I adored the interview!!! as everyone said, the fact that he was so relaxed, and talked about everything we wanted, made it a fantastic interview!!!! seeing him so happy, is great, specially thinking that if he's sourrounded by his family and friends, and in a very joyful and lovely atmosphere, we'll see that through his show, he'll put all his energies to make a wonderful tour!!! an I'm sure we won't let us down!!!!

I really like the song, and I also realise it's a catchy song with comercial purposes. but I think he's now releasing those songs because he has to be commercia first to sell his album. for us, as we fans who follow him everywhere in every step of his career, we see Mika's songs in a different way, deeper, because we know what he's capable of, but right now, with a new album, he needs promotion to sell it, and perhaps the deeper songs are not the ones which sell...so I think we shouldn't be so worried right now, and perhaps we need to wait till the album comes out!

I don't know. That sounds wrong to me. I think I would either say "All I want to do is make you happy" or "All I want is to make you happy."

 

Sorry I can't be helpful with what is technically correct and why. Sometimes these technicalities are based on arbitrary rules that are just...well...arbitrary and don't necessarily reflect how people speak. I think the rules that English speakers get "wrong" most often will be modified eventually because there is no logical reason for their existence in the first place. If the rules were perfectly logical then native speakers would grasp them completely when they were children and wouldn't still be unsure about them and arguing about them as adults. Oftentimes these rules exist simply because some self appointed grammarian wrote them down in a manual in the 19th century and everyone has been beaten over the head with them for the past 100+ years.

with this paragraph, you made me wonder why on earth am I studying english!!!!!! but I think you´re ok, I´ve been studying english for the last 10 years, and I think no matter how advanced you are, you always learn grammar rules, but it´s often different how people speak there...that´s why the best way to learn a language is going to a country where it´s spoken.

it happens the same with spanish...sometimes we don´t know the rules, or even when we do, we don´t follow them!

I mean, this wouldn't be a song I'd hear 10 times a day as I do with the two previous albums! he has made better songs, slow and more rythmical songs, but this one...I dunno....I'm not 100% convinced by it! perhaps the film didn't let me appreciate it better...but so far...I'm still waiting for more songs where his voice, and talent can be shown and admired deeper!!!

I've been catching up, and now we have a new thread for Sir Tweetsalot's tweets.

I'm glad to read I'm not the only person having problems. I have been noticing that Mika's tweets arn't showing up in my timeline. But hopefully, the problem will be resolved and in the meantime, I have the awesome MFC keeping me updated.

Can I just take this opportunity to say that this is the very best fanclub! My hubby loves Lady Gaga and Jessie J, but last week, when JJ was on a show on BBC TV, I had to shout Alan that she was on because he didn't know! I said at the time that if it had been Mika who was on TV, we on MFC would have been talking about it for days, because some fan would have opened a thread about it and told us he was on! I feel so privilaged to be part of such a pro-active club that makes certain we know, and don't miss, any magic Mika moment.Thank you!

 

I've done an edit to mention that for anyone who can see BBC 2 next Saturday night. Mika will get at least a mention in a show about pop stars. 'I am a popstar'. Last night's episode was the doc about girl groups and then at the end, when they previewed next week's show, I saw a quick glimpse of Mika from the WAG vid. I was really happy it wasn't from the GK vid because this proves they realise he's had more than one hit single. I can't wait!
