  1. There were these two annoying Italian people behind me who were PUSHING me from behind throughout the performance...then when Mika finished, they pushed ahead in front of me and my friend. THEN they left the second queue to join the end of the first queue because they could not wait an extra 10 minutes to meet Mika...and THEN when they got their autographs, they looked back at us in the second queue and gloated. I wanted to throw my CD at them.

  2. I wouldn't say spoilt as such, it was more of an annoyance. I was right at the front stage left though by the speaker so I couldn't really hear the talking so much- might have been worse further back. It was noticable though.

Hey hey, who were you? I was right at the front, stage left as well!

  3. I think Mika's standard set at the moment is those 10 songs. (Isn't the setlist exactly the same as the Berkley Square and Radio 2 gigs?)

Tonight's setlist is essentially the same as the Berkeley Square gig, but the song order was shuffled, "Ring Ring" included and "Everybody's Talkin'" taken out.

    Berkeley Square Setlist:

    Relax

    Love Today

    Billy Brown

    Everybody's Talkin'

    Big Girl

    My Interpretation

    Over My Shoulder

    Stuck In The Middle

    Grace Kelly

    Lollipop

    Koko Setlist:

    Relax Intro

    Relax

    Love Today

    My Interpretation

    Big Girl

    Billy Brown

    Over My Shoulder

    Ring Ring

    Stuck In The Middle

    Grace Kelly

    Lollipop

  4.

I can't believe you don't complain that it only lasted for 40 minutes!!! My impression was that it was a bit more for "appearance/universe" than for the music itself...

Okay, so yeah he really didn't play "Everybody's Talkin'" like I had thought.

Well, to be fair, he only has one album from which to perform songs from, so it's going to be a little on the short side, but I did not feel it was short at all...it's quality that counts, not quantity! I was so thoroughly absorbed for the duration of his set that I did not even notice that it was only 40 mins (was it really only 40 mins? It seemed longer?). Plus he prolly cut out "Everybody's Talkin'" because he was still recovering. I think we should cut Mika a bit of slack.

  5. He played "Ring Ring" too! Here is the setlist:

    Relax Intro

    Relax

    Love Today

    My Interpretation

    Big Girl

    Billy Brown

    Over My Shoulder

    Ring Ring

(Everybody's Talkin') -- it's on the setlist, but I don't remember him performing it...can someone confirm?

    Stuck In The Middle

    Grace Kelly

    Encore:

    Lollipop

  6. I hope Perez couldn't get too close to him. How was Over my shoulder? Did he sing it alone?

I saw Perez walk backstage with a whole crowd of people...not sure who they were, but they did not look like the average casual fan.

"Over My Shoulder" was sung with the same arrangement as at the Big Top gig at Berkeley Square. He was accompanied by two of his high school friends -- a female cellist and a male singer. A LOT of people were talking during this song...it's a quiet song, and you could here a roar of chatter in the crowd when Mika was performing it. I found that very rude of the crowd.

  7. Yeah, when I insert the disc, it opens the splash page, I click on the link to a registration site. It already has all my details entered in for me (creepy) and then when I submit it, it brings me to the Billy Brown screen. There is this java box on the right hand side where I am assuming is where the videos are supposed to appear in? But mine dies after a minute or two and it turns in to a red X. Then nothing happens, so I closed it. No videos were seen. No acoustic versions were heard. Help please!

  8. Oh I forgot to add that The Feeling (although I did not see Ciaran nor Kevin), Sophie Ellis-Bextor (who came with Richard from The Feeling, since they are, of course, married) and Oliver James (D-List movie star...starred opposite Hilary Duff in "Raise Your Voice") were there too. I'm sure there were more celebs there too, but I do not know many of the British journalist/dj ones because I am Canadian!

  9. Decided to post my review in the proper thread:

The T-Mobile gig was really something! There were circus performers, Brazilian dancers, a (s**t) local opening band (a group of kids from Kentish Town I believe is what the host said) who played 50s style swing and a Johnny Cash cover, magicians, toffee apples, cotton candy, huge lollipops, caramel corn and OPEN BAR (but there was only beer, soft drinks and vodka mixers).

The atmosphere was really festive. But I thought there were waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many opening acts. The first one was the kiddy band, then the dancers, then this couple from Las Vegas who stood on top each other (lol...that's what they did...), then there was Tumbelina who did some gymnastics with two cloths, then magic tricks...and then FINALLY Mika came on at around 10-ish and played a proper 10-song set:

    Relax

    Love Today

    Billy Brown

    Everybody's Talking

    Big Girl

    My Interpretation

    Over My Shoulder

    Stuck In The Middle

    Grace Kelly

    Encore:

    Lollipop

I'm so glad that I got to see him here at the T-Mobile gig cause I did not get tickets to the Koko show. I made a new friend at the show too who was just as much of a Mika stalker as I am, lol.

  10. Who was the guy who left HMV talking on his cell phone telling his friend that the whole thing was a complete waste of time? Was that anyone on here? I was stalking you for a bit to hear what had happened, haha. I arrived late to the HMV gig and only caught the middle of "My Interpretation" and "Grace Kelly". I did not even get anywhere near the stage! I was disappointed that he was not doing signings cause I thought that that had been promised...I mean part of the reason I was late was because I was buying the CD at Virgin Megastore down the street, lol (it was cheaper than the extortionist price at HMV). Plus I couldn't make it to his appearance at Fopp the week before cause I had exams all week. *sigh*

Anyway, I can't complain cause I was at the T-Mobile gig later on. My review is in this thread: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=467

  11. FOPP do wristbands for small artists too. They did for Nerina Pallot and that wasn't even half full.

HMV is a lot bigger. I went to the pipettes signing there which was no wristband needed!

zomg, you were at Nerina Pallot too? It was pretty packed for her though by the time she started. But yeah, they were not out of wristbands. Do they change the colour of the wristbands for every event they have??
