  1. A very very nice gesture, happy children. Reminded me I'm able to donate blood again.

Hm, and I love the pants. :)

About donating "for a pic", well I'd say its ok. Since we see it, since people start noticing and understanding the importance of collaboration - it works. Publicity and famous faces have always been used to promote good causes, not that those people make up the whole "income" (whatever that may be: money, blood, volunteer work etc.) of a particular cause. However, no one can say they do not like what they do and do not feel it. Just my opinion though.

  2. and now as our president has less brain than a mushroom he is selling now the national lottery... i mean... they are going to make it private (sorry,my english...) it gives LOTS of money to the government each day,but since they need to balance the national budget, they need to sell things to increase the state revenue... of course they will save next balance, but they don´t think they are going to stop receiving lots of money each day... i don´t know... but i don´t think it that difficult to solve problems... if instead of thinking about how to increase their pockets, they would think about doing things fine,i really think it would be solved in a couple of years... but courruption is all over the world i guess.....

Oh yeah... Since I'm on Erasmus in Barcelona right now I hear all these news about selling National lottery and privatization of Aena (airports Barajas and El Prat, that is, right?) and other cuts. Moreover, since I'm in Catalunya, I hear so many complaints about Madrid's policy towards this Autonomous Community and the way it's being treated unequally. Now that the right party has won the majority here, wonder if the nationalist aspirations will emerge and become more prominent in the politics.

About retiring in Spain (who said that, I'm sorry, didn't click the quote button), following the explanation of one controversial pre-elections video, I think it's a perfect place in the south of Spain, but here, much difficult. That is, to be unemployed in Sevilla or Malaga is less of a trouble than in Barcelona.

But anyway, just saying what I hear and the impression I have after 3 months here. But maybe I don't get it right. :)

(By the way, I've seen Zapatero live, ha, he looks funny, but somehow lacks charisma, imo.)

In Lithuania's case... It's better to just shut up. But to say it first, in my view, there was no other choice since now we have the conservatives after social democrats who really used countries resources to the fullest. I see it all like this: whoever is elected before/in the time of a crisis is the one to be blamed and punished; whoever is elected in the natural end of a crisis will be the saviour and "the man". What I can see now is that pensioners and mothers are about to burn our Prime Minister alive. Massive cuts on pensions and other social spending. Unemployment peeked, though somehow stabilized right know, as far as I know.

Salaries, ah, make me laugh though tears. People are offered almost the minimum payment (before taxes) and are expected to have university diploma (master is better), experience of 2 years, know foreign language(s), have a driver's licence etc. And then wonder: why no one comes to work? And so we're in this stalemate situation when professionals do not make themselves cheap and employers do not raise salaries. The worst situation is for women, cause they are almost being interrogated if they have a family, plan to have children etc., and in the end no one wants to take the risk employing them. On the other hand, some women are not being honest, use their possible pregnancy as a weapon, work fictitiously and thus steal money for the Social Security. It's like a circle.

The government is searching the for solutions to massive emigration, but the truth is, there are no adequate solutions, just make it better here.

But for me, as a student, the biggest shock (though it will not affect me) was that last year (more or less) we had a major hight education reform, which ruined some of the students' plans to study and basically sold most on them to banks. And some of our studies are more expensive than in Oxford and Harvard, but the quality - a fool knows they should not even be compared. Nice, really nice move...

  3. And I think I see Enigma in these pics too???:wink2:

Yes, yes! :thumb_yello: It's a shame, really, I just didn't know her user name...

Hi! I'm still in Riga, and will be traveling for a week. But I will try to find a time and Internet connection to write my report.

    IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY FIRST GIG, AND I'M A LOLLIPOP GIRL!!!

Wow, you go! I'm so happy for you and your husband, who went on stage in Klaipeda! :biggrin2:

Foxxy, your pictures are just AMAZING! :thumb_yello: I was really afraid of smashing my camera in the fence, so I took it out only a few times. And it's old, damn that quality...

Rugilegile, I haven't read those articles, THANK YOU.

Oh my, those lines "Leaving hotel they thanked us for everything and said they will come back here" and the facts that HE booked rooms for warm-up bands, that hotel was astonished he is so down-to-earth and that he left Klaipeda only on Monday afternoon... It soothes my heart sooo much. :wub2:

(should've gone stalking in the morn :mf_rosetinted: not!)

  4. Oh wow, those sailor hats are indeed v. cool! :thumb_yello:

Thank you for your reports etc.

So InCulto was opening for Mika? I really like them! I guess they created a great atmosphere which made it easier for Mika to go on stage afterwards...

And it is amazing how he always memorises some sentences in ANY language we can think of. It really helps interacting with the audience!

Aha, he really got into the the mood of our "Sea Festival". :wub2:

There we 3 bands, actually. First was Piranha (or semething like that) from UK. I'll be honest, I didn't know what it was until I read it; and probably neither did the rest of the fans... This band was not listed. Then there was InCulto (at that time I couldn't control myself and save the evergy - jumping jumping!) and then Skamp.

EDIT: The first ban, according t another review, is from Belarus... I'm confused.

Plus, more official pictures. Yul$, you are there!!! :biggrin2:

http://www.zebra.lt/lt/laisvalaikis/renginiu_naujienos/Mikos-koncerte-perpus-maziau-zmoniu-nei-tiketasi-2010-08-02.html (don't miss pictures 10 and 11, it looks like a crowd, but that's Mika with John and security)

  5. Ha, it's already going, I think! Here are more official pictures and a show review. I will not translate it all now, but one paragraph almost made me fall off my bed. Must share. :roftl:

"Fans had a chance not only to hear good Lithuanian language, but also to see a perfectly trained body of the singer. While changing his T-shirt, he demonstrated such prominent muscles that it became evident that his constant jumping and singing at the same time is a result of long work-outs and great physical shape."

    :lmfao:

It also says he had a speaker in the air and a translator, that's why he spoke Lithuanian... Oh well, whatever, I still like it. :teehee:

  6. So, I'm gonna keep it short, cause it'll be more interesting to listen to those few girls who met Mika after the show.

I got was by the stage (yes, in the terminal, by the stage) at 12. There were other girls already waiting and making the list. I was so afraid it ain't gonna work, cause people are not used to such things here. (I had a nice chat with Dreamy_Queen and her boy was just...awww... I think he like my shoes :teehee:) Ok, so then Yul$ Mc Fuls came, we rewrote the list, then we saw John walking, Yul talked to him and success: the list will work and she's in charge! :aah: Me No.8

Then, basically, we were just hunting for more people from fan zone, burning in the sun (my cheeks looked SO awful, no wonder Mika would turn his eyes away whenever he looked at me...). To be honest, I wasn't very happy with the whole management, because ordinary people were allowed to walk in the terminal for very long and then they were in such rush to move them out and put the fence... But, we got to be next to the stage while it was being constructed, checked, etc., which is cool. :teehee:

At 6p.m. they opened the gates. After all day on feet and in the sun, I was already tired by then. Security let first 10 on the list in, and then it tured out it's too early. Ha, well, we were waiting there, in the terminal, my the fence to fan zone for the right time. Totally VIP! :naughty: Anyway, I thought this manager from LTU was quite dissatisfied, cause warm-up bands were still sound-shecking.

We, the fans we in the front row, I was at the very middle, so that's at least some luck. The warm-up was cool, Martin came by the side of the stage to see how (and why) are we so getting funky with the InCulto. :biggrin2: I think he liked it. And then Mama P came, watched their song and later picked people to go on stage. Ah, she was walking just in front of us! One of our fan club girls went to be a Lollipop Girl. While they were preparing the stage for Mika (and fixing the Moon, which was dangerously becoming wane...), paparazzis came to the front and just started taking TONS of pictures of us and the flag we made. Man, I feel sorry for celebrities, I thing I've gone blind...

I cannot recall the correct order of the songs, but he started with "Relax" and the crowd just went nuts! His Lithuanian was so perfect, I meant, he was so glad he said "I want to introduce my band" right, he just quickly repeated it with that laugh... :aah: Everyone was just like "Ahhhh!!!"

I think he really meant it when he said he wasn't planning to play the song, but he will. And so he sang "Over my shoulder". He also did "Sweet Dreams", it was really really really amazing. The bugs were flying all over the stage, so while sitting at the piano, he said something like "I know I've said it before, but it's a [huge] fly over hare...", picked something off the mic and threw it away. After a few moments he made sort of a "eewww" movement with a hand over piano and said "It's a f***ing beetle!" Jeez, I'll remember that for a long time.

At the end he said it was a pleasure to be here tonight, I hope it really was.

I wanted to go to the after party, went to the club, but it was already full and no one could get it. Well, at least I saw Mika's band by the elevator to the hotel, Jimmy saying something about "no Chinese..."

Mmmm, I think the rest will remember more and have better pics, cause I have just a few and most of them blurry. Not a very good report, I know. It's late and my feet are like cut off my legs.

Just my personal thing, but I feel this immense unexplainable sadness... As if nothing happend, like I haven't done all I could... Me and Karolina were SMS-ing each other as I walked home and my Mika message tone - "That's a little bit mean, ha ha ha, quite frankly" - just gets me down, down, down... I think I'll go to sleep now.

  7. YKYAMF

When, in a music store, you take a couple of Mika's CDs and place them in the "best sellers" shelf...

i really did that :roftl: Let's hope they'll stay there a while before anyone notices!! :roftl:

Wow, I wish I could do that! :naughty: They have the best-sellers near the window, almost by the glass, so there's no way to do it without notice. :teehee:

  8. Which one??

Valentine's Day it not out yet :wub2:

That was in 2007, I think. Me and my friend went to the cinema and saw a preview of "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry". And Grace Kelly starts playing, we look at each other like: "That's Grace Kelly!!!:aah:...(silence)...... We're so going there!!! :biggrin2:"

So, we went and after the film we were like: "...(silence)......:roftl::roftl:" The song was JUST in the trailer, not the movie. What did we two stupid girls expect, I dont know.

Anyway, who on earth goes to a film just to hear a song??? :aah:

By the way, here's the "famous" trailer:

  9. And i've been reading the "Twilight" vampire saga since Xmas...:lmfao:

I was eager to read it before Christmas. Or to read "Harry Potter" (at least the first book). :naughty: Think I got sick and tired of studies and better-read-3-times stuff and I seriously need some brainwash. :bored:

I also planned to read "Lovely Bones", cause there's a film coming out, and I don't want it to spoil the book. Maybe it's a better idea than Twilight?

  10. No Lithuanian? Ok, I'll try but it sounds so artificial...:teehee: Didn't know which gender to use for the person he's referring to, so used brackets.

    Lietus

    Ar tai tikrai būtina?

    Kiekvieną dieną

    Mane vis labiau paprastini

    Visais įmanomais būdais

    Šis įprastinis protas palūžęs

Tu tai padarei ir net nežinojai

    Su neištartais žodžiais palikai mane

    Geriau atsitrauk, nes aš pasiruošęs

    Daugiau nei tai,

    Kad ir kas tai bebūtų

    Brangioji(-usis), nekenčiu tokių dienų

    Aš spąstuose

    Negaliu žiūrėti atgal

    Brangioji(-usis), nekenčiu tokių dienų

    Kada lyja ir lyja...

    Rain

    Is it really necessary?

    Every single day

    You're making me more ordinary

    In every possible way

    This ordinary mind is broken

You did it and you don’t even know

    Leaving me with words unspoken

You better get back cause I’m ready for

    More than this

    Whatever it is

Baby, I hate days like this

    Caught in a trap

    I can’t look back

Baby I hate days like this

    When it rain and rain...
