  1. Hi MFC,

For those on facebook, friends of Lisa Maree Keem have set up a missing persons alert -http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21002435212

Lisa went missing in Hervey Bay on Saturday June 13th. Details of her disappearance are on this Facebook page, or at http://www.australianmissingpersonsregister.com/Keem.htm

Please call crime stoppers if you have any information realting to Lisa's disappearance 1800 333 000.

Thanks, sorry for posting this, but if it helps get her back...

  2. Yay thanks for that...I've put it in my reminder but what's that Mika's Mates that's on after it????

Hi lovely ladies, how are we this evening!

Yeah I just saw that Mika mates thing... who knows with Channel [V]. They are kinda kooky with some of their programming. Not complaining though! Max had the Later with Jools episode with Mika on a few weeks back, I recorded it on IQ, then in my wisdom deleted it. Not sure how, but it's gone. Waiting for them to repeat it now...

  3.

It means a night time flight? That's awesome then! $200 is pretty acceptable actually!

Yeah, the red eye is the over night flight - you get off the plane at the other end with red eyes! Unless you can sleep on the plane, it's not very pleasant. But flying to see Mika's concert would well be worth it!

  4. I would love it if Mika came to Perth, but would still def try and get over to Syd or Mel for those shows. I have been trying (unsuccessfully!) to put some money away to pay for airfares, accom, etc. If things keep going the way they have been and I stop spending I will end up with enough to see him in London (okay, I only have about $250 so far so I won't get my hopes up just yet!)

Keep saving!!! I'm trying to save for the move to London, but keep getting distracted by Gucci ballet flats or similar. At least tiger airways have cheap flights from Perth to Melbs now (dodgy, but cheap).

  5. I wonder if a group stalk/The Mikamite Dream Tour of Oz will happen if Mika tours early next year since a bunch of Mikamites will be going overseas for New Year's (therefore blowing a large amount of money) and I may or may not be moving (hence money for a bond, furniture, etc). If so it might be just Melb and Syd Mikamite gatherings? Or a Perth one too if the WA-ians won't be flying over (if he performs there that is as many artists do just the East Coast).

I hope he comes before the end of the year cause my plan is to move to London in January... well I could always pretend I have visa problems and delay the move (or just come back for the concerts).

We could do a "fanatics" version of the Ashes tour, but for the Mika concerts! A tour of duty around AUS. I'll arrange the tour t-shirt!

  6. No, I don't think any Aussies are going. I considered going to Amsterdam, but I'm going to Costa Rica with my friends now instead :P

I guess if you want to go, you should definately head over to the gig threads and start making friends with people that will be there :wink2: Especially other people that are coming in internationally because you could stay and sightsee togetehr and stuff.

Another option, but I don't know how your money situation is, would be to watch heart broken as the Europeans get their glory and save your money for a group stalk following Mika around Australia :das: But who knows how long that'll be

I suppose is was quite interesting then, what with the new paper shredder being such a highlight?

LOL - a group stalk? Well count me in!!! Yeah, when is Mr Penniman coming back to AUS??? I was all prepared for an AUS tour for the V Festivals, but it was not to be.

  7. Here is some stuff I learnt while working at the Australian Embassy-you've maybe seen these advisories but I think they're pretty interesting:cool:

Myself and some other MFCers are going on the 10th July in Lisbon, Portugal to see Mika at a festival- the tickets are 40€, that's 65.53 AUD.:thumb_yello:

    Hope I helped

    M

Thank-you! If I end up going to that concert, I'll let you know, maybe I can meet you guys (I'm not too scary, well not scary at all. I think.)

  8. Not going over myself... But if you are thinking about it, have you tried checking out the gig threads?

Yeah I checked out the gig threads, there are a few tickets available...hmmm - do I spend all of my money to go to the other side of the world for a Mika concert. I think so!

Happy Queens Birthday for all of you off work tomorrow...

  9. I don't read the Aussie thread too regularly **apologies**, so sorry if I'm repeating conversations... but is anyone from AUS heading to the Paris concert next month, or to any of the other European concerts?

I've come very close to just buying flights and going over (by myself, my friends think I've lost the plot over my Mika obsession), based on there always being a way to get a hold of tickets to anything, provided you have the cash. Was hoping to get some travel tips or find someone I could catch up with over there.

    B.

  10. Evening all. Was just watching Rove, cos Michael Buble was on... And about a year ago it was Mika... *sigh*

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!! On Friday night I was in JB Hi-Fi and I asked them to check to see if they had a release date for Relax yet. Not only was the answer "NO", but the guy tried to say that he didn't think Mika was going to be releasing anything more here off LICM. "Isn't it time for a new album?" he says. "Yes, he's currently working on it!" says I. Much easier to come here and find out what's happening....

Weely! And there was me thinking I was safe if I stayed out of the Oldlings!

Rove was good tonight, the Hamish & Andy ghosting thing was hilarious. V. sad that Mika hasn't been in AUS since this time last year.

  11. Ok, so I've made the random (and expensive) decision to see Mika in concert. Considering it is winter in Australia, that I haven't been to Europe before, and I missed Mika on his promo in Australia last year, I am pledging to make the pilgrimage to the other side of the world to see him.

Does anyone have a spare ticket, I'd love to see the Paris concert, but I'd consider anywhere (after consulting an atlas).

    Let me know...

    B.

  12. :lmfao: :lmfao:

Oh, and this is what my brother just said:

Brother: "Hey, I'm going to see Kisschasey next week, they're doing an underage gig too if you're interested."

Me: "Brother, just think about what you said."

    Brother: "What?"

Me: "Get a calculator or something."

Brother: "What? 23 - 4 = 19 .. oh, right... Well, they're doing an 18+ gig too, do you want go?"

