  1. Hi guys,

With the suggestions, instead of thinking of Mika... what about focusing on the fans? On the mika-maniacs? Something funny or cute... like, "A seven nation army couldn't hold us back", "Mika fans unleashed and uncensored", etc

Other suggestions from Deano: "This is our interpretation", "Living life in cartoon motion"

Or maybe something more descriptive, like "Mika news for Mika maniacs"

    Any thoughts?

  2. Hi people! :mf_rosetinted:

In case any of you are interested, we have received this email from ABC News regarding Mika's performance on the "Summer Stage":

"(...) we're running a sweepstakes offering four lucky fans the chance to win a trip to New York City to see the GMA Summer Concert of their choice between July 13 and August 24. The winners receive a VIP package which includes airfare, hotel, tickets to the concert, and $500 cash to spend in the Big Apple.

We want to make sure all of Mika’s fans know about this exciting sweepstakes and the chance to see their favorite performer live in New York City. To that end, I’ve included a link to the GMA Summer Concert Sweepstakes registration page:

    "

  3. Thanks Babs.

The main issue is the fact that they list tons of press articles (all of which can be found on MFC), they list a tiny French forum (there are more French Mika fans on here), but they won't list MFC as a link.

It seems there has been some personal stuff going on behind the scenes, and now they are probably not adding MFC as a protest/sulk.

  4. We are a huge site for Mika!

We have ties with Mikas record label. Mika has said many times that he loves and reads this forum, we are the place with the most up to date and detailed concert and tour information, the most Mika photos, we have all the press coverage of Mika mentioned on the forum, and we are BY FAR the bigest Mika site on the net... including the official site.

I don't know what has happened with the mods of that page.

  5. For some crazy reason the admins in control of the Mika Wikipedia page are no longer including a link to MikaFanClub in the links section.

Not only is MFC the biggest resource of Mika info on the net, but Mika himself reads it.

To make matters worse, they are linking to a french Mika forum with a handful of members.

Recent events have proven that the people who are supposed to be controlling that page are not doing a good job.

So this is a protest to get a member of MFC to run the Mika Wikipedia page instead.

With a MFC member moderating that page, we can be assured that the Mika info on that page will be up to date and accurate at all times. Unlike the shambles it has become.

There is no other source on the net that knows more about Mika than MFC, so it makes perfect sense to have people who really care about Mika to moderate or help moderate the page.

If you agree with this, then please leave a message on this thread. If we can get enough people to support us, then maybe the mods at Wikipedia will take notice.

Also, do not bother trying to add MFC to the links section, they seem to have banned the url

However, you can raise your arguements on this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Mika_%28singer%29

Simply explain why you feel MFC is a valuable and unique source of Mika information, but please do not give any insults.

With the power of the real Mika fans behind us, we can ensure that the Mika page improves over the coming months and years.

    Thankyou

  6. The ways to continue to help the forum are as follows:

    1) Keep posting - There are thousands of new threads every day. If you cannot think of anything to create a thread about, then reply to someone elses post. The more ACTIVE members the better. :mf_lustslow:

    2) Link to mikafanclub.com - The more links the more people will see MFC. If you own a blog, myspace page, Youtube account, forum signature at another forum etc.... then you can link to MikaFanClub.com More links = more members :mf_lustslow:

    3) Donations - We recently upgraded the server, and the costs of running MFC are higher than ever. If you can donate then it will be greatly appreciated. However, do not send what you cannot afford. (We also have an IBAN code for international donations now. PM me if you want the details):biggrin2:

    4) Mention MFC on other sites - Most online reviews allow comments. So for example, if you see a review of Love Today, why not reply to that review and then at the end of your comment add something like "There are loads of Mika Fans at http://www.mikafanclub.com":thumb_yello:

    5) Continue to be the coolest music fans on the Internet - I have worked on many forums, but MFC is by far the coolest and most entertaining forum I have ever seen. We really appreciate every one of you.

    Thankyou.

    The Admin team

  7. MikaFanClub remains by far the best Mika related fan site on the net, and we couldn't have done this without YOU the members.

So as a thankyou from the admin and mod team, we have upgraded everyones PM limits from 50 to 100 private messages.

    Thanks again for your support.

  8. Hi guys,

I hope you don't hate me for this but... I listen to Chris Moyles every day and it really makes my work mornings a lot easier...

Ok, he doesn't "get it", and he sometimes can be an opinionated t**t, but I disagree with lowering ourselves to his level, or hating someone just because they don't think like you do.

Mika's music speaks by itself, he doesn't need DJs raving about him to be successful! I mean, he was number one for all those weeks and he would have been number one whether Chris Moyles likes him or not!

Another thing is that the other people at his show quite like Mika's records and say so when Chris says he doesn't. In fact, every time they play one of his songs, they spend about ten minutes discussing his music. This does not happen with just any artist, this only happens with the truly great ones.

Recently, I was told by a very wise man (you know who you are :wink2: ) that the worst reaction you could get from your audience (whether you are a writer, a singer, etc) is "meh" (i.e. indifference, boredom). I think this says it all.

I hope you get where I'm coming from...

The show must go on, baby! :punk:
