  1. Cold. :mf_rosetinted:

    ....:naughty:

I love in the smallest, crappiest, town you could ever imagine :mf_rosetinted: But aside from that :naughty: the scenery is very beautiful and in the fall it's breath-taking. Plus all the "leaf peepers" come up here around that time too :mf_rosetinted: lol jk they're usually fine :naughty:

leaf peepers, snowbirds, they're all the same :naughty: I live in a city-equivalent of generation clashes and retirement homes. Sunlight and 100% humidity is available all year except summer when thunderstorms ravage the 3 pm block and beyond.

  2. Yeah but I have a related question: Are you pro-Hiram McDaniels or pro-Faceless Old Woman? New York is snazzy. I was supposed to go up there a few times' date=' once to see Wicked and once to go to a concert, and both times my plans fell out. :< I want to visit there.[/quote']

I mean for the sake of diversity Hiram would be good as a five-headed-dragon mayor but the FOW appeals so much more. Although I can't say that now with the new episode out now:naughty: What about you? Aw that's sad, I hate when stuff like that happens. Hopefully that plan is fulfilled in the near future.:thumb_yello:

  3. Tell me about it! And Cecil' date=' Jeffrey and Joseph are all perfect human beings and i need to meet them. I wanna go to one of their live shows but they're always either nowhere near me or sold out oops :aah:[/quote']

SAME, they're never anywhere near me either but I hope that changes once I go to college in NY in august :aah: but seriously they are perfect

  4. Hi i don't think that there's a thread like this... so i decided to start my first thread:thumb_yello:. I would like to know a little about the other mika fans:mika3:

Now, to start the thread, i'm gonna tell about my self.

I'm 10 years old.I'm italian :italia: and when i was 5 i went to Timor (near australia) and lived there for 3 years (that's why i speak english)! In 2012 i moved back to italy and that's when i first heard about mika and i fell in love with him:wub2:, but only this year i found this website!

My greatest wish is to meet mika, have a good long talk and then sing with him!:teehee:

I'm Gabriella. I'm from Florida :usa:, 18 years old, and I just graduated high school, NYU bound!:cheer: I've lived here my entire life and would've been born in Kansas hadn't my grandparents given my biological dad (not around) a job. I have one older sister who's about to be in her senior year at college and my mom is engaged. I also write poetry and have put some of my work online and in a few anthologies. I first heard of Mika in 2009 but didn't become a hardcore fan until 2011. I've never been to any of his shows but hope to do so once I'm in new york. Meeting him would make my life complete :blush-anim-cl: and some of my dreams are to get a book published, be an opera singer, and be a renowned psychologist.

  5. I totally agree with you here about taking the "wait and see" approach. It's what I'm doing, basically because I really don't have much of a choice. Well, I have two choices, actually: I can wait and see what happens, or I can abandon Mika and stop being a fan. Since I can't imagine the latter, I have to stick with the former.

But still (and Kezza, I'm not addressing just you here, this is for the world in general) I'm not happy with many of the choices Mika's made regarding his career recently. As everyone says, correctly, it's his life and he's the one who has to live it. If what he's doing right now makes him happy, then that's great. He should go for it. :thumb_yello:

The thing is, I too have to live with the consequences of his choices. It doesn't mean I'm going to stop being his fan, but if he continues to do TV in countries that I don't have TV-access to, it not only means no new music/tour for me, but pretty much no Mika at all for me. Maybe it's being a bit selfish, but this decision of his makes me very sad, because it makes my life grayer. As Marilyn put it elsewhere, I thought by now Mika would be ruling the music world, and the fact that he isn't is, IMO, the world's loss. So, inasmuch as they affect me, I'll probably continue to express how I feel about these choices of his, if/when I feel like talking about them at all. For better or for worse, I think we all probably will. :dunno:

I don't think Mika will curl up in a ball and die just because I have a different point of view than his. And I'm not saying anything negative about Mika as a person, because I think he's a really nice person. (Just in case he's reading: You hear that Mika? I think you're lovely! :wub2: ) From what I've seen of him, I like him enormously. He's always been extremely kind and generous with me. So saying that I disagree with his choices means only that. I don't know his reasons -- I'm sure he has plenty of good ones. That doesn't change the fact that I'm sad about the choices he's made. (But I still love him to death. :blush-anim-cl: )

My husband teases me when I tell him about some of the discussions here on MFC by paraphrasing an old quotation: "The discussions are so vicious because the stakes are so low." :naughty: I get what he means -- that really in the greater scheme of things what Mika does with his career has no REAL effect on any of us. I mean, it won't change our relationships with our family and friends, it won't change our jobs or our economic status. Sure, you can argue that we'll have more money if Mika doesn't tour or make a new record :teehee: but you know what I mean. In the long run, what Mika does doesn't really count for a lot in our individual lives, so we should just put these discussions into perspective. They are just our way of analyzing and contemplating a subject that we all happen to care about very much. We have different opinions, but so what? That's what makes the world go 'round. This would be a very boring place if all there was to read was how wonderful Mika is in thread after thread, with endless photos of his lovely face/hair/smile/etc.

Even the most basic storyteller knows that to make a story interesting there has to be some conflict. Every Disney movie has a villain. Just like life -- you have to have a little adversity, a little drama, to keep things interesting. :thumb_yello: So I don't mind a little drama, a little conflict on MFC. Of course, remember that I said *a little.* :naughty:

So as I've said before, I think if you're happy with the way things are now in Mikaland, that's fine. And if you're not, well, that's fine, too. In either case, you can talk about it here. Just remember it's not a life-or-death discussion. There's no point in hating on someone just because they have a different viewpoint than yours. If you get tired of reading the discussion you can opt out. Just don't read it if it aggravates you -- but know that others have the right to say what they think here, even if you think it's just rehashing what's been said before. And finally, I think "agree to disagree" is a perfectly acceptable outcome to any conversation. :wink2:

    Agreed :original:
