  1. I couldn't help but laugh at Mika's face when Mark Ronson was announced as the winner :naughty:.

The affair was pretty much a shambles, but it was funny. Sharon was dire, and Vic Reeves was even worse. Fearne Cotton made me want to poke my own eyeballs out, and no way should Kate Nash have won an award.

The Arctic Monkeys...hmm, they were drunk and don't really give a crap, but I must admit, I was getting fed up of all the "Brit School" worshipping, so them taking the mick was welcomed :bleh:.

Congrats to Mika for going home with something anyway! :D

  2. Hmmm...more speculation about performances?

SEE WHO WINS TONIGHT AT 8pm ON ITV 1

    ONES TO WATCH

Paul McCartney This is the biggy. A medley of oldies such as Hey Jude, Live And Let Die and Get Back.

Mika with Beth Ditto - Love Me is bound to be OTT.

Mark Ronson Collaboration of the night with Amy Winehouse singing Valerie, Daniel Merriweather singing Stop Me and Adele with Go Put A Smile Upon Your Face.

Amy Winehouse We hear her big comeback will be Rehab - of course.

Rihanna And Klaxons Amazing to watch.

Kylie She performs Wow - and it is...

Kaiser Chiefs Ruby will be rock slot of the night.

Leona Lewis Yes, she's singing that Bleeding Love song again, but it is bleedin' good.

Yes, it's actually Love Today, but still, could be plausible. Particularly as he'll be opening the show, so it needs to be a fairly dramatic song (which Love Today is).

  3. I think he will only win Best Male. Breakthrough Act will probably be The Klaxons (I think they're great, so I wouldn't mind them winning), Best Single will be won by some of the more obsessive voters (old Take That fans probably, or Leona), and Best Album will most likely be Favourite Worst Nightmare.

If he wins Best Male, I'll be happy :)

  4. I'll just stick to anticipating the performance of Big Girl. Everything so far has pointed towards that being the song (from general rumours to what Adele said), so at least if he doesn't perform it, it'll be a surprise (as opposed to a let down if he does...which I hope won't happen!)

If it's crap, there'll be plenty of time to criticise it on here. Some posters are capable of doing that even more effectively than fawning over everything-Mika :P

  5. I agree with a lot of the points made in this thread, even though they may seem contradictory - the fact that it's not necessarily new anecdotes we're looking for, but audience interaction; the way in which Mika appears to want to be in control of every aspect of his performance, hence the banter may not come quite so easily.

I do, however, think that the issue has sometimes been phrased in a po-faced and slightly priggish manner.

  6. There's nothing wrong with an opinion, but I do feel there's something wrong with just plain abuse.

Yeah, I agree. You see it at its worst if you ever venture on those "I hate Mika" groups on Facenook. Not liking someone is one thing, but wishing death on them and going into gory descriptions I find to be revolting. It's almost like the Parisian mob in the French Revolution - yearning for blood because of all that hatred inside.

I hear a lot of slating of Mika too, but I always people that even if they hate his music, he's a great guy anyway (which sometimes works on them :P)

  7.

With tunes chock-full-of more falsetto than even the Bee Gees, 24-year-old Mika’s got a triple platinum, fluffy hair and more international awards, nominations and acclaim than you can shake a stick at. Like the love child of Freddy Mercury and Mickey Mouse, Mika does sunshiny hyper-happy pop like no other. For example, in top ten hit “Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)” the boy even finds beauty in the scourges of womankind such as lovehandles and podge, spreading hope and joy to larger lasses everywhere. Mika hits the BRITs stage this January with two nominations, but whatever the outcome this ball-of-joy is sure to leave happy at the end of the night.

They can't even keep track of how many nominations they dish out? :boxed:

The Brits were never a serious affair :P

  8. Might be a good idea to not pester him about it.

He said he was working on it and that he was going to take his time with it.

When he's ready we'll know, and I'd be happy with an album that hasn't been rushed and done to his satisfaction.

    Yep, same here.

The earliest I would actually expect would be towards the end of the year, if that. I'm in no hurry, although very intrigued.
