  1. Hi everyone,

Cubes, if Mika doesn't do a concert in Lebanon - I think you'll have to take his place and serenade Beirut with Relax :roftl:

Thanks Monshi and everyone for your nice messages, and I really liked the pictures in the last post too.

Welcome to our Spanish friends :thumb_yello: Actually my Mum has just moved to Spain - to a little village called Guajar Faraguit - do you know it? It's in the south and it looks alot like Lebanon with the mountains and things - I hope to visit there soon...

Well, hope you all have a good day :)

  2. Sorry, but I think it's really creepy - leave the guy and his family alone in the privacy of their own home... I mean, who here would like a bunch of people chaining themselves to their house?

I don't mean to offend anyone, but I had to comment 'cos it's just too creepy!

  3. Hi everyone,

    How are you today?

I went up to Aley today and saw the damage from the bomb - Cubes, you've been to Aley before so you'll know where it was; on the main street, alot of the shops are damaged quite badly.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hi and lets keep our thread on page 1 :)

  4. I'm still alive :)

Well, after my last minute cancellation of going to Beirut the other night and missing the bomb in Verdun, tonight, I was so bored so I was insisting on going up to Aley but at the last minute we decided not to go... then about 20 minutes later, the bomb went off.

Cubes, you know the main street in Aley? Where they have the clothes and baklawa shops? It was there.

Us Druze are known to not take these things lightly, so am not sure what's going to happen as the men in the street were going crazy and shouting for revenge... It's not looking too good...

Anyway, I must have a guardian angel cos I survived Gaza and beirut and now this week :)

    Anyway, hopw you're all ok.

  5. Hi everyone,

OMG - did you see the news of the 2nd car bomb tonight? I was going to go into Beirut tonight but decided against it thank god because the bomb was on the route I take.

I watched the news crying - I feel a bit stupid but I know you understand that when you see the pictures on tv of the country you feel strongly about, it's just too sad...

I mean, I curse the place most days (like everyone who lives here) but there's no way I want to see all of this happening. I dunno, it's just a mess.

Cubes, I hope your family here is ok and safe.

My Mum and my brother and sister are worried sick and want me to go as soon as possible (as I was planning to go to London so I can get a job there) but I can't leave until I've finished my things here and anyway, why should we be bullied in to leaving? Look at all of us, spread all over the world because of war... and when I left Gaza, I thought I wouldn't cause my family to worry anymore.

Sorry for ranting on but I had to say it to someone.

I hope you all ok, and thanks for reading :)

  6. Thank you for your messages since yesterday...

Well, there are more than 50 killed and there was a carbomb in Beirut too last night in Achrafieh (Sou, I think you said you had family links to Achrafieh?)

The car bomb was in the multi story car park of a big shopping and cinema complex and I think 1 was killed and some injured. I just read on the news that the army have started shelling the refugee camp - now anything could happen...

Anyway, I'm not sure what'll hapen - I honestly can't see how they'll come to a solution in Tripoli 'cos no side wants to back down.

From what you said about the politics; basically, our 2 neighbours don't want to see Lebanon becoming stronger - it's not in their best interests and so they divide the country and sit back while leading it to ruin - it's bad enough here when there's no fighting; there are no jobs (thanks to Mr Olmert's handiwork last summer), no security that helps you build a good life.

Sorry for moaning; although I'm thankful for being safe so far, I'm really fed up with it all too...

I hope that soon, there'll be good news to post on our Lebanese thread.

Thanks again for your kind messages - they cheered me up

  7. I just saw what's happening in Lebanon right now. Lara are you ok??

Thank you Monshi - it's kind of you to ask.

Well, I'm not living in Tripoli - thank God, but I have to say that what's happening today is really worrying. As you probably know, things happen here so quickly that one thing leads to another and there's another war.

Hopefully the trouble won't spread throughout Lebanon but things are very unstable here anyway, before what happened today... I think they're trying to keep it from spreading from what they said on the news (you know, it's all to do with the politics here).

Anyway, I won't go on and on, but personally, I'm feeling a mixture of worried, sad, and really angry that there are so many people and countries who don't want a peaceful Lebanon :(

  8. Aaaaah... I'm sorry you couldn't get to see him Jasmin, and I hope you're feeling a little better now.

Don't forget whenever you get to see him again, you're the Lebanese thread's representative :) Cos I'm sure you'll see him way way waaayyy before I do :roftl:

    Anyway, hope you're ok now.

    :)

  9. Yeah, please please pleeeeeeeeeeease tell him we lovvvvvvvvve him:blush-anim-cl:

and tell him I'm more than happy to give up my #1 spot on the Lebanese thread if he'd like it for himself:roftl:

I hope u have a great time on Friday

Hi everyone else, how r u all?

    :)

  10. :) I'm glad you feel welcome here Monshi - your message was very sweet :)

Cube..... Have you tried Maglev Airlines?? I think they're Hungarian or something like that. Anyway, so many people have told me that they do good flights to Beirut.

Hope you're all ok... I'm getting killed by mosquitos here:thumbdown: I'm off now to squash another one :naughty:

    P.S: Sou, how r u??

  11. Hey...

Sou, I kept checking Nagham channel today incase they played Mika and I just couldn't keep it on either...Godddddd.... it's horrible!

Cube - I think we should start a 2 person protest on the streets of Beirut pleading for mika concert - you can come in your detective gear and we could both hold up signs, walking up and down Hamra street :roftl:

The airfares are really expensive and specially for summer - who are you going to fly with?

Monshi, good luck in your exam:thumb_yello:

By the way, if Mika does look at this site, I hope he looks at the Lebanese thread :)

  12. Wowwwww! New people on our thread:thumb_yello: That's great - welcome, and hope you stick around :)

About where Mika's family comes from... I think it's somewhere in the south as I read it in an interview I found online the other day. It doesn't say exactly where but if I can find the interview again, I'll post it here.

So Cube... if I keep my eyes open for a detective lookalike on the streets of Beirut in the summer we may meet :roftl:

Sou, Nagham is pretty bad most of the time isn't it? And they never put the name of the songs or singer but Mika's video clips come with that on anyway so at least people will know who he is :thumb_yello:

Hope you all have a good weekend :)

  13. Nice picture you posted Detective Cube :)

Am really bored... it's foggy and raining here - we have London weather today.

Sou, do you get the music channel - Nagham? They keep playing video clips of Mika in concert:thumb_yello:

I'm going now 'cos I'm writing really boring stuff - sorry :roftl:

  14. Thank u so much for posting the interview :)

Sorry it made you feel sad though, but you'll get to the where you want to go some day soon :thumb_yello:

Cubes... you're definitely coming to Lebanon?? Yayyyyy cool:thumb_yello:

Well I have to go - THE POWER'S OFF AGAIN!!!!!

I'm typing in the dark and remembering the time when I used to think power cuts were fun - now i get excited when there's electric :roftl:

By the way, thanks for keeping the Lebanese thread up here - or have I said that before? :blush-anim-cl:

I hope you're all doing ok...

    Night night everyone :)

  15. This is the picture of the city where our Mika saw daylight for the firt time in his life :mf_lustslow: :mf_lustslow: I'll try to add another later :naughty:

    Aah nice words Cube:thumb_yello:

How's it going with the downloading?

Sou, a miracle happened last night... we didn't have a power cut ALL night! :)

  16. I'm dying to know what he said but I won't be able to see the concert when it gets uploaded 'cos the internet connection here's too slow:thumbdown:

So, could someone put a message on this thread with what he says once you've watched it please? Thank you... :wink2:
