  1. Oh Nooooooooo!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE that we missed out on this! We finally found a gig that allowed in the Mikamites, so we were THERE! We couldn't get there until the queue outside was WAY along the street, so we had no chance of being near all of you, but we SAW you down at the front, with your Mikafanclub card. We were up on the balcony. At least the children had a great view from up there - they're far too short to see anything from below unless they'd been at the very, very front.

But it would have been absolutely WONDERFUL to meet you all. Serves me right for not checking in here so much lately! RL just takes over sometimes... Ah well. I'm SURE there'll be a next time (sigh!) Gill xxxxx

  2. Hey Moni! Welcome!

There's a special thread devoted to the likes of us Mikaholics "of a certain age"! It's a very friendly place - we even allow the cheeky chat of the visiting Younglings who drop in. You'd be welcome anywhere!

  3. Hi all. Just heard Billy Brown on Ken Bruce show on Radio 2 (Thurs 8th, 11.40). Not sure if this is gonna be the new single:wink2: .

    Hi Jonahwood

"Love Today" will be the next single. Available for download from 16 April and in the shops as week later, I think. There was a Mika bulletin sent to some of us today - see this thread for more info: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1603&highlight=16+April

    Cheers,

  4. Oooh ooh ooh! Me too! Actually, I'd very much like to include something from our 2 Mikamites, because I don't let them on here as they're too young to go surfing solo. However, they ARE enormous fans and they're going to see him later in the year. Can I please include a page from them, with a drawing or two of theirs?

  5. Gorgeous isn't it. When he was on SKY all last week it showed it & I thought he sang it beautifully too -he's got such a versatile voice. Apparently he has an 8 octave range.

No way! There's no-one has a voice of that range. The exaggerations by the press are getting outrageous! I saw an interview with him in which the interviewer asked him about his 5 octave range (that's what most articles have claimed) but he denied it. He admitted to four. And even that's pretty incredible. But EIGHT? Not possible, and I'm sure he'd agree!

We have a grand piano with a longer keyboard than many pianos, and IT only has 7½ octaves!

Don't believe all you hear in the press! :wink2:

  6. Not long not long not long not long not long !!!!!!!

    Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    :thumb_yello::bleh:

I saw him at the Birmingham Barfly last night. You're in for a treat!

Now, I have personal experience of what the Haymarket can be like on a Saturday night. I might live down south but I'm a Fenham lass - grew up right next to the General and BOY do I miss Newcastle. So I can just picture you lot rolling out of the Crow's Nest and on to the gig, arms around each other, melted chocolate on your faces from the creme eggs, waving lollipops at everyone and singing at the top of your voices! :thumb_yello::thumb_yello:

    Have a FANTASTIC BRILLIANT AMAZING NIGHT ! ! !

...and don't forget to tell us all about it in the morning (probably about 1am!!!) :punk:

  7. WHAT A BRILLIANT NIGHT :D :D

The barfly was sooooooooooooo small you wouldnt believe it.

It's sorta hidden away in a street so took a while to find. Anyway, the doors were supposed to open at 7 but didn't till 20 to 8 !!! Never the less we were kept entertained as the bands tour bus was right opposite of us. We say EVERY member of the band passing by, Matin jumping into a luggage hold and Luke thinking my name was Oliver !! (it isn't btw :P)

So we got into the event VERY small as i've said and i nipped off to the loo, where i then saw Mikey who was putting his contacts in. Had a good chat with him about Mika's flu, past gigs here and even about Happy Ending Live !

Apparently, the record label also wants them to play it but because of the choir etc it could be tricky. Although, Mikey did say they were working on a version now but weren't going to start playing till Mika was happy with it, which is fair enough. Was a really nice bloke to talk to !!

We ended up around 3 rows from the front. Hats of to the support he did a good job and got people warmed up. Unfortunately, this then led to three quaters of an hour of NOTHING. Just music. So much so that people were chanting MIKA.

So, he came on to do his set. Luke and Martin both as Mika put it 'f**ked' up two different songs at the start (Martin --> Ring, Ring, can't remember about Luke though could have been Big Girl or Love Today). So he did his set. The crowd were amazing btw. Just checked the Grace Kelly performance on my phone and ya cant even hear mika most of the time !!!!

All in all, was a brilliant gig and it was so cool to get to meet and talk to the band !!

You guys won't be dissapointed !!!

Yeah - it wasn't the easiest place to find. But SO worth it!

  8. Wow that was good. He seemed so relaxed, and sang so well. No sign of a cold. I wonder if he wasn't just exhausted the other day.

I think we've been a bit spoilt though. Seeing him from RIGHT in front of the stage at Berkeley Square, it was a bit disappointing to find ourselves halfway back surrounded by people almost a foot taller than me. OK for hubbie - he's 6'3". Trouble was the traffic made us late - should have realised it would be so bad on a Friday night in the rain. Never mind - I'd go through hassle to get to see him live again and again and again...

So how come I didn't see any of you lot then? I had my badges on. I looked and looked but didn't see a single other MFC badge!! I guess it's because YOU lucky people made it to the front! :thumb_yello::thumb_yello:

    xx

  9. Hi Mika fans, hows it going? I'm one of the Big Girls from the Berkley Square gig (short hair rather than long) and I'm on the hunt for footage and pictures of the blue corset outfits we wore.

Does anyone have any decent shots they wouldnt mind sharing?

Here's the one I mean, on the morning of the gig at my corsetier's place.

If anyone is headed for the KoKo gig see you there, we'll be back shakin' our stuff!

    Chin chin

    Hi Ophelia

I was there, and though my camera was bust (damn - wouldn't you just know it!), t-mobile have now put pictures and video up on the streetgigs website.

Go to: http://www.streetgigs.co.uk, select Previous Streetgig and follow the links.

    Happy viewing!

  10. Out of curiousity, where did you order from?

In the same boat here :boat:

My hubbie rang the ticket agency this morning (seetickets) as they've still not turned up. You can apparently track your tickets on the website, but our order came up with the alarming message that THEY are still awaiting ticket delivery! When we called they advised us to take along the confirmation email and the credit card we used to pay. However, I think we'll also ring the Barfly to confirm that THEY will accept this on the door!

    Yikes !! :boxed:

Any developments with your tickets, Strudel?