I wonder how old he thought I was? *sigh* Stupid siblings, what are we to do with them ...

You should def go see Kisschasey!! I met the drummer at the MTV Awards a couple of weeks ago, and he is the coolest/funniest guy (apart from Mika... that goes without saying).

  13. This did really happen. Even worse, a friend had given me a lift and he thought it was hilarious. I knew vaguely where the new house was, but it was still a building site the last time I'd seen it, so we had to drive round and round all these new houses until finally I recognised (of all things) a cactus on the windowsill.:lmfao:

Hi, we've not spoken before, I'm Silver and this is my friend

    :pbjt: Dances With Bananas:pbjt:

Nice to meet you! And THANK YOU for the happy sunday photo of Mika!

  14. all of your songs are saved as files onto your ocmputer, maybe in a file called my music?? Well gather the files and send them in an outgoing mail attachment to you other computer, then open them and save them to your computer, and then open them from those files onto your new itunes.

Thank-you! Sounds like someone speaking from experience!!!

Am contemplating reading the instruction book so I know how to work this thing, but at least I've figured out how to access MFC and now, thanks to you, I can get my itunes back in action! Those are the important things covered off...

  15. Hahaha ... I love the word 'dunny' .... so homely !! :roftl:

WOOT !! Welcome back bexstar !!

Hooray ... I use Mac too .... we are a rare breed around here .... :roftl::wink2:

So I can ask you how to use the MAC??? I have never used one before, but randomly decided to buy one. Does anyone know how I can get my itunes from my old laptop to the new one??? I'm considering this matter a state of emergency.

  16. Well, until today I only had internet at work, and I really had to tone down my internet usage...and well, I had to sacrifice MFC. SORRY!! So I bought a new Mac book yesterday, and it took me about 10 minutes to work out how to access the net (I don't read instructions). Anyways, I'm back to MFC!

  17. So, Channel V are the only Aussie channel broadcasting the Brit Awards - but they are showing it on March 13!! What the?

If anyone knows if another channel has it on earlier please let me know!

Nothing like watching something a month later... but it's another show to store on the Foxtel IQ. I can't yet bring myself to delete the Graham Norton Show or Introducing MIKA that I recorded over 6 months ago.

    Hope everyone is well..

    B

  18. ^^^^^ LOVED IT.

Have you considered writing a blog? You have a very humourous and effective way of telling stories :D

Maybe I should write an autobiography? That weekend was the tip of the iceburg!!! To be fair, my life is a series of misfortunes that for some reason I (and observers) find very amusing.

Other than last night *2am* convincing a complete stranger to drive me home on his boat (I was at New Quay and he was having drinks with his mates on his boat docked there - I live up the river a bit), this weekend was uneventful. Boat ride was fun, yet short, but I opportunistically by-passed walking through the park and having a go on the swings. Kept clothes on until well inside apartment (things are looking up).

  19. For my friends I email out a weekend update (my life seems to be remarkably eventful). Here is my update from 2 weekends ago... you guys would at least appreciate the 'Over My Shoulder' part of the story... enjoy.

Saturday. 38 degrees. Went to friend’s birthday party at her house in Abbotsford. No air con. No fan. Decided it was a fabulous idea to re-visit 1992 and purchase a six-pack of West Coast Coolers from Vietnamese dodgy bottleshop (six-pack possibly in bottleshop since 1992). Consumed many Westies and also 4 smirnoffs and at least a bottle of wine from 7pm-11pm. Was trolleyed. Midnight: walked to tram stop. Admired orange knit dress in the Vinnies window whilst waiting for tram. Got off tram at Spencer St & walked rest of way home. Sang “Over My Shoulder” at the top of my voice whilst walking (lyrics changed to hot... drunk....late...tired) and stopped at docklands park for a go on the swings. Wobbled the rest of the way home, and it is very possible that I took my dress off after getting off the lift at home, before getting to my front door.

So, seeing as how I've told the world about taking my dress off in my apartment building, I may as well give you part 2 to the story... the Sunday (a few hours after arriving home from part 1)

Sunday. 24 degrees. 8am. Sarah & I drove to Portsea for a day at the beach. Stopped at Starbucks for coffee in Port Melbourne before the journey began. Walked to Bakers Delights from Starbucks for a chocolate croissant. Walked back to Starbucks for a second coffee. Drove to Portsea. Croissant and coffee made me feel sick (by-product of hangover from Westies and the fact that I don't like Starbucks coffee). Arrived at beach. Windy and cold, yet I still swam and managed to get sun burnt. At beach car park realised I had a grain of sand stuck on my eye ball. Tried removing with finger. Tried pouring water in eye, much to the entertainment of me and others (including a Tarago full of Japanese tourists) passing by. Sand still in eye. Sat in the front of Sarah’s car (convertible with the roof down) and Sarah tried to remove sand. Sand still in eye. Had no tissues. Considered visiting emergency room. Decided was not an emergency. MacGyver instincts kicked in and decided in lieu of tissues, to use tampon to remove sand from eye. Didn’t work, so Sarah tried using the tampon to remove sand from my eye. Guy driving past thought we were pashing and nearly crashed his car cause he was gorking. Sand eventually safely removed from eye (with finger – note: tampons do not work in removing sand from eyes), and am so far not noticing any permanent damage to my vision. Made it home without further incident, listening to Mika all the way.

  20. I loved this story - you seem to be a very naughty girl - you'd better be careful you don't get told off here :naughty: :naughty:

I think I could easily be friends with you, I'd be singing right along beside you :thumb_yello:

For the record, I don't condone drinking, nor going on playground equipment whilst drunk. And the taking off the dress thing was because it was SO hot. And I was drunk. So please, all under-ages - don't follow my actions on drinking or undressing in hallways of apartment buildings!
