I was (sadly) convinced MIKA was gonna fall off the Canadian charts this week, as LICM bottomed out at #94 on the Top 100 Albums list last week. Hooray for us! His album's up a little at #85 for the week ending 13 Dec 07 -- week 41 on the chart. Alas, there are no singles charting here at the moment. Finally: MIKA is coming to Vancouver! Woohoo! I get to see his show on February 15th. THANKS MIKA!

I've tried hard to locate free sales data for Canada, but alas, can't. Chart data, of course, is readily available, per previous posts. For the record: LICM peaked at #2 on the Top 100 Albums chart back in February or March. It has been officially certified Platinum (100,000 units) by the CRIA. Per capita, that's about 5x as many units sold as in the USA. hey mika devotees: brilliant fan club here. i've been proselytizing for mika all by myself far too long! i was at a party in late january, trading tips on cool tracks, when someone mentioned "grace kelly". well, about 14 seconds into the song, and i was a complete convert. i bought five copies of the cd the day it was released in canada, and gave the extras away to friends. now i get to hear hooks and lines from mika whenever i'm being social. i'm hoping for 4 million discs sold this year -- i wanna see mika in the global top 10 albums list for 2007. we can make it happen!
