush-anim-cl:

Ok, so where did I discovered Mika? Pretty simple... I was at work (pretty boring :naughty: ) , the radio was playing and I just fell in love with the sound of Grace Kelly. It putted a smile on my face right away and the work seemed a little bit less boring :wink2: Took me a while to figured out all the lyrics at first, but now I'm pretty good to sing along when I listen to Life in Cartoon Motion :biggrin2:

Hope to have fun here with you all :woot_jump:
