Allez, à mon tour de m'y coller!

J'ai 36 ans, j'habite tout près de Paris dans mon deux-pièces cuisine, et suis assistante de direction bilingue pour un équipementier automobile américain (autant dire que c'est pas la joie, vu comment l'automobile va mal en ce moment).

Après mon BTS Assistanat de direction obtenu y'a déjà un bail (beuh...) je suis partie vivre à Londres pendant 15 mois en 96/97. Suis revenue en France, cinq ans après j'ai tout plaqué pour faire au pair pour une famille américaine, je vivais à moitié à Paris, à moitié à Detroit dans le Michigan. Au bout d'un an, j'ai retrouvé ma vie parisienne que je n'ai pas quittée depuis (enfin quand je dis vie parisienne, je sors pas autant que ça hein ).

Les enfants sont un sujet qui me touche beaucoup, pour moi le bonheur et l'innocence des enfants c'est sacré. Sinon j'adore rigoler, j'aime les contacts humains, j'aime bien m'entendre avec les gens (y'a assez de conflits non désirés dans la vie, vais pas m'emmerder à m'en créer d'autres en dehors de ceux que la vie impose), j'ai une sale tendance à être assez paresseuse. Niki vous dira que je suis assez naive, trop gentille même je pense, mais ça n'empêche que je sais reconnaitre une vanne compte triple à sa juste valeur (Slav' et Niki me comprendront) .

J'adore mes neveux de 4 et 6 ans, voyager, la musique, suis plutôt pop/rock/indie même si je peux écouter des univers musicaux très différents, j'adore R.E.M., Radiohead, Depeche Mode, Patrick Wolf, Calvin Harris (grâce à mon initiatrice Niki:mf_rosetinted:), Police, le Grand Bouclé et plein d'autres, la musique irlandaise, la country (soft hein, pas trop trop trop du terroir non plus), mais je peux aussi m'éclater sur de bonnes merdasses des années 80 (ben oui c'était mon époque!), qui en ferait fuir d'autres .

Voilà, c'était un p'tit tour d'horizon vite fait!

En plus tu as la chance de pouvoir de débrouiller en anglais, alors profites en Moi j'aimerai dire plein de choses, mais je suis trop limitée avec mon anglais (je le lis et le comprends, mais l'écrire ou le parler, c'est autre chose )

Ça prend toute une technique! Moi j'aime bien me lever le matin pour aller travailler et qu'il a neigé toute la nuit, que la déneigeuse est passée, a mis toute la neige sur mon auto (jusqu'à à la hauteur des fenêtres) et que je dois la déneiger avant de partir pour le travail!

 

Le pire c'est que je vais revivre cette joie dans pas long!

Coucou Biche, oui je sais ça faisait longtemps que je ne postais plus, même si je continuai à lire le MFC.

C'est terrible les filles, autant avant j'étais assez active sur le forum, là j'ai l'impression de ne plus connaitre personne et je n'ose même pas trop poster dans des threads parce que je ne sais pas quoi dire... j'ai l'impression de m'inscruster quoi...

Oui c'est vrai, tu as raison, je suis contente de l'avoir vécu, mais j'avoue que j'étais bien contente de rentrer à Paris avant la fin de l'hiver .

Ceci dit j'ai des souvenirs de neige, de branches christallisées, c'était super beau... Des souvenirs à essayer de faire une marche arrière en voiture en essayant de respecter les batons du chemin devant la maison pour ne pas endommager la neige du jardin... Jamais réussi !

Biche, tu verras le grand froid t'en auras vite marre . Quand je vivais à Detroit en fait on vivait tous enfermés, à sauter de la maison à la voiture aux magasins à la voiture à l'école à la voiture! Tu es obligée de sortir exprès 10 minutes avant de partir pour chauffer la bagnole et tu restes à l'intérieur de la maison en attendant qu'elle chauffe!

Ceci dit plein de neige c'est super beau!

In this show, besides his enthusiasm, what made my heart melt was the love from the audience. Congrats (and thanks) to all the people there, and specially to those who took the "Merci" banners, Mika deserved that and I felt like all the fans were well represented there!

Totally agree with this statement. He pulled it off, no doubt about it. A great acheivement at this stage in his career.

 

But again, it's horses for courses. It's most definately a personal thing. It just left me feeling empty and no amount of acrobats or tap dancing astronauts can make up for that.

It's so interesting to read what everyone else is writing and using :wub2:n a lot and so many superlatives, when I'm just left thinking huh I don't get it?

