I wrote my report a couple of days ago, but something went wrong and I deleted everthing Didn't had time to do it all over again, so I'm gonna try now

We arrived at the venue around 9:00AM, after I had to wake at 4:15AM () and got number 25. Queuing went quite slowly, mainly because of the cold and the rain.. It was really nice to meet all the MFCers, since it was my first Mika-gig! We had to practice the queue around 2:00PM. Also stayed in a restaurant for a while, which was really nice after all the hours outside! When we went back to the queue, it suddenly went a lot faster and we were able to get in. Security told us we were allowed to go in 10 minutes before the queuers without a number, so I got front row, exactly in front of iMMa! Didn't really liked the support act. They also didn't show up on the stage, which was a bit disappointing. I guess they would have more interaction with the crowd if they did show up on stage. Mika was amazing, what a voice and what a show! Mika's voice was even better live as I expected! Everything was better as I expected it would be! I realize now I really have to work out, since I was already gasping for air after the first song After the gig, AMP and I went to the cloakroom. I was SO tired, so I just sat down on the dirty floor After a couple of minutes I felt a lot better, and we all waited for Mika outside the venue. It didn't took as long as I expected, we didn't had to wait for more than one hour. Mika was in a rush and he already passed me by before I knew it! Luckely I did got a signature and I was able to give him the chocolates I brought. I fcked up the line I was saying a little bit, since I got really nervous when he passed me by Can't even remember if he looked at me, or smiled at me or said thank you

We went home quite fast after the M&G. I was exhausted, but after this day it didn't matter at all

I did took some pictures during the first song of the gig and during the M&G. The quality isn't that well, but I'll post them anyway

Oh I had a fight with my dad after the concertgebouw. He had to wait for more than a hour or something, he was angry, but he waited because he knew how much I wanted to meet Mika. So that was kinda sweet . But now he just says that it's my own problem how to get home, and that he would NEVER pick me up from a Mika gig again.

He told me I had to call him when we wanted to go home He also told me he would be near Amsterdam, so I'll call him after the gig to hear where he is and call him again after the meet and greet He won't be angry, it didn't matter what time it would be Maybe he changes his mind next time, but hopefully I have a drivers license by then

This makes me doubt about what to wear: I intended to wear a warm vest and a warm shawl. But knowing there's a cloakroom....mmm... perhaps wintercoat then?

Or maybe not:teehee: I will decide later, probably friday morning...!

I can't decide anymore as well, my winter coat fits in my bag though (just tried )

if the amsterdam weather is like in munich today (and that's what the weather forecast says), i definitely wouldn't recommend a summer coat. might be ok for 1 hour outside, but not for a whole afternoon.

 

anyway, it sounded like that venue has a foyer, so maybe they can let the numbered people inside that foyer earlier, so we won't have to be in the cold+rain until the doors open. :rolls_eyes:

 

 

 

doesn't matter if you wanna wait for mika afterwards, then you'll have all the time in the world to pick up your coat! it has become even later meanwhile til he comes out, paris was 2 am, and i think some other french gigs also 1 am...

I still hope the weather forecast will come up with something better, but if that won't happen a summer coat is too cold indeed.. But if the sun is shining for a while it gets hot in a winter coat

Okay, that's true as well Really? 2 am? My dad has to wait a little longer then, since he'll be driving me home

Good point. Although I've never really had to wait that long to hand in my coat. (Picking it up after the gig however... whole other story. )

 

You could always do what Mellody suggested and bring an empty plastic bag.

That would be an idea as well! I'm gonna try if my coat fits in my bag and otherwise I will probably wear my summer coat

You don't need to. The HMH's got a cloakroom and they don't charge you for coats. ^^

I thought that would take a lot of time.. I don't want to be outside for hours when I get to stay on a crappy place because I have to bring my coat to the cloakroom first

hello - as this is my first visit to Amsterdam so far I wanted to stay a bit longer than the concert only. So I am already here!!!! Amazing town, I can say, really! ok, a bit off-topic - have seen the Heineken Music Hall today, ehm it was really windy there - hope, you all in the costumes have a thick skin, but I think we still have grown these skin during many queuings before lol. Ok, see you all at least at Friday!!! can only hardly wait, cheers

You'd better bring an extra coat, or some blankets if you don't wanna freeze to death during Q-ing.

People asked at which time we start queuing, I answered honestly. You can't compare this gig to the ones Germany, this is Amsterdam and loooots of MFC'ers are coming. I would compare it to London, actually.

 

I hope things will not be as crazy as in Paris. But it wouldn't hurt to be 2nd row either, would it . Tho I would really like most of the people who are dressed up be first row, that would make an awesome view .

How big is it ... does anyone know ... I know Milan was about 8,000 - 9,000 - and I know these shows are supposed to be bigger ... does anyone know crowd venue capacity ...

I thought the capacity in Amsterdam is also 8000.

This is my first real gig ever. Yes, I have been to the Concertgebouwconcert last year (see sigpic), but never to such a thing as a gig in the Heineken Music Hall.

Therefor I have to ask these, possibly quit naive, questions:

 

Do you guys wear coats?

Where do you put your stuff like money etc to keep it safe?

 

Do you have any other good advice for people such as me?

 

 

And: is there already made an appointement when and where we meet?

At what time do we start queueing?

Nee, dat moet wel lukken denk ik. Bovendien zijn MFCers ook als ze niet verkleed zijn redelijk makkelijk te herkennen. Ze zijn t eerst bij de venue en je kan ze gewoon niet missen.

Leuk dat je toch komt, ook al vinden je vriendinnen Mika niets!

Er zijn genoeg MFCers hoor, dus je bent vast niet lang alleen.

(Ik ga vaker alleen naar concerten, en zelfs bij veel andere artiesten, waar geen fanclub is om bij te gaan staan, zijn er altijd wel mensen die tegen me gaan praten. Eigenlijk is t altijd wel gezellig bij een concert. Wat ik wel aanraad: oordopjes. Serieus. Geen piep in je oren en t klinkt allemaal nog beter ook. )

Ja en het zal vast niet moeilijk zijn om MFCers te herkennen nu ik van het Alice in Wonderland-thema weet Ik wilde ook graag alleen gaan, mijn vriendinnen vinden Mika niks en ik heb ook geen zin om met mijn ouders te gaan En dankjewel voor de tip!
