and at 3:10 of that song...mika, the cellist and the singer come together beautifully. such a haunting song. and it mixes together so well live!

didn't like RING RING as much as when he did it at other venues, though...too bad mika was sick a day before that might be why it sounded different..

but goddarnit that was unforgettable.

I do get sick of American cracks about British dentistry though. For goodness sake, this harks back to the last world war I think. And our ancestors had to do without more than a few fillings and braces too! I am older than I care to admit and have had regular dental treatment every 6 months since I was a small child. (as well as - shock, horror, - brushing my teeth morning and night, with toothpaste! and an electric toothbrush now, oh and a bit of flossing and mouthwash thrown in for good measure )

Let's put this urban myth back into history where it belongs.

Perez is a rather fascinating phenomenon, and seeing as we've pretty much created him, hating him is such a drag...

He's funny and pretty smart, and his stance on outing gays, however you might see it, has been pretty brave. Would he let a crush sabotage his hard-earned credibility in gay politics? Only time will tell. However, there's no reason to hate him, apart if you're a nasty celebrity. He never really picks on nice people... and there's method to his madness.

 

Oh and come on, he's got amazing taste in music!

mm, a method to his madness... i'm sure there is one, though i really can't make it out! from what i see, he's quite at ease with praising someone one moment and calling someone else...er, firecrotch, the next.

Just a quick post... Yeah, it was great.

 

The Champs-Elysées performance was presented as something "unplanned" : Cherisses was taking time to get ready at the battery, so he started saying "Cherisse ?? It's when you want, etc." and then, still waiting for her, started singing Champs-Elysées... Don't know again if it was planned, but it was a good idea though : how to put people in his pocket (people who don't need anything to be in your pocket !!)...

 

Then the show was great, short, I mean the same lenght as the others, and he even sang Holy Johnny whereas it wasn't on the list !

 

Same end with costumes, and lollypops, and balloons...

 

But we didn't get the "Mika with pics" !! I was with Fadette and another girl who is not on the forum, we were the first getting autographs, but he said from the beginning he didn't have time for pics So we didn't have pics with him, and i don't think others did... He was quite in a rush actually ! The staff was saying he had an "appointment"... Yeah, right, in the middle of the night ??? Guess he was just tired, or going to the after !

Anyway, we still got our pics with Cherisse (awsome girl, such a sweetie !!) and Michael... They weren't in the same rush, at all !!!

 

And to kill the suspense, sorry to disappoint you, but he didn't recognize me AT ALL Even with the "Olivia" autograph... Didn't ring any bell to him ! But i really think he didn't look as cool as he seems to be in all your gig reviews... Don't know why... But he was definitely very kind and sweet.

 

Oh ! And the support band was very good too : Mr HUDSON and the Library... They will be touring with him all the way through Europe... They have a myspace too : i think it's myspace.com/mrhudson, or something lke that... Will correct it later !

mika is really REALLY polite to his fans. i met him at a toronto interview and he was very kind.

i was INCREDIBLY excited that day because it was such a whirlwind! the music station hosting the interview previously didn't allow me on the show because i was not 16 yet, but Tia (such a sweetheart! ) called the toronto station headquarters ALL THE WAY from the UK to convince them to let me go cause i was a huge fan! needless to say, they called that day and let me in! it was such a rush to get to the interview an hour later and i was super-excited to finally see mika, but he was still very polite.

talked to him a bit about the love today video (had just seen it on youtube cause it isn't shown here in toronto) and told him about sivan's present...

that's when he said that he knew about the scrapbook idea and was excited abt it, seeing as he went on MFC often !

there was a boy at the interview who gave mika a booklety thing saying that "mika is more delicious than a falafel"... and mika personally pointed him out the next night during the toronto concert. it's things like that that make us happy to be such fans!