I think I might have not enjoyed it as much as I did, if I had been in the seat section like you. The fact that you could hear/see nothing is very disappointing, it's difficult to enjoy a show when you don't have the minimum of the ingredients you need for that (sound/view). Plus, when you're used to being in the crowd, it's not the same just being in the seated area. I did two Mika shows being seated, and I said NEVER AGAIN! It's just not the same (at least to me).

But I have to say that I enjoyed the show, not Mika especially. He was running everywhere, barely stayed on the catwalk, I fed myself a lot with the show itself.

Yeah, I'm sure it was totally different from the catwalk. I was suprised watching the DVD to realized he didn't stay ont the catwalk.

But what I also wanted to say it's not because someone didn't felt the same connection that he usually feels in other gigs that he can say there was no connection with the crowd. There were different interactions, but they were really there. Many felt them.

 

Well, we could talk all the night about that ! But I just wanted to say that many people who was there didn't felt the same

Ca va bien merci, j'espère que toi aussi ! Oui oui nous étions quelques-uns, il y avait Valérie, Laurence, Lulu, Olga, Jonathan, Sofia et moi. Il y a eu quelques instants d'hystérie, je verrai ce que me diront mes voisins la prochaine fois que je les croiserai . En tout cas c'était super chouette de le découvrir à plusieurs ! Et j'ai beaucoup aimé le documentaire qui était vraiment super intéressant !

But Sariflor, I think you can't say there was no connection between the crowd and Mika or maybe we don't have been to the same gig or we don't have seen the same DVD.

There was a huge connection between Mika and the crowd. You can always see on his face his emotion. This crowd gave him so much, maybe more than he expected...

It was clearly not the same connection, not the same proximity, as another gig, but it was so special...It's not because you're not at 2 metres from him that there is nothing between his crowd and him.

I agree with Niki when she talks about different expectations...

Maybe if you were at the front row of the main stage, as we were, you would have feel the gig differently. From there, it was amazing, and not only for the designs... I was so moved during all that gig. It was so special, so unique and it had to be appreciated like that.

 

But everyone feels things on a different way...

I totally see what you mean Deb, but being on the catwalk myself, I kinda understand what Sariflor means. We did not have the same interactions you might have experienced with him on the main stage. He was running up and down the catwalk basically.

seriously making this huge production sthg enjoyable for the audience was a real challenge, so I will always admire him for this.

I'm with you on that one Niki. I think he did absolutely great on this, and (of course being backed up by professionals is necessary), so early in his career, he did extremely well on his vision of a stadium show. Had his own ideas, knew who he wanted to work with, knew what he wanted to create. Strong-minded.

I managed to see them in Paris - both dates were sold out but my friend and I managed to buy tickets from someone in front of the venue at a reasonable price... The concert was good but we kind of were unlucky because I got to know that their concert next day (they played twice in Bercy - they're huge in France) was far better as they had a real connection this time with the audience (which lacked at the concert I was at). To me, setlist was also kinda better on the second day (they played songs I so wanted to hear but I did not get them ).

Anyway I don't regret going to see them, I always wanted to !

I put it on top of all the trips I made, equal with California / Nevada (which is not the same landscape at all ... But that gives you an idea of how amazing I think Ireland is, as I put its landscapes at the same level as Lake Tahoe, Death Valley etc !)

Just wanted to tell you how beautiful your country is !

I went to Ireland for a week, went through Killarney Park, Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula and Country of Clare.

These landscapes are so WHOAWWW... I can't stop thinking about this brilliant trip and I hope to be able to come back soon to do either The County of Clare properly (could spend only one day there) with Sligo, Mayo and Galway counties, or Donegal & Northern Ireland.

I was so much into Blasket Islands that I bought from Amazon the books from Peig Sayers, Maurice O'Sullivan etc... Should receive them in a few days I hope! Sorry I use the English writing for their names, the Irish writing is a little bit more complicated for their names...

Anyway thank you so much Ireland for your Failte !

OK this is to take with a pinch of salt, cause you never know what press can write... It says that Mika's PDP DVD should be out (at least in France) in November.

Per their article (still, to take with a pinch of salt), here is what Mika says: "I just finished all the songs of the next album which might be very very fun (did he not say it was gonna be darker ?). That's all I can say for the moment. It might get released before the end of 2008."

Et bien il semblerait que l’interprète de Relax, Take It Easy, se soit depuis activement mis au travail car ce disque est prêt : "Je viens de terminer toutes les chansons de mon prochain album qui risque d’être très fun !
