    Grazie!

    Divertirti domani! :biggrin2:

From what I remember, there was not any official information about the guests before recordings. We only have heard rumors about Sting and found pictures of Rai employees with Kylie, but nothing about the dates they were supposed to be in the studio. Maybe Italian fans know more :wink2:

It was always such short notice and same with the guests. We heard about some guests in advance, but not at which recording they'd be there. I think at the Saturday recording we heard that Sting would be there on Sunday, but that was the closest we got to knowing anything.

Thank you, you two :) That are answers I don't want to hear :sneaky2::wink2: But that's not your fault :biggrin2:

I guess my last hope are the Gabbani fan structures (maybe a recording invitation from his Fanclub for example), but there are so many "ifs" (if he is a guest at all, if the date leaks if he is, if I get tickets, if there are payable flights, if I can take  the days off...), so I guess I've to be realistic and have to accept that it was just a great idea in my head, not in reality 😎

  5. I hope MFCers who had been there last year can help me with some information :)

Actually I don't plan to go to a shooting, but if Francesco Gabbani should be a guest then I'd seriously consider it :biggrin2:

So I wanted to ask if somebody still remembers if last year

    - there was any information about the guests earlier?

    - the "normal" (non-last-minute) calls were also "4 days before shooting call for application, 2 days beforehand confirmation" like it's for the shooting this Sunday or did you know it earlier (or even later) for some dates?

  6. We have a lot of new entries :)

Personally I like it, it's very generic, but I'm feeling wide and free while listening to the chorus. I'm very solely though, it gets so much negative response and "everyone" says it's bland, the chorus isn't strong, it's too vanilla...

Then we have the next big bunch of female ballads

France.png  This is the French entry - reminds me a bit of Stromae

Spain.png  And the Spanish one. It's a bit of a scandal because the jury decided after a tie between him as jury favorite and another televoting favorite.

Italy.png  And last but (really) not least: Italy

He gets huge positive reactions and is the favorite so far. But of course many songs are still to come.

If you'll go onto Youtube you'll find some explanations as well

I like it, it's positive and upbeat, he has a lot of charisma and it doesn't have the same boring I'm-In-Love/I'm-So-Sad-After-Separation-lyrics.

  7.

    ...and on Youtube:

    ****

We do have two other (woman-screaming-)ballads already:

Albania.png  Albania (it'll get a revamp and will be sung in English though)

    Georgia.png  Georgia:

Belarus.png  And this nice uplifting, charming, refreshing song from Belarus :)

  8. Some words about the gig from me, too :)

I was there around half past 6 and went to the end of one line. (The French lines are always fascinating, in Germany we always have a big cluster :sneaky2: ). At this time it was still sunny and hot, but while we did wait clouds came up and a couple of minutes after the doors did open it started to pour down. Really pouring down :aah:  Everyone got very wet, especially as a lot of people were only wearing T-shirts. And maybe it was because of that - the crowd was very good :D  Felt like "we are wet to the bones now anyway, so whatever, no need to act decent, just have fun"  :naughty:  Or maybe the people in Strasbourg are just like that ;)  Anyway, it was strange (but good strange :wink2: ), the seating area was so loud and even did start the "Come on stage" clapping. Normally it's the other way around.

The gig was a “normal”, “basic” gig. And I mean it in the most positive way: Just about Mika, the crowd, about dancing and singing, not thinking, having fun. Not like Bercy yesterday which was more "planned" and more about the visuals and the show. And somehow that was exactly what I did need at that point. Mika was very energetic and a bit loose, had this "I'm playing around and do what comes to my mind" attitude, talked a lot (even if I only did get some bits and pieces) and I did enjoy that very much. I couldn't believe it when he went into the crowd, I would have never thought he would do it in France  The Lollipop incident was so funny :biggrin2:  And I did enjoy him playing more piano again (as well as in Bercy) after he didn't really do it last year aside from the intros. And two times confetti were great, too :D

Afterwards I met up with the other German fans and Rose & Nina. It was nice to meet you all (again) :) It didn't take long until he came out. Mellody has told everything already, so nothing really to add. Just saying again that it was nice to see/hear him talking to fans (for a long time). I didn't say anything, just listened, but this was nice to experience, too (especially when we told him about Mumu in German  )

I'm very glad I did decide to do this gig as well after Paris as I just had a very good time :pbjt:

  9. I'm biased yes, but I have to say that we did a really good job hosting this year's Eurovision. Petra and Måns did an amazing job and I'm proud of the production and the interval acts. I think that they hald a really high class even if I guess that the "documentary" only were funny to us in Sweden. The thing I was disappointed in though was the they chose to present the jury and the televoters votes differently. I don't care what five music guys in France think about the songs. It's not interesting at all. The thing that was surprising was the fact that the jury groups were mostly just as biased as the televoters, which kind of takes a way the purpose of the jury groups.

    Anyway congrats to Ukraine :)

Totally agree, Petra and Måns were brilliant (and I didn't like Petra that much in Malmö), very funny and entertaining, and "Love love peace peace" was one of the best intervalls ever :D

I agree, the presentation was excellent (Love Love Peace Peace :floor:)

Maybe they should abandon the jury vote altogether and just let the people decide :dunno:

I don't think it'll work. The juries do have flaws, but they are reducing the influence of diaspora-voting, one of the main reasons why they were introduced. I think pure televoting has even more flaws than the combined system we have now. But I do think that they may should change the selection criteria of the members of the juries.

  10. Fans meeting in Paris - 26th May - 5 pm

Information you can find on Mika France Forum

It will be a good opportunity to meet more people coming from various places and from far away for some of you

McDonald's appeared to be convevient especially for those who want to buy the new Mika Swatch that will be released that day - the main Swatch store is very close to the McDonalds -  feel free to come where ever you come from and even if you don't know yet any of us.

Please just tell us here or on Mika France forum or twitter if you intend to join just for us to know approx how many people we can expect

    Hope to see you there.

Chrissie and me want to come, too, but we won't make it at 5 p.m. as our train will arrive only at this time.

  11. This is our entry:

I think we did waste an interesting singer with a boring, average song :sneaky2:

    ***

My favorites this year so far are these 3:

    Latvia:

That's an amazing electro song. Hypnotic, fascinating and I just love when his voice gets rough.

    Ukraine:

It's a pretty special song, that's why I like it. And it just gives me chills of haunting emotions while listening.

    The Netherlands

It's such a relaxed feel-good-road-song that cheers me up.

  12. Yes it is quite unusal. I doubt we will get into the finals...

I think it's great that you have the balls to go for a different language  :D And really, why not? Why everything has to be in English?

And if you don't make it into the finals it won't be because of the language. Non English-entries statistically aren't doing worse than English ones.

I hate the Eurobeat though and that's a real shame because it's such a nice song in the album version.
