    I think all Mika hits from LICM are classics now in France, because of how much airplay they used to have and still have. But you are right, EMD was surprisingly his biggest hit here, everybody knows the lyrics at gigs, and I have to admit that now when I hear a radio presenter announcing a Mika song, I take it for granted they're going to play EMD (I'm happy when it is but happier when it's not; especially at the time Underwater was charting). So in that sense, I'd say that yes, in France, EMD has become THE Mika song; although in my opinion I wouldn't call it a masterpiece. And I think that for the French media, Mika also himself is a 'classic', a singer whose presence and success is undeniable. It's a good feeling :wink2:

     

    You've said all about the song in France, french peolpe know all the lyrics and they consider the song as a funny song, with a funny clip too!

    I think that younger people first think about EMD when someone talk about Mika. Older persons think about LICM songs, like Relax or Grace Kelly

    I wasn't meaning for the video to be explicit about it, just maybe a look, something like that.

    It's just that he's been more active in his involvement with the gay movement. They are starting to look up to him.

    The song isn't openly gay. It does work either way as a song about two lovers. But Mika has talked about his relationship with another man, more openly than ever before.

    For me, personally, his video can involve only girls. I know he's acting a role and playing a character. It's not really Mika he's only the actor.

    But I worry that not everyone will see it that way, and my concern is about him possibility being slated for being straight in his video, when in reality, he's gay.

    In the MYH video, there were comments about the fact that there was only one gay couple, who weren't very prominent in the video.

    It's just that I don't want anyone to be slating Mika. I don't want anyone to have any excuse to do so. I want this video to help him become popular again. That's all I really mean.

     

    We know that whatever he'll make, there Will be criticisms. What is important is to do what will most be liked and watched.

    So if Mika is hilmself, as he always is, that would be perfect. The problem is that he has said in the interviews (le parisien for example) that BBB was a little about his sexuality but the video won't show anything about it. That's why people will maybe slate Mika.

    I understand that Mika think the video won't have success if it showbiz his homosexuality, cause nobody has never done it but i hope he'll dare to do so, cause I'm sure people are gonna love it.

    Well one thing I hope Mika will take away from this, is that he should tour next year.

    People in other countries (not France or Italy) do need a chance to see him, and he does need to be performing again.

    I've not been against him doing the shows, but it would be bad for him if it was a regular job, because it wouldn't leave him enough time for anything else.

    It's good that these shows have helped him to feel more comfortable on TV. He always used to seem shy and nervous, he doesn't anymore.

    I don't mind what he wears. It's his own sense of style. He's unique, and that's good. But he just needs to get out of Italy and France for a proper tour. There's a whole world out there who he needs to connect with again.

    Apart from this, I'm not sure but I understood that you were expecting the bbb video to show Mika's homosexuality? Acording to me, after having heard what he said about the clip, he won't show anything (he'll be only with girls)... It made me disappointed.. I think if Mika showed his sexuality in a video clip, that would be loved by people, principaly in France, where it's a part of The news at the time.

    In France, I expected him to be #1!!!

    Surely they are buying it. It's a great song, in their native language, and I thought they all loved Mika.

    I feel so sad for him if his gamble (putting out a song in French) isn't even paying off in France!

    Maybe the video will help.

    Yes, he was expecting more than this too, I think... But we all have seen the photos from de video, and it looks great and ORIGINAL. People love originality, so we can hope that it will help a little
