  1. Not with a poem, maybe a few nice sentences.

Is there an 'official' way to respond?

(I have to log off now, but will be back later, thanks in advance!)

To my knowledge, there is no 'generic' way to respond per se, but the way i've always been told is to be polite and appreciative at the same time, so something like:

'Thank you for this amazing offer. I would love to attend' is a good start, but a little basic.

I hope this is helpful for the moment. I'll have a think about what you could write and post them up later. :biggrin2:

  2. My friend recently got a master degree in English. She's an English teacher, and did a study at university. She invited 5 friends (I am one of them:mf_lustslow:) for a real sophisticated english High Tea.

She send a lovely invitation card with a poem:

When the world is all at odds

And the mind is all at sea

    Then cease the useless tedium

And brew a cup of tea.

There is magic in its fragrance.

There is solace in its taste.

    And the laden moments vanish

    Somehow into space.

The world becomes a lovely thing.

    There's beauty as you'll see;

    All because you briefly stopped

    To brew a cup [...]

    AND YOU ARE INVITED!

    It's time for hig tea!

and then the time and date. And, very important: rsvp

I choose a nice card for my answer, but: I want my answer to be in English. And because she is a teacher with a degree....I want it to be in very well spoken/written English. Could anyone offer me some help? Please?

Well, do you want to respond with a poem or a few nice sentences or something?

  3. Get well soon Paloma! We're all thinking of you at this time. Our thoughts are with you and the whole family. Tonight, it is agreed that my year group at school are going to pray for you for 1 hour. I'm afraid that is all I can do at the moment, but more will follow.

We whole heartedly wish you a speedy recovery!

  4. Hi everyone,

It's a bit late but I sell 3 tickets for the Festival "Foire aux vins" in Colmar (France) next sunday (15th August).

Anyone interested? Please PM me! :thumb_yello:

Sounds so tempting, but have another Uni open day so I have to pass even though I don't want to.

    :sneaky2:

  5. Absolutely brilliant. :)

A mate of mine (who likes Mika) does fashion design and for her A level clothes portfolio she made clothes Mika styled for males and females. There was a show of the clothes (me as the main female model) and she gave me the clothes that she didn't need for her portfolio to keep. So I have some female replicas of Mika's clothes.

  6. I HATE Katie Price (Or Jordan as some people call her!)

What is the point in her? Everything she says is either a lie or she is cursing.

Like the story where she says she was raped. WTF. She never pressed charges and that would be offensive to anyone who has been raped.

Then the story that she had a miscarriage while she was doing that marathon then she said she had an abortion. MAKE YOUR MIND UP!

Then the story that she is selling her mansion because her tanning room is haunted then she says it's because there are too many memories of Peter.

AND who in their right mind would give a make over to their daughter who is like 4?

    It's sick!

    Team Pete all the way.

  7. Yeah well... It gets even more confusing when different people give you different answers :aah::naughty:

It's like that in my German lessons. The teachers tell me different things for the same thing that i'm trying to say.

Also, people from different regions say different things.

E.g. someone from London would say something different than someone from Bornemouth.
