  1. Looking at all the pics, i'm really wishing i could go to paris about now:boxed:

There better be lots of pictures taken and i hope he records it like he mentioned.

We will definitely get to see everything, only a bit later. :wink2:

I shouldn't, but I really envy those, who are going there. I'm part excited and happy but the other part of me is sad and jealous. I think I just have to get rid of the other part and hope to see Mika someday and be happy with lucky MFCers going to Paris. That's what it's all about, right? Yeah, we are family, but remember about reports and everything that. :naughty:

  2. I almost choked with my orbit chewing gum, when I saw the frontpage news!

And the video is fantastic!!!!!!!!! I'm still shaking, my eyes are wet, I need to drink some tea to calm down. I can't wait for the show, although I'm not going sadly, but if Mika doesn't lie, those, who can't go, will get to see some nice extracts! :das:

And the new album, the new site, everything new is sooooooooo exciting, too much excitement, I won't get any sleep today, wowwzzza! :yay::boing:

    :woot_jump:

  3. Hey!!

    I don't exactly know. I stole it form here...:naughty:

    But here's the original.

    mikajanqmagazinewt9_2.jpg

I'd like to know where it's from myself...

Oh, sorry, I'm a bit late, I think :roftl:, but I know! This one is from Q magazine. There was a one-page article on the next page. I had to read it in the shop, because I couldn't afford to buy it at the time (Q is veeeeeeeery expensive in Poland ).

I found the article on internet:

He's pop's golden goose. Though rubbish at blagging kitchen units.

2007 - How was it for you?

    A tornado.

Funnily enough, Q are calling you the 'Phenomenon Of The Year'.

    [Archly] Are they now?

Do you feel like a phenomenon?

Nope. I feel very lucky. And I feel very surprised. It was amazing. I learned alot. I really learned alot about so many things.

    What did you learn, Mika?

That I can be a bit of a bastard. I have to say that the success was a surprise, but the things that came as a result of the success were not a surprise. If anything, they were cliche and I didn't really get much enjoyment out of them. One thing I've learned is that when things are going badly, people will let you do whatever you want. It's when things are going well that you have to push for what you believe in: from the cartoon artwork of the single - which I do with my sister - to the vibe of a show, to the opening acts. I never pushed so hard for anything.

That's because everyone wants to steer the golden goose.

Yeah, and I'm not willing to play into it. I think it's obvious that I've turned into a golden goose for quite a few people. That wasn't intentional. Believe me. I don't think you make a record like the one I made with the intention of becoming a golden goose. Probably the opposite.

But what about the wonderful world of showbiz? Wasn't it...

...As naff as I thought it would be?

    What you always wanted?

But I get really embarrassed about **** like that. I don't want to be on the guest list. I'd rather wait in the queue.

There must be perks. Didn't you get a discount on some kitchen units in exchange for posing in the brochure?

[Naughtily] Mmmmm... Yeah... Never got them.

    What, never got the units?

    I never got the discount.

So you posed for the brochure, and they charged you full price?

I didn't pose for the brochure. I was basically trying to blag it and seeing if it would work. And it didn't. I probably had to pay more. For being a dick.

    How's the kitchen looking?

It's a building site. It's taken seven ****ing months. I don't know how long it takes to build a kitchen... perhaps I've been sent to the bottom of the list for being cheeky.

Cst your mind back. It's Grace Kelly's fifth week at Number 1. At what point did you think 'Enough already'?

It was... surprising how long it went on for.

    Apparently some people would agree.

I mean... I get a lot of that. But what am I supposed to do? I was considered this underground guy who was making credible pop music and as soon as it became popular, it made me victim to a lot of polarised opinions in the media.

The Guardian said listening to your album was 'like being held at gunpoint by Bonnie Langford'.

That got me alot of attention. [snickers] And thats the only thing I'll say on that.

Do you know who Bonnie Langford is?

I'm with Noel Coward on this one.

    In what sense, exactly?

Oh, you know what Noel Coward said.

    About Bonnie Langford?

No. Not about Bonnie Langford. About the press in general [he means: 'Criticism and Bolshevism have one thing in common. They both seek to pull down that which they could never build'].

Brian May rode to your rescue.[May lambasted the writer of the review on his website.]

    Oh yes. He did.

Are you andhe still internet chums?

No. [Appalled] We were never... internet chums. We'd met a couple of times and he's... [cagily] a great guy.

What have you enjoyed on TV this year?

That's a funny one. That's more of a TV Weeky question, isn't it?

Don't you write all of your songs with the TV on?

    That's true. You're right. It's often muted.

So, what have you enjoyed on TV?

I like Heroes. It's amazing. Don't ruin the end. I haven't been watching it on telly. I stole it off the internet.

Kanye West says you're his fashion icon of 2007.

    That's nice.

Don't you buy three of everything, clothes-wise?

Yeah. It's become a problem, actually. If I find a pair of shoes that are good, then I get them all. I liked these silver shoes that I was wearing at my shows, so I got the entire stock. But I use them all. I'm far too cheap to waste anything, believe you me.

I've read yo have a problem with restaurant staff, that they find you unintentionally rude?

Yeah. I think it comes down to being an idiot in social situations; when it comes to communicating properly.

What can we do to rectify this situation?

Darkly Spend more time talking to you.

The worlds your record shop these days. Bloc Party put a song on iTunes they wrote a fortnight earlier. Tempted?

No. I don't believe in just writing songs and releasing them. I have a hard enough time putting new songs into a live show, because I feel you should hold them back. [sighs] Maybe I just have to learn to shut up and grow up a bit. [Laughs] Like, I'm an enormous Prince fan, but I got confused with the enormity of stuff he released...

    So it's quality control?

Well, it's not always quality control, cos it can all be great. It just gets confusing. [Thinks] Actually, I saw Prince play at [small-ish London Venue] Koko. That was a showbiz perk. The one person I would pay to go and see. And I didn't have to pay.

Which Heroes hero would you be, then?

Oh! It's got to be the Japanese dude, come on. [Hiro's voice] Hiro Nakamura. [Thinks] I don't like future Hiro. He's like a fashionable waiter in a Japanese restaurant.

    Hiro is the best.

We like Hiro when he's a goofball. When he's a cartoon charater. Exactly.
