finally made some new drawings ^^on the plane hahah they are kiiindaa weiird..

haha i don't really know what i was thinking when i did that but whatever ^^

it's liike 4 diffrent drawings but when u turn the page you have a new drawing ^^lol haha i can't explain it .. i'll show you xD

so i first made that drawing with the giraffe but then i messed up with the body of the dog so i folded the page in the middle ^^ and draw another drawing on the page under this one but you will se that in the next picture ^^ oooomg damn i can't explain it xD sorry xD

Well, I finally finished my personal 'Songs for Sorrow' drawing; I started drawing with pencils when the EP came out and finished the outlines of the drawing quite fast. But for this time I didn't like the idea of using felttips or pencils only (it wasn't 'dark' enough). So I put the drawing into the cupboard, and leave it there... till now! I noticed the pen made pictures of JULS92 and decided to give it a try.

 

And this is how it turned out...

 

 

 

(So I cheated a bit with the pencils; making good art on the first try, doesn't work for me, I guess).

Just a quick note to both of you....you draw amazingly well, and I am 100% sure I could actually TEACH you to draw like I do.

 

It would take time, a lot of practising, but really, if you want to draw like that I can share my techniques and everything...it's not a big deal!

I'm self tought,never seen an art teacher....but it must suck Caz, that your teacher tells you manga is not art...I would kick her/his @ass. An ART teacher!!! Everything can be considered ART! Especially a drawing...no matter what style!

I myself start to get bored of simple portraits, that's why I started combining ideas...and get a bit more 'artistic'...I mean like... hiding messages in drawings...mix coloured and graphite pencils...etc...

But indeed, drawing people is a great way to learn portions, like eyes and stuff...I could draw you a realistic face without references too by now.

But these portraits give a lot more frustration...you feel a bit like a human printer after a while...

Plus I feel that I can't really express MY art/thoughts/feelings through simple portraits...not like you can trough a cartoon/manga. I'm not gonna stop anyway, drawing people is cool. Especially hot ones like Mika....

We shoud start a thread like: 'teach something to someone'....like how to draw mangas....realistic portraits...play a mika song on piano...etc...What do you think?

This was my try with ballpoint pens. My sketchbook paper was too big, so that's why it's cut off a bit.

I wish I was a lot better though, especially when it comes to portraits. I get so envious of Zsina it must be unhealthy LOL!!!

i never ever draw people and when i have to i don't draw the face i just leave it empty hahah

Juls, your drawings are amazing! I totally love them And you need to submit them for the yearbook.

 

 

This isn't her answer, I know, but I thought that I'd add it. My friend and I were talking to an artist on Sunday and we I took a look at his sketchbook. We noticed that he did his sketches mainly in ballpoint pen, and we asked him why. He said because you can't erase pen, if forces you to do good art on the first try. Also, you can get different types of strokes (wispy, bold etc)...but I thought the forcing-you-to-do-well-on-the-first-try part was more explanatory.

oh wow that's exactly how it is. you have to give your best when u draw with a pen hahah and when u make mistakes u have to create something new out of it haha.. so because of that...

i'll show you my mistakes in my drawings for everyone who wants to see.. hahaha

i made circles around my mistakes

so in this one.. this little man there it should have been an egg in a basket of a easterbunny xD.. but i only draw the egg and then decided i don't like the idea so it's a man now xD

this one is one big mistake. it should have been a Hippo but it after i draw the face i thought it looks more like a dog

and now the big one ....

1) there used to be a bird.. now it's a cloud haha

2) there used to be a bucket..

3) oh and that used to be a sun

well there are more liittle mistakes but they're not things who turned out totally diffrent like the ones i mentioned. =D

Oh and im working on the alligator i show u when its done

Oh...comon....send them to the yearbook...or at least a few, which can be more or less related to Mika.....I'm convinced he would love them!

Always with pens ha??? You have the nerves girl!!!! What if you make a mistake? You start everything again? And you can't blend it....

Well... you work amazingly with them!!! I don't think I would have the nerves of iron for that.... I don't think I'll try myself with pens lol...

And yeah...alligator...like it was staring at the fisherman...from behind that wall thing...you asked for an idea....but you don't have to use it haha, I just thought I would share it!

Haha ok i will think about the thing with the yearbook xD and about drawing with a pen thats the fun thing if u make a mistake u have to find a way to draw something over it so you dont see it xD i make a lot of mistakes but i just create something new with it haha i will have to put circles on my drawings everywhere where i made mistakes xD haha i ll do that when i am at home so u can see how many mistakes i make xD

Hahaha, lol, it's so cute! I dunno...maybe a shark? An alligator? I have seriously no idea.... Great! I love that thing on the turtles' heads!

Lol, definitely better than Economics at Uni for me...

 

And your great, no doubt about that...your on the right way....a grapic design agency is a great way to start and will look good in your CV!

Haha yes thats why i did this job because t looks good ;P and i learned alot and i realised its probably not the right thing for mee.. too much time sitting in front of a computer yeah well i don't have deviantart yet thought my friend told me all the time i should makr one so i think i will have one soon

oh wow thank you all so much o.O i never got a feedback like this i'm almost speechless.. This gives me strength to go on . oh and btw i am at an artschool i start my second year there this summer. And in this holidays i am working at a graphic design agency but i'm not sure if its the right thing for me..
