  1. You Know You're a Mika fan when...

My younger cousin was showing me a "Magic Trick" where he made me write my name down on a piece of paper, then put it in his pocket said "now, don't tell me what you want for Christmas!" Then he pulled out the piece of paper and flipped it over, where he had written "Mika CD." I said "How did you know?!", but I thought it was funny that that was the first thing he thought I would want for Christmas :naughty:

  2. Oh dear. I still have lots of these.

My english teacher: "Then you can attack them. Like a ninja."

A girl in my English Class: "Was Mr. S sleeping with us?"

My math teacher: "I hate to break it to you, but pi is a number. Except on Thanksgiving. Then it's round and delicious."

The same teacher, about other teachers: "They were surprised that math had words."

A student in my math class: "How do you do this problem?" The same teacher: "Correctly."

The same student: "What is example three?" The same teacher: "The one between 2 and 4."

My friend, about another friend: "You by yourself are like a terrorist organization!"

Random people behind us at the gig: "We should bump pictures of the ass crack." "Why would you want to do that?" "Why would you not???"

My sister: "Two people embark on an epic adventure! And what do they find?! Pancakes!!!"

  3. Did anyone else think that their cover of Imagine was amazing?

Because I am seriously in love with it. :wub2:

    Just bought it on iTunes!

Me!! I thought it was wonderful! I just watched that episode earlier today.

I've only bought the mash-up of Halo/Walking on Sunshine on iTunes so far, but hopefully I can acquire the CD of season 1 songs eventually.

  4. :lmfao:

You know you're a Mika fan when you go all excited at the name Yasmine (or even YasminA)

Yes! A girl named Yasmine sits in front of me in one of my classes, and I tell her that I like her name all the time :naughty:.

You Know You're a Mika Fan When your top 25 most played looks like this:

    1-12: LICM (Ranging from 173 to 451 plays:naughty:)

    13: 28. New Music (150 plays)

Then some random music that I've had on there for a long time... But TBWKTM is catching up fast! Touches You already has 100 plays and Blue Eyes 107!

  5. Ooh, we've been watching Glee in one of my classes (:naughty: I love blow-off classes), and it's so good! The newest episode was really good! Kurt crushing on Finn was really cute. I've never really watched TV before this year, but this show is really good! And they're all great singers!

  6. My pics with Mika:

    IMG_1783.jpg

Adorable! You guys are all so cute! Wonderful wonderful. Did Kira send you the one I took of you guys talking to him?

And at least ... Kira and Indy ... here's your picture:

    IMG_1781.jpg

:lmfao: That's awesome! We both look hilarious! Thank you for sharing it with us. :wub2:

Also, there is NO WAY that it has been almost an entire month. I miss you guys all so much! Kira and I think and talk about y'all and how awesome you are every day. I can't wait until we can all meet again! :huglove:

  7. ...you have to conciously switch in and out of Mika language. You have to make an effort not to say 'LICM', 'MFC' or 'PDP'.

But luckily most of your friends speak it now, so it's not so much of a problem. :naughty:

"In the queue, some other MFCers and I listened to LICM!"

Translation: While waiting in line outside the venue, other members of http://www.mikafanclub.com and I listened to Mika's first album, Life in Cartoon Motion!

    :naughty:

  8. I guess I could describe myself as someone who gets REALLY annoyed when they can't understand something. It really really bugs me when things confuse me or I can't find an answer. The fact that the poles change direction under the ocean really, really annoys me because no one can tell me why - I don't think even the the scientists who noticed it did could tell me, but still it really irritates me.

I'm sorry, I haven't read the rest of your post, but isn't it because the north and south magnetic poles change direction? The magnetic field around the earth dissolves, and then reforms in the opposite polarity (ie, the south pole is now the magnetic north pole, and the north pole is now the magnetic south pole). Then, when the metal components of the ocean floor are deposited, they line up according to the current polarity.

(Sorry for the bad explanation of something I learned 3 years ago)

Okay. Now I actually did read the rest. Very interesting things. The only thing that really scares me is things that can't be known. Either my physics or English teachers reminding me that we can't explain everything, or something doing a random action that I don't understand (Like my sister laying out 3 small plates and 1 big plate, and not being able to explain why. That was really scary), makes me think and worrying about it for the rest of the day.

  9. Here's a deep conversation.

Everytime I run off on some wild Mika adventure I come back thinking, the secret to life is love.

Not love as in, OMG you're my soulmate, but love as in, a genuine caring for the light in every person you meet and every experience you have. :wub2:

    How's THAT for weird hippy person-ness. :blush-anim-cl:

This thread is really wonderful. I just wanted to reply to this, Mana, because having met you at the gig, it's so clear that you really do care about every person, even ones you have just met (like me :naughty:). I love it. Y'all all, not just Mika, made that day so freaking WONDERFUL, and I will never forget it.

And, about whether I would murder someone innocent to end world hunger... Hmm. Spock says "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one" (I watched Wrath of Khan yesterday with my friend :naughty:), but putting it into practice would be a whole different thing. I would agree to the idea in theory, but I don't think I could actually do it. Also, there's the question of overpopulation. Is world hunger, despite the staggering loss of life, necessary so that the rest of the population can live with the resources that we have?

  10. *kicks thread*

I want to have a pancake party at IHOP when Mika finally does come down here to partay with us chicks and boys thogu hI dunno any texan boys. I'm slowly turning some of my work friends into Mika connoisseurs :wub2:

Umm, yes. A pancake party sounds like an awesome way to celebrate! Several of my friends are begging for me to take them to a gig since I told them about how awesome the one I went to was, so he'd better play close to here so we can have a huge celebration!

  11. Wow, you guys. I have been trying to delay writing my report so that I could make a better judgment about what details are and aren’t important, but it’s been almost a week, and everything seems like I need to write it! Here’s my report, I suppose, though there’s a multitude of things that will inevitably be left out.

    1) I LOVE YOU GUYS. Everyone I met in the queue was freaking lovely. This sounds silly, but it was really nice to be expected to be responsible for my own behavior, but still be able to be an adoring fangirl. I don’t get to do either of those much in real life. I’m younger than a lot of you guys, but I still feel like I’ve made some of my favorite friends. Thank you. I can’t stop thinking about you all and missing you :wub2:

Okay. Pathetic rant over. Post Gig Depression sucks. Here is about the gig!!!

    2) Queuing was so much fun. There were enough silly incidents—just little things that made me laugh—to fill an entire post, but people probably don’t want to read all of those. That was a lot of fun, though. Let’s just hope that we’re not banned from Sears. And, OMG, John’s ringtone is We Are Golden! He’s a really nice man, and that was so funny. I am honored to have met him.

    3) When we finally got to go in, I got a spot in the front next to Nono and Katrien! Standing next to both of you was an honor! It was really special to stand next to Nono and Brittany, both of whom we met this summer in LA. If someone had told us then that we would be seeing each other this soon at a gig, I wouldn’t have believed them! But that was really special. Katrien, you are so nice and standing next to you was an honor. Also, BIIIG thank you to everyone standing behind me! I had heard horror stories of people getting crushed at other bands' concerts and was concerned, but everyone was perfectly civil and I did not get mashed! That was really nice!

    4) Gary Go was good, playing the song on his iPhone was funny, but I really just wanted to hear Mika. That was unreal.

    5) MIKA IS LOVE. Each and every song, I swear, I thought “Okay, this is definitely my favorite.” Nothing, not any picture, not PDP, not any video on YouTube, NOTHING prepares you for seeing him there, real, in front of you, singing. And when he looks at you… that was just crazy. It really did feel like he was looking right at us. And that was wonderful. You can see the videos and all, but there were just a few moments that still stick out at me a week later.

    1) (I like lists
    :naughty:
) Stuck in the Middle. That has always been my favorite song, and screaming the lyrics back at Mika live was so special.

    2) We Are Golden. I haven’t seen the video, but the look on his face when he heard the entire place screaming “WE ARE NOT WHAT YOU THINK WE ARE, WE ARE GOLDEN, WE ARE GOLDEN” at him was unforgettable. It was the first verse, mind you! We weren’t just copying something we’d heard him singing! That was straight from the CD to the concert! I think he realized that, and his face was just pure joy.

    3) The "dancing" did not suffer by the boot, at all! He was all over the stage, and it was awesome to see him having such a good time!

    4) EVERYTHING. It was freaking magical.

    6) AFTER THE GIG was asdlkjasdf. Since we had never been to a gig before, I was asked repeatedly how I liked it! Normally I loathe being asked the same question over and over, but this time, I didn’t mind answering: it was FANTASTIC. I met up with you guys and got my wristband (I’m still wearing it, Brittany… :naughty:). When we went downstairs, I was just kind of feeling bad and wanting a beverage. When Kira and I got in line to meet him, we were both freaking out (I can’t really describe the feeling). When I looked around the corner and saw Mika, real, right there, it was even more mind-blowing then the gig. SNAP. HE’S A PERSON. AND HE’S LOVELY. I almost didn’t want to talk to him, because I knew I would say something silly, but when it was my turn (after Kira, luckily), I told him about my stuffed snakes, and took a picture with him. I wanted to get him to sign my CD booklet, but I was so excited about just talking to him, I just said some nonsense that he’s probably heard zillions of times before: “Thank you Mika, you’re just so wonderful,” etc. He was totally chill about it, too, and said something like “Aww, that’s so nice!”

    7) And then it was over. When the security guards made us go upstairs, it was next to impossible to imagine that we wouldn’t see this man again for too long of a time. I don’t know when he’s coming back to the US, but it had better be soon, because I really want to talk to him some more. He seems like a fascinating person, and I wish I could have talked to him more, but I think this was pretty good for a first time meeting him. At least I could speak.

    8) We all said good-bye outside the venue (again, you guys are all SO WONDERFUL. I think about you every day. It sounds creepy, but it’s totally true. If I could spend every day with MFCers going to a gig, I would totally do it. Y’all are LEGENDARY), and I walked back to our hotel with Andrew, Mana, Nono, Christine, and Kira. Lots of silliness, and it was so hard to say good-bye. Y’ALL are awesome, even if some of you say “Aboot.” :bleh:

    9) In conclusion, BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. EVER. Let’s do it again sometime!

    10) PS: Sorry for the book post and repetitive diction. I can usually find words that are more descriptive of what I'm trying to express, but it's hard to find words to describe my excitement!

    11) My picture with Mika is here. Neither of us look our best, but it’s my favorite picture.

    DSCN0761-1.jpg

  12. "This one doesn't have a head for some reason!" (I think he was talking about a grasshopper)

"He's a strange ranger." (My friend, about another friend)

"But that tumor has rights!!!" (My English teacher)

"Besides the excruciating pain, that would be the coolest way to die!" (I don't remember what it actually was)

Also, my Calculus teacher when my friend and I were blowing bubbles in his class: "Put it away! This isn't English class!" (Needless to say, we blew bubbles during English later that day)

  13. Fascinating. I've been wanting to answer these ever since I read them. And it's really interesting to read everyone else's answers.

    When were you happiest?

Right now. I can find pleasure in almost anything. And if I'm unhappy, I can usually think my way out of it.

    What is your greatest fear?

That something will happen to my best friend. I worry about her all the time. Or that my fingernails will fall off or something. Fingernails are so scary and disgusting.

    What is your earliest memory?

Knocking my two front teeth out at age 2

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

When someone (including myself) disappoints or hurts me, it's all I can think about for hours. And I worry too much about everything.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?

Trying to judge others without knowing them.

What was your most embarrassing moment?

    I don't know.

Property aside, what's the most expensive thing you've bought?

I am also unsure. Most recently, I think, a Swatch Watch.

What is your most treasured possession?

My iPod Touch and TI-89 Titanium calculator.

What do you most dislike about your appearance?

Acne. It's disgusting, but I can't seem to get rid of it.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

MYSELF. Nobody else would do it right.

    What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Watching Star Trek on YouTube instead of doing my homework

What is your most unappealing habit?

    Biting my fingernails?

Where would you like to live?

    Italy

    What does love feel like?

Not caring about sharing your delicious dessert.

What was the best kiss of your life?

The one that one of my guy friends gave me on my forehead in my dream 2 nights ago. (I've never kissed anyone real in real life :blush-anim-cl:)

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?

Mika, some MFCers, and my best friends.

What is the worst job you've done?

Having only had one job, I have to say being a councilor at Summer Camp. But that was actually really fun.

If you could edit your past, what would you change?

I would either make past (ie, 7th and 8th grade) me care more about my grades, or make present me not care as much. Preferably the latter, as long as I can still succeed.

    How do you relax?

Listening to music and talking to myself

What is the closest you've come to death?

Sanding my fingernail off with a disc sander in the 9th grade. I wasn't actually in real danger, but because I'm so terrified of fingernails, it was very traumatizing.

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?

    LESS HOMEWORK AND STRESSING. Seriously.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I'm 9th in the class at the 35th best high school in the US. And I'm alive.

What keeps you awake at night?

    My own mistakes

What song would you like played at your funeral?

    Stuck in the Middle

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

Worrying isn't going to help anything. Somehow, I still worry about everything.

Where would you most like to be right now?

    In my bed, asleep.

    Tell us a secret.

I should probably be studying for my 2 exams tomorrow.
