hey deano ! .. ive noticed though that none of the post's have saved from the last 24 hours .. i had to re-do my signature again ... will they come back or is that a result of moving ?

I address this point in my first post on this thread. We did the backup shortly before 9pm UK time last night, and therefore any posts after that will be lost.

There was no way around it, as the backup files for MFC are the size of over 1000 normal websites, so it takes ages.

Welcome back to MFC.

It has been a hectic past 7 days. We have been on 3 servers in 7 days but we are finally on our new, and hopefully FINAL home.

Here is everything you need to know:

1) If you can read this then you are on the new server.

2) Pictures and a few other features are broken, but it is a fairly simple fix. So bear with us.

3) The last backup was done approx 15 hours ago, so any posts from 10pm UK time to 10am Uk time will have been lost. We are really sorry, but there was nothing we could do.

4) there will be some people who cannot see this forum yet. Normally it takes a max of 24-36 hours, if you speak to someone who cannot see this, then ask them to try again in 12 hours. It is NOT a good idea to check every 15 mins, or even every hour, it will drive them mad, trust me.

5) The forum clock is still a bit out, we will try and fix that, but it is a pain.

6) Please let me know if you think the new server is fast, slow, etc...

I think that there are a lot of people who aren't *here* yet -- as for me,

I'll be on this site for a few minutes, when suddenly the screen changes

and I get the "try again in a few hours" notice. Then I can't log in

for a while... so service is spotty still just yet. And I can't be the only lonely

one who's having this trouble. Can I?

 

Also... Freddie's away! That takes the posting activity WAAAY down right there!

This is the final stage of the DNS update for your area. It does happen sometimes.

Hopefully by Monday we will all be on the new server.

The site has been offline for 24 hours, and we have decided to make a dramatic move to yet another new server.

This one comes highly recommended, so we hope it is a case of 3rd time lucky.

The site should work for the next 12 hours or so, and then we will be offline for 12 hours.

I have been reading a LOT of complaints and negativity regarding the canceling of shows recently.

I can understand why people got so angry, and I feel for them.

I am NOT going to give my thoughts or opinion on the matter, however, I was keen to let people have free speech and get stuff off their chest.

However, I believe it is now getting like a stuck record. I don't know about you guys, but personally I think it is getting quite boring now.

So how about we use our powers as the best Mika fans on the net, and instead of just complaining or sulking, we do something about it?

I am now in contact with Mika's management, and if he was over booked, then perhaps it was their fault? More specifically it may have been his tour managers fault?

So how about we use this thread to compile a letter, and I will personally ensure that everyone in Mika's management reads it.

Those who still feel angry or upset can add their thoughts, and I will compile the best parts from each person.

Then, we can hopefully move on and stop living in the past.

We have the power to make a difference, to ensure this doesn't happen again. Whining will achieve NOTHING, but this could make a difference.
