Official audio has been uploaded to youtube!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmponDvIoGc

My guess for the lyrics . . .

Watch the sun set, hold it from afar
Close as I get to being where you are
While there's light left I sing this song for you
Don't know if you care, but every day I do

Here I stand, staring at the sun
Distant land, staring at the sun
You're not there, but we share the same one
Miles apart, staring at the sun
Distant dock, staring at the sun
One thing's true, just like you, there's only one
And I don't care if it burns my eyes
And I don't care, cause my love is blind
    From staring at the sun
Whoa, from staring at the sun
    From staring at the sun
Whoa, from staring at the sun

Send my love down in those rays of light
Through your window on your tired eyes
Say good morning, say it to the sun
Like you're talking, talking to someone

Here I stand, staring at the sun
Distant land, staring at the sun
You're not there, but we share the same one
Miles apart, staring at the sun
Distant dock, staring at the sun
One thing's true, just like you, there's only one
And I don't care if it burns my eyes
And I don't care, cuz my love is blind
    From staring at the sun
Whoa, from staring at the sun
    From staring at the sun
Whoa, from staring at the sun

So, for our latin MFCers, here's my translation to spanish :D (I wanted to do it because this is one of my favorite lyrics from the new album so far)

I LOVED THIS LYRICS, hope you like them to! Enjoy/disfrútenlas!

  2. I've been listening to it the whole day... First impression? I was thrilled to wake up to the complete version (got an adrenaline rush as I got out of bed and started dancing :teehee: )

The piano tune reminds me of his first album... but frankly I don't think it's a song that I'm gonna stop and dissect... it's catchy, it's joyful, makes me smile every time I play it :blush-anim-cl: :blush-anim-cl:

I'm just so happy to have new material to play, one step closer to the whole album!! SO HAPPY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKAAAA!!! from Mexico, I'm sending you all my love and the best wishes... thank you for all the music and the happy moments!! :huglove::huglove::wub2:

  5. Alina from Mexico: What’s your favourite thing to hear from your fans?

I love to hear how a song becomes a part of someone’s life. I write a song in, you know, in a little tiny room in front of a piano and it goes and it becomes something else. And I love to hear how that song can be transformed into someone else’s life.

"After almost a year, it is amazing to see my question again, I get excited whenever I hear him say my name..." Thanks for the transcript

HEY!!! yo también soy de México!!! jajaja

I got exited to hear your name, because we are both form the same country and I don't find mexican fans too often!, must have been awesome to see him answering your question!!! :thumb_yello:

  6. Mika thinks he is James Bond in Boum Boum Boum video

VIDÉO -The images that go along with the unbridled song of the British-Lebanese singer borrow to all styles of the seventh art:western, detective movie or thriller. A way to mock the holy masculine stereotypes?

We'd almost forget about the lyrics. The new Mika clip for the song Boum Boum Boum is shot in a bombastic way, borrowed to the movies .

There Mika made up to look like a Once Upon A Time In The West by Sergio Leone, as James Bond Doctor No style ( the first James Bond movie with Sean Connert and Ursula Andress, of course) He also revisits Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon, embodies Sam Spade, the private detective , who was played by the legendary Humphrey Bogart in the Maltese Falcon, or reincarnates as Peter O'Toole in Lawrence of Arabia.

For each character, there's a matching visual universe more or less caricatural : ranch, saloon, desert, intimate black and white interview, or flirting with a blonde girl out of a swimming pool. A video with an "ironical touch" even though we would have liked Mika s movie to be a bit more in synch with what's in his light and unbridled song about a gay couple love making.

"Yesterday, we were at your mother's , she almost fell on the floor when she entered into the dressing room where you and me were going Boum Boum Boum" sings the artist. He mischeviously alludes to "seventh heaven" in the "hotel lifts" and "the shelves going badaboum". In between Boris Vian red hot song "Johnny , fais moi mal" (Johnny , hurt me) and the enthousiastic ingenuity of Charles Trenet in his "Boum" song, Mika takes over this famous onomatopoeia of French songs history and twist it in a seductive way.

It is esthetically baroque and quirky.

Although the video doesn't echo the bold lyrics of the singer, it surprises because it is esthetically baroque and quirky which is a sweet satire of the most famous masculine parts in the movies. Boum, Boum, Boum is the first single from Mika's next album, which should be out in November. After having been a coach (and having won with Kendji) in The Voice ( a talent show) and after recording several songs in Molière's language ("Elle me dit"," Karen", Un soleil mal luné and "L'amour dans le mauvais temps),the artist said that a part of the album will be in French.

thank you so much Anne!!! :wink2:

I loved the article, I find the words "baroque and quirky" completely accurate for both, the song and the video! :thumb_yello:

  7. it is soooooo good! And its not even a case of no story, their is lots of story its just a bit hard to follow but I love it!!! He is def a gorgeous heroooO!!!!!

Also...am I the only one whos completely digging this....captured cowboy Mika? I wouldn't mind being the villain if he fell on his knees like that in front of me <3 the best part of it is you can see just how much of him their is...cuz even on his knees he's tall, did anyone else notice how short all the other male actors were? Funny if he did that on purpose lmaooo <3

I agree with this whole theory and glad someone else picked up on the sexual vibe I was picking up on, I found he was being just as sexual and suggestive as the women in the video without being as forward as they were, I mean some men have much more subtle ways of flirting. Im guessing you picked up also on the look he gives her when he lifts his hat at the desk just before he snubs out his cigar >.> delicioso!!

SURE! and when Mika Bond looks up at the girl by the pool, I mean, it isn't explicit, but... what do Bond girls do with Bond all the time!!? BBB!! haha

I loved it, it is a huge tribute to the old school movies!

  8. ok, so, after spending the whole morning and part of the afternoon watching the video... I can now express my thoughts...

the first time I saw it, I felt like it was a bunch of messy scenes. Then I re-watched it a lot of times, yes it is messy, but it makes a lot of sense to me.

My lecture about the different stories is, he's a man who has lived in all those different times through history, in all of them he has had "love stories" and even though it isn't explicit, there's a huge Boum Boum vibe in all of them. you can see how love and relationships have changed along the time, in Napoleonic, he was extremely polite with his loved one, when he's a cowboy he even gets a slap (maybe he was a womanizer in that era) then he's much more open and naughty in the detective scene... I love the way all this stories give us a parallel sense of what's going on, it could be "messy" at first, but hey! I think presenting all that in a linear way, wouldn't be as fun as it is!, plus, we get all the climax scenes in the exact climax of the song

Technically, must say, I've done some editing work, and it's extremely difficult, even more when you have huge amounts of material (and they surely had a lot of material for this vid) and the way they used the rhythm in the song to make the stories evolve... woooow! I'm truly impressed!

The work with photography, art design, costumes and make up is simply perfect...

About the homo/heterosexual thing... I guess Mika has shown along the time that he's extremely open about love in all of it's forms, so I guess he had a lot of fun making this video, and that is so good!

  9. I'm too tired to discuss it now, sorry, my head would explode if I tried to put my thoughts in a decent English. I basically agree with what Melanie said. ;)

Anyway, here's a part of chapter 2. The rest is coming tomorrow. Feel free to correct me if something is wrong. Enjoy!

M: So for you, Dario, what there is after death?

D: Well what happens in the Holy Scriptures? Jesus dies, before resurrecting he goes to hell and smashes everything, the door, the entrance that was closed. And he imediately frees the pure, clear men, and among them Adam and Eve, who had been punished and sent to hell because they had offended God by disobeying and doing as they liked. So he smashes everything and the first people he saves are Adam and Eve, the beginning of mankind, he rehabilitates it. There are some beautiful paintings from the VIII century, from the XI, etc., that tell this story. It is wonderful that Christ erases something that now is a whole religious discipline that contemplates birth with suffering, the sense of sin and guilt, and then the sorrow, being born with pain, the labour, all going on until death. And this was erased from the Gospel.

    M: When?

D: It’s all in Christ’s speech, he always speaks about the possibility of finding again the joy and the happiness among men.

    M: In life.

    D: While living.

    M: While living, yes.

D: Not after death, not in the afterlife, “wait and you’ll have the blessing", no.

M: Well then, if we find all this joy, this self-confidence*, this enlightenment when we’re living, what there is after?

*he uses a made-up word here, “balanza”, I’m not sure of what he meant. I translated it as if it were “baldanza”

thank you all so much for the translations!!!

turns out, I can actually understand part of what they're saying! haha I think it's a really interesting conversation, you can truly feel that Dario Fo is a real genius, and Mika is completely absorbed...

this video is completely different of what I'm used to see about Mika, and I'm so grateful for it!
