  1. Well I had an absolutely awesome time despite being full of cold and having swollen tonsils - today I can hardly speak and have had to cancel a meeting I was meant to be at as I feel too ill. But it was fab just to see him live again (last time was Heaven in the summer and it feels too long!)

However despite me thinking it was an amazing gig and me loving every minute of it i do agree with much of what has been said above. Was v surprised he opened with a french song and didnt do Emily (not that I am keen on either english or french version of that). I really dont like celebrate and am over seeing WAG, and wanted to see kids and heroes live so was disappointed not to see them :(

I also (sorry) didnt like the polka dot choir - this was the first time I have seen them and I thought it didnt just not add anything but even made the performance worse as they werent dancing in synch etc. I also thought popular wasnt as good as I had hoped (and it is one of my favourite songs on the album) so was disappointed by that

This is not, however, a bad review as overall I still had a mindblowing evening - just that I would have liked a few things to be different ;)

Sorry I didnt get to catch up with anyone - was in the queue just behind Sara and Jemma and Danika, with a friend. We couldnt get there early but when we saw the size of the queue we chose to have another drink in the pub opposite and go in at the end when the queue was going down. We stood at the back, near to the sound desk. Mainly a really good view :)

  2. home after a 12 hr bus journey .... the things we do for a mika fix  oh yeah the gig - ballocks pretty sums it up for me ! i was expecting to hear all mika`s new songs not the same old pishy billy brown then to top it all after the gig there was a comp running for 30 lucky people to hear mika`s new songs & they would be told who had won when my bus was leaving for home .... poor poor poor! so for me the best part of my wee visit to London was the meet-up with my fellow mika fans :huglove:

was fab to meet you :thumb_yello:

  3. Seems to me that Lana Del Rey is as interesting as the Tindersticks, judging from her music.:mf_rosetinted:

am with you there..... she holds no interest to me

However, Holly Johnson? saw him live last summer and he was amazing! I was never a fan and wasnt keen on him headlining rewind last year but he blew everyone away. Was very impressed!!

  4. Very quick not-really-a-report report ;)

I had an amazing weekend - got home 2.30am last night. This is just a quick non-report as have loads to catch up on now but I wanted to post my pics and to say thank you to Laura, Luke, Ingie, Treasa, Rose, Kath, Buttons, Abby for a fab weekend (hope I havent missed anyone?) had so much fun with you guys. Also was so lovely to meet others from the MFC who I havent met before. Sorry to those of you I didnt get to talk to much.

Ended up with front row (just right of centre) with Buttons, Treasa and Luke. Right in front of iMMa who was a lot of fun. Like everyone else, hated Tindersticks (and the rain!) but loved Mika's performance, despite it passing by too quickly

Went to the 'non-M&G' with the others and couldnt believe how crowded it was. I have met Mika before so decided to pass Luke my ticket to get it signed, and I went and stood away from the crowd with Kath (on a wall so we could see him clearly). I will have other opportunities to talk to him I am sure ;)

The hotel was lovely, the people were lovely, the weather was fab (apart from the rain during the festival) and I have come home feeling very chilled

    :)

  5. just a quick report from me as a) most people have said what i want to say and b) i only had a flying visit, arriving in Edinburgh 9.30am on Mon and leaving again by 8am Tues!

I arrived at the queue at about 12noon, with Jazzy and my friend Ruth (tealstar21). We were numbers 34/35/37

Had a lovely time in the queue, meeting some new people and chatting to others i had met before. Ruth and I then went off to lunch with Jen (Jengafer) to the pub just down the road. It was manically busy inside so we sat outside - Jimmy came up to us and asked us if any of us had a light, but sadly none of us did so we couldnt help. He then walked up and down the road by us for a few mins on his mobile phone before going back in to the stage door.

I ended up being 2nd row to the right hand side of the stage, behind Nightbird (who is lovely but VERY tall :roftl:) but despite that I had a great view. Was rocking away with Freddie, Ruth and Jengafer.

Unfortunately we had some teenage girls behind us who were determined to push and shove throughout :sneaky2: and one of them had her fist in my back for the majority of the show. When i asked her to stop her dad told me to stop picking on children, and the other teenagers with her said we should be more mature :roftl::roftl: and that i had obviously never been to a gig before :naughty:

At the end of the night I was punched in the back before the group walked away - nice behaviour!

Despite that though i thought it was the best Mika gig i had ever been to. Although his singing seemed not quite perfect in places (agree with the others who say he seemed tired) he put SO much energy into his performance, as did the audience and it seemed that everyone was just buzzing and the atmosphere was amazing

He looked gorgeous as ever :wub2: and there was a bit of eye contact too. Loved his reactions to the balloons, the blowers, the cups etc. Fantastic!! Thanks to everyone who contributed ideas, time, money etc into making that all happen!

After the gig I stood with Rose and Jazzy when they gave Mika the birthday present - he absolutely loved it :thumb_yello:

Am gutted that I dont now know when i will next get to see him :shocked:but it will be worth the wait i know....

Just to say thank you to everyone who i have met this year who has made me feel so welcome at the gigs i have been to *mwah* xxx

  6. ...now that's an idea!:biggrin2:

thanks Sharon and Ingie, I would love to wear it again, but will have to resist the temptation.

I've just had a thought -if it was the "Sharpie" pen that I've seen him use before I could do a test on an old T-shirt because I've got one of those somewhere. (We use them at work sometimes)

i also wouldnt want to wash off Ingie's masterpiece on the back (which you can see in my sig)... now she is famous and all that :roftl:
