@Laurel  We had talked about possibly having a little picnic gathering on Saturday afternoon in St. James's Park or somewhere if the weather is good, open to all but especially for those who can't make it to the party that night. We haven't set anything in stone yet, though -- guess we need to figure that out if we're doing it as it's just ONE WEEK AWAY! Wow, that crept up on me!

I love St. James Park ... it was one of my mum's fave places to go if we were in London ... I was there in April with family - I'll keep an eye on the threads before Saturday as I come use the trains from 11.05am onwards.  I have an open all day return ticket.  :D

  2. Does anyone know if anything else is happening on the Saturday apart from the party ... are we meeting up anywhere ... I'm gonna rebook the train fare for Saturday and Sunday (as I had to get it refunded as I paid for a ticket that wouldn't have been valid - I'm an idiot) but not sure what time to come up - if it's just the party and I have noone to see or meet up with then I might come up nearer to the party time  :aah:

Well, what a fantastic night that was!!!

Mika was in such a good mood, and great form. From the moment he stepped on that stage you could just feel the audience's enthusiasm and how he was feeding off that, so the chemistry was great. We had balcony tickets for level 1 and got there late because we really didn't want to put ourselves through the torture of crazy queuing up all day 😅 and even though we only waited outside for a bit if was freezing! Clearly the people who had queued all day are made of far sturdier stuff than I am, since I'm certain that I would have ended up with frostbite or something if I'd tried that 🤣

Anyway, we managed a great seat on the second row of the balcony, which I was chuffed with. We had a really great view and as this is a small venue, it felt very much like we were totally 'there' with Mika and everyone else. What can I say that hasn't been said yet about his set, it was excellent. I absolutely ADORED Platform Ballerinas live, as it's just fantastic: full of life, rhythm, catchy...I loved it!!! I also really enjoyed San Remo and missed Paloma, as I would have loved to hear that one. The rest of new songs that he did I saw in Montreal in September but I loved hearing them live again. Dear Jealousy is one of my favourites of the new album and so is Tiny Love. It was very special to see the Tiny Love performance with the lady and I just adore the feeling that he clearly puts into it when he sings this song.

At the end we ran off in order to make trains, etc as we figured that the chance of seeing Mika outside would be minimal, since the London gigs always seem to end up with crazy amounts of people mobbing him which was a shame because I would have loved to say hi and thanks for the show, but what can you do, eh. I would have also liked to see some people who I knew were going to be there and I haven't seen in a while, but since they were standing and we didn't cross paths it didn't happen this time ☺️  In any case we went back home on a big high from an amazing evening and from seeing Mika himself so happy with the atmosphere and how the crowd reacted to him.

Please come back soon Mika, we miss your shows big time 😍

I took 4 videos only, so here they are in case anyone is interested

  4. I really don't know why the link was put on FB - it seems unfair and it wasn't the way it's been done in the past ... I think they need to rethink that for the future ... put up the fact they go on sale for general release on Friday but Presale should be for here ... if you can't be bothered to sign up here for the chance of early tickets like in the past - that's your problem ... it's not fair on MFC members.

  5. I'll be honest ... I spend so much time avoiding this place nowadays as I don't really feel a part of it anymore ... I should probably delete it off of my quicklinks .. but I can't do that either ... because I have friends here and because he was a huge part of my life for years ... but as a UK fan I feel we don't matter to him at all - it's coming up for two years since I saw him ... I'm not interested in TV shows ... I was interested in what made Mika unique, he was different, he was exciting ... I wanted once to see him as much as I could ... live wise ... he was amazing ... I don't now ... I don't even class him as an artist or a musician at the moment ... he's not someone who grabs or keeps my attention ... I've not followed him on Twitter for a long while ... I'm just very very disappointed in the way his career has gone and I can't help that ... it's the way I feel ... I try and make out I don't care anymore ... and it is nearing that ... but I am still invested to a degree ... but he is losing fans with his decisions ... and he will lose me for good if things don't change ... I need something to look forward too ... something to aim for ... at the moment there is absolutely nothing :(

  6. I honestly don't think it would help Mika here if he performed every night on Britains Got Talent to be honest ... I just don't think he's relevant anymore ... and he did perform Celebrate on Strictly Come Dancing didn't he - before the album came out ... it did nothing ... he's just not good enough for people to buy into him ... and you're right about the TOOL album Christine ... I've not listened to it at all apart from when Rose played it in the car on the way to Scotland for Kath's Birthday ... I've not listened to him at all really for the last 18 months :dunno: I still do like Overrated and Stardust though.
