My name is Julie, I live in France near Strasbourg.  

 

I have discovered Mika when he started out and when Love Today was constantly played on the radio, but I first disliked him (it's not an excuse, but I was very young) because of his high-pitched voice (shame on me!). Fortunately, time has spent,  I grew up, my taste got better and I started to like his songs. I believe that it was Happy Ending which "converts" me.  It was in 2011. At the time I listened to the songs in a loop, but I didn't know a thing about Mika himself. It's when I saw him in The Voice that I really discovered his shiny personality, his smile and his kindness.

 

I'm eager to talk to you, this forum seems an amazing place to be. Too bad I haven't discovered it sooner!

I know what it is to be bullied and I really wanted to do some thing about this topic. As someone Who was bullied for a bit more than 5 years, it was really important to me. I am now out of this but i'm still very concern.When this song came out, i was soooo unbelaivablely sad and happy on the same time ! At least, the best person of the world made à beautiful song about something so important and so real.

I'm glad That you've enjoyed it and i really wish you to be strong and bold for this beautiful life when no one is bullied or discriminated and i wish you to be heard and helped if you are still living this situation.

I really wanted to thank David, Belgianfan, with which I had a wonderful and very interesting conversation which made me do this cover.

Oh you're all welcome - it's my pleasure to try to give you something back, even if it's only an idea of what could be done!   Of course everything must be discussed with the mods of the MFC - if they think it's an idea they will go for.  They decide everything!    But I'm sure they'll do something special for the 10th MFC anniversary - and at least I can't come up with something better,  than try to involve  MIKA himself in the celebration of this amazing fanclub!   And if he can't , or don't want to,  give a little, exclusive private performance himself, as a birthday gift to the MFC - I'm sure he'd love to watch some of his creative and talented fans,  performing for him!      We're all here because of his music, and I'm sure it would be a wonderful moment for all of you,  to have him among "this audience" !    And if he won't be there, I think all the MFCers would LOVE to have your performances!  Of course this demands preparations of many kinds, and MIKA's a busy man - so it's obvious that he should be asked asap    BUT again - NOTHING must be done, of any kind, before you have asked the mods what they think about it!    If they agree, and think it's a good idea, they will surely take the responsability, for getting it all arranged.  Only they can do this...

Lots of wonderful new covers,  since I last wrote here!    I'm so happy that you keep up your good work, and share your talent, and beautfiul versions of songs, that  we all love!!     If I was a boss in the MFC,  I would really try to do as much as possible,  to use it  for the 10th MFC anniversary, coming up 5.1.2017    My highest wish then,  would be to ask MIKA to come and perform at a private party, where MFCers could celebrate 10 amazing years, and to gather all of you,  to be his choir, or to sing solo with him    If he can't accept an invitation from MFC, for one reason or another, I would ask all of you singers here,  to come and give a concert with MIKA songs,  for the happening  And if that's impossible to arrange, because you're all busy with school, studies, work etc. I would present your performings - at a big screen, where the party is hold!   Just some ideas, but now I feel that all your efforts, with these fantastic results,  should be used, and given the best attention possible.  You're all truly amazing - and I'm really proud of you !!!

I already told you I love your cover of 'One Foot Boy' but I can't say it enough. It's quite an up-beat song but you managed to make it soothing at the same time. Also, don't worry about how you look because you ALWAYS look cute, okay? The (lack of) lighting didn't bother me either, it actually creates a nice setting imo

And now you, Amye. What you did is MAGICAL. You poured your soul into the music. You gave me goosebumps during the "yours are the sweetest eyes" verse. You made me want to give you my heart and soul. THAT, that is Art.

 

You have such an amazing voice. You hit those really high notes and then go back down to grab the lower ones. And you make it look easy (God knows it's not!).

So, here I confess. Up until now, I have went through the period of about a month were I have not been able to sing at all because I have pretty much lost my voice, and I have actually been keeping up to date but never commented on your videos or posted any of my own because I was a bit broken hearted that I couldn't sing, and I felt lost. I've never not been able to before and to be truly honest, watching all of your covers made me jealous and I chose to ignore this thread. I am SO SO SO sorry that I let all you wonderful and talented people down by abandoning you. I don't want this thread to die, as I really care and am passionate about the community that I/we have created so I will be making a cover as soon as I possibly can as I have my voice back!!!

I would like to congratulate Selma on her wonderful hair, videos, guitar playing and voice, kuz you just kill everything you do and I am so proud of how you're getting better and better every video and just thanks for keeping this thread going, the way you make these songs our own really inspires me <3!!!

He wouldn't answer  . I find this exiting because France 2 has some qualityTV  programs and this could show us an other kind of Mika (different from TV shows like The Voice and X Facor).

I’ve been a Mika fan since last summer. I already knew him as a singer, of course, but I started to really love his songs since a few months   I have never been at one of his concerts but I hope I’ll be able to go this summer, I keep my fingers crossed!

What about me? I love reading, my favorite books are Harry Potter, Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) and Gli Ultimi Incantesimi (I guess in English it’s The Last Enchantments, by Silvana De Mari, an author that I love).
