  1. Well, that bit about the tour is foggier now after sleep, but I wonder what the t-shirt manager was talking about when he said this is only a 3 week tour and that they we are coming back later this year. That was a direct conversation I think that is why I remember it.:dunno: doesn't mean he is going a 30 city tour it could be a promo 5 city tour or something.

Seems insane to add more. I was worried Mika was going to be tuckered (tired out) by the time he got here, but he his handling it well.

    Trained athlete that man is.

Who knows time will sort it all out.

  2. Are you talking about what he said during the concert? I thought it was like "Much to the surprise of the record company, we came back this year", meaning last time he came to the venue, he wasn't sure he'd be asked back.

But if you're talking about something else, never mind. :blush-anim-cl:

The only thing is though when I talked with the t-shirt guy I said I was worried he'd leave and we'd miss him again. He said don't worry we are coming back later this year.

Mrs.Penniman said they are doing it again soon.

  3. The girls (my daughters) and I got there 12:00ish. There people the usual suspects :teehee: and some people who were new (Hi Chris & Mark?)

Ate pizza, made friends with the waitress at pub 150 yards from venue, tipping nicely so that you don't have to buy something every time just to use the bathroom. She was sweet, gave me a free coffee (granted coffee wasn't well coffee, but that wasn't her fault)

Then we played the iPod through my car stereo, made it to Good Gone Girl before parking attendant said cars had to be moved.

John came out and we said hi, I walked closer and he said do you want to do it again? Yes. John: "Okay but your in charge of finding the other girls."

Cool, but harder than you think. Finally got last girl picked at like 7:30PM.

Back track a bit, whilst waiting in the line Chris noticed the parking lot guys car had left lights on. I decided I couldn't just let that be, so I walked over to said guy and told him, his thankful yadda, yadda, I say by and bam right there slowly driving by is Mika in a suv he looks at me I bow my head with a smile and he did it back to me!!!!:teehee::roftl:

They went around the block and ended up driving past the rest of us to offer a wave and a shy smile.

Fastward. Backstage was different than NYC, there were no wings to stand in, which ended up being great for us BG's because as it was close to show time the band was 5 feet from me.

I got to tell Erika that I saw her Fri in NYC and that I thought she was a wonderful addition to the band, she took my hand and said really, and that it is hard to come into a situation like that and that some fans don't like her. I said sod them your great!! She was genuine and happy to hear that.

I THANKFULLY had CHerrisse right in front of me so I was finally able to tell her that Aubrey took up drums because of her and that we searched hi and low for her Fader's cd (band she was in before Mika)

She couldn't believe it. She again shook my hand and said thank you.

Aubrey was OVER THE MOON when I told her about that.

Jimmy and the keyboard player told us BG's to put up our hands and the ran by slapping them it was funny.

Then we got to see the band do there pre-show ritual.

The crowd was loud. During Big Girl the band turned and sang to us BG's!!!

I bonded with a security guard who then introduced me to her other security friend and he got us BG's back and within 14 feet of the stage.

People remembered me. One crew said:"Oh your back for more punishment?"

This was THE BEST!!!! My girls were at the stage and had a great time. We actually got shirts this time.

The temporary buzz kill was the ride home. My car shook violently if I went over 60, then after 20 minutes I could go over 50 and the last bit of the hour was 45.

The Philly part of gut wrenching and it felt like it was going to die right there and Interstate 95 is NOT the place to be going less than 70.

Made it home safely. So I had to calm down before I posted.

I have surgery Nov.23rd so I'll have to pass. Which doesn't seem like a hige deal now, but I'm sure when the time comes I'm going to weep.

  4. Checking in just wanted to say HI, I got to be a BG again and find the other 3 BG's (not as easy as you think girls actually said no and 2 got turned down by Mrs.P for being too small.

I think this concert was better then NYC. Lots of joking, smiling, and energy.

They are coming back later in the fall for another tour!!!!!

I have awesome things to say, but gotta go.

  5. Sorry for the delay. Tibet thank you so much for doing the video for Big Girls.

I can actually see me, I sent that link off to family and friends.

Unfortunately the pictures from our camera didn't really pick me out of the background and I was mostly behind a light. Oops.

Holly-As soon as you can send those pictures that were taken backstage of all of us BG's please do.

Well it was a most incredible experience. I should up with my daughters and John and Mrs. Penniman and Aunt Mimi were very welcoming and warm to them.

I told the friends who were going to stay with my girls were in yet, they didn't mind. I don't really have a time line once I arrived and I entered Mika-Zone.

There was supposed to be a run through but Holly wasn't there nor was the other BG. So I stood around with the girls. Mrs.Penniman said I was small up top :teehee:

As we were there Mika just comes walking through and stood 2 feet away next to his aunt. Then Aunt Mimi said Mom, is going to be a BG. He smiled big and extended his hand, we shook and I introduced myself and he liked my eye decorations and I introduced my daughters and He leaned in and pointed to Zoe's eye decorations and gave her the thiumbs up and shook her hand then he shook Aubrey's hand.

That was when I knew I would be alright. I was more nervous driving there then doing what I was about to do.

Deb, showed up then we were told since there wasn't much to do we could come back at 7:00. We came back with Holly, Deb and the girls and Yasmine was working on something artsy and said that this is Mika's space and that only BG could really be there. No problem, Deb took the girls out for me (Thanks Deb :thumb_yello:)

I was worried that my corset was going to be too big and that they would ship me off, but she work it out.

There is nothing like being in the wings and the crowd screams and the music starts, I started to jump up and down (Mika like) and thought I need to pace myself.

Then it was show time and it was fabulous!!!! I spotted my kids and many MFC'ers. To see what Mika sees was really cool.

Even with my back stage pass people didn't want to get out of my way when I was going to my seat. Lets just say I got to my seat.

I thanked John, Mrs. P and Mimi. I really hit it off with the massage therapist.

Mimi even saw me after the show and told me to stay strong. I told them some of my health issues of late and they were very warm. It wasn't sad it was about strength and living life.

Watching the BG video that Tibet took really helped make it real. I was aware of everything and lived it, but seeing it really solidified it.

It may be harder to be a BG in a GA venue, no one will let you get into the floor. So unless they are really stuck for a BG I'll watch this show from the front.

HELLO-To the other BG's hope you signed up for MFC.

Not the best report, but hey.

    See you tomorrow Philly.

Post-Mika depression did set in a little even though we are seeing him tomorrow.

Who wants to start the PMD Support Group Thread?:teehee:

  6. Wish they'd post the winners of the candy spree. I only was able to enter once and Z100 wasn't very helpful in tending to the problem so that I could enter two more times :sneaky2:

Getting ready to eat and do my hair. I am picking the girls up early from school so that we can get their hair and stuff done and then leave for NYC around 3:30.

There is a Yankee (baseball) playoff game tonight so traffic is going to be killer near the GWBridge so I am still going to leave early even if no one else is there yet.

I am so excited! Can't wait to see people and break bread with peeps. Wish I tweeted. Maybe someone coming can tweet with you people during dinner.

Freddie-A shot of espresso please, I need something to calm down. :biggrin2:

  7. Hi to everyone going to the NYC show! I did not have the heart to change my RSVP status in the other thread, but I decided a few days ago not to go to the show because of some family obligations I have. Having seen Mika at GMA is helping me get through this! If I have the time, I might try to stop by the meetup just to say hello to everyone. If I don't make it, I wish all of you a fabulous time!

I apologize for the awful weather we're having. Usually October is quite nice.

    All the best,

    Joanne

Hope all goes well for you and yours. :flowers2: You'll be missed.

  8. Im kinda liking you Philliy peeps , very friendly :wub2::thumb_yello:

I'm actually from New Jersey. Cumberland COunty NJ so when I was a teen I'd take a bus to South Street a really cool area of Philly, artsy and real edgy, but then it turned into a gentrified area and it became expensive and trendy.

Now I live in Middlesex County (central/north Jersey) so I'm centrally located to go to NYC or Philly easily.

  9. OMG!! I went shopping!! I was looking for a new white button down shirt and found some, but I wasn't Feelin it. Saw some silver and golden shirts but my skin tone wasn't handling it too well, So the lady at Lane Bryant took out a black & white print button down and I thought:"There it is" I tried it on and bam.

So I will be blending in with the whole Black & White thing going on with the band. Got a new necklace and earrings.

I also bought more blue hair extension (suddenly my motto is you can never have enough hair extensions.

There is a storm front coming through so I have a headache hopefully it doesn't turn into a migraine. Stupid barometric pressure. :sneaky2:

Have to go deposit my paycheck so that the account doesn't look too damaged.:biggrin2:
