  1. What does your family and friends think anout Mika?

    His music

    His artwork

    His videos

    His songs

    His style

    Etc?

Actually, none of my friends or family are as into Mika as I am. They listen to his music, but they aren't crazy about it.

Well, other than my sister loving Mika dancing around in his boxers in the WAG video, but honestly, who doesn't enjoy that? :teehee:

  2. Hi,

I'm originally from Montreal, I live in Philadelphia.

I'm an avid fan of pop music everything from the Beatles to Mika. I have a music blog where I review albums and concerts

    http://troy-star.blogspot.com/

I run Kylie Minogue's Canadian Fandom at http://www.kyliecanada.com

I've seen Mika live in concert in Montreal in 2007 on his first tour, and in Philadelphia in Jan 2008, going to see him again this Sunday.

Love both his album "Life In Cartoon Motion" was listed at #1 on my top 10 albums of 2007.

Welcome to the forums Troystar. I just joined last week, myself. I've already met plenty of other MFCers from across the globe. There are so many friendly people on here, and meeting them in person is even better, trust me!

  3. I spam my facebook with Mika constantly, and I've had three friends who have told me they bought the album after watching/listening to all of my Mika spammage. :naughty:

I do the same thing. Some of my friends love it, the other ones hate me for it. I just tell them that if they don't like it, then they can ignore it.

  4. I got my younger sister, who is a HUGE heavy metal, dark goth music fan to ask me if it would be okay if she burnt a CD of Mika songs from my laptop!!! I practically threw my computer at her :roftl:

My sister's into punk rock, but after hearing enough Mika, she started to really like it. She plays it to my 3 month old niece now, it usually calms her right down when she's fussy. :biggrin2:

  5. Not soppy at all! I think I know what you mean. I'm a sucker for sad/emotional songs.

On Monday at the Toronto gig, I was so happy that he was playing Happy Ending, but songs like Happy Ending and Pick Up Off the Floor just kind of command the audience to shut up and listen (and sing along at the appropriate parts). It's wonderful how music can just take ahold of your emotions like that, and Mika is great at it!

Does anyone else find it rude when a few people are shouting throughout slow, emotional songs, while everybody is listening and the performer, whoever they are, is putting their heart into their song?
