  1. i guess if your into indie bands like the Kaisers then most people dont have the diversity to reach out to mikas type of music

Fair enough, we're all entitled to like the music we like, but I will never, ever understand how people can limit themselves.

I love Kaiser Chiefs and I love Mika just as much.

It's good to like a bit of everything, surely.

The article; I don't think it was too personal. Simon even mentioned he liked the song originally.

It's just number one fight talk! I think more often than not, things like these are said by artists.

  2. OMG Thank You Thank You!!

Hooray!! Hooray!!... I got mine!! I'm gonna have one hell of a birthday month!! :roll1:

Has anyone been the the Sheperds Bush Empire before?? Which is better?seated or standing?

Would be nice if we all have MFC badges... be nice to put faces to names!! Secret Society Rossettes are cool too.. but I am still waiting to be added!!

Personally, I'd get standing tickets...but I do for any concert I'm going to.

Standing, there's a possibility (if you fight) that you can get to the front. However, there's also a chance you won't have the most amazing view. Or seats, you can guarantee being able to see...and avoid any elbowing going on down there :lmao:

I don't know what to expect, actually. I've not seen Mika before.

I'm guessing there'll be no crowd surfers and such?

  3. Ahhh I quite often do that. The majority of my friends aren't too interested in going to concerts, atleast to the extent I do anyway, so I'm stuck on my own. Sooo I travel on my own and meet up with people I've met online. Or people I've met at previous concerts and kept in contact with online, I'll meet with those again. It's great fun!

I don't really see too much of a problem if you meet at the venue where there's other people etc. :)

  4. I can't really add anything to what has already been said.

Mika performed very well, I really enjoyed the songs he played. The cancellation of the signing was disappointing though, as was the fact that there were only three songs.

Funnily enough, before I left, I was wondering how he was going to manage the signing and the performance later on that night. Especially as I'd just phoned up HMV, and they told me they were expecting it to be very busy. So I was half expecting them to only allow him to sign copies of the album up until a certain time; but they cancelled it instead.

  5. If your only option is getting a ticket through a tout. I would say wait til the gig starts, and then you can probably get it for 8 quid. Yes, you will miss the first song, but it probably won't be the last time you ever see him right? I know peeps that are going to like 5 MIKA gigs on his UK tour.....

    xoxoxoxo

I went to a gig last year some time, but had only bought one ticket. My friend travelled with me and planned to buy a ticket outside...and then they asked for £100! We had £40 with us, so we literally couldn't pay that price.

Eventually, the doors opened and we managed to get the ticket for £40. Soon after, just before the main act came on, we found somebody else who had just paid the face value of the ticket. So that's very true, they wait for the show to start and then begin to lower the prices.

We weren't TOO pleased with what we'd paid but...it happens

  6. How much?!

Ahhh. It's so infuriating when you see tickets going for those sorts of prices. The thing is, people pay it, so the touts get what they want.

I still think they should stop ticket selling on e-bay. Then those websites where you can sell/buy tickets for the face value helped to be made more..."known".
