  1. When you say bedspreads, do you mean sewn ones (whole cloth) or quilted/pieced ones? And draperies? Is that curtains? I watched my mother make some when I was young, and decided never to go there! Or are 'draperies' art quilt panels? In which case you must please let me see a picture!

Hexagons are something that I was taught to make once, and decide they were way too hard and fiddly. Hexagons - wow.

That's the best thing about quilting - there's so much variety that if you like handcrafts, you can find a style to like!

Mika had the hugest reaction when he was given the bag. I've rarely seen him so overwhelmed (on videos of other gift givings), so it was very obvious that he immediately apreciated it.

What was also nice about the bag was John's reaction (who was being Mika's bodyguard/present holder). As soon as Mika moved on, he asked how many hours it had taken, and when I said 30, he seemed blown away. He was soon struggling to hold all the presents, (I'd been first!) and I suggested he use the bag as a bag, and he needed reasssurance that it was ok to treat it so ordinarily. Very funny!

After the show, we'd had our meet and greet (boring stunned silent rabbits - poor Mika!)

and everyone from the MFC was saying goodbye, I was still hanging around to wait for Mika to leave. (Dammit, I was there to see the bloke properly, not to leave any sight unseen! I was way back, just looking, cos I'd more than had my fair share!) He came out quite quickly to a bunch of 20 or so non-MFCers, and accepted a cowboy hat from a gorgeous lass, but tucked firmly under his arm was my bag!

I have such good memories - and I was on a Mika high for at least a month pre-concert (from the time I heard about his Aussie visit ) then a fortnight of deep PMD, then back to a Mika high for another 3 months! And just writing about it now makes my blood tingle and my face smiley! Thanks for reviving the memory, and for giving me an excuse to ramble!
