  1. Soulsavers will release new single with Dave Gahan vocals on 2nd April

"This music gave me the perfect palate to play with the BIG questions that we all ask when life becomes less about what can we GET, than: what can we DO? I’ve been very fortunate, and I’m privileged in my life, so I want to do things I feel really connected to now, otherwise there’s no point. Rich and I had both come out of something difficult. This is something to do with that. It was a wonderful experience.” - Dave Gahan on his latest collaboration with Soulsavers, "Longest Day".

I was walking home lonely the other night

I couldn't see a single star in the sky

Oh, they must be too high

Shadows dance around me in the dark

    Don't stop

This could be the longest day

And the night has yet to come

This must be the dark to take

    There's nowhere left to run

This could be the longest day

And the night has yet to come

This must be the dark to take

    I've nowhere left to run

Was eleven years to change what have been lost

One single shot was fired and what a cost

    Oh, and what a cost

This could be the longest day

And the night has yet to come

This must be the dark to take

    There's nowhere left to run

This could be the longest day

And the night has yet to come

This must be the dark to take

    I've nowhere left to run

    I wanna run

    I better run now

    Run

    As far as I can

Oh Bia what would I do without you??

Thanks my DM little sister :huglove:

  2. Just found it at DM site forum

British wrestler William Regal tells a story w/ DM song titles on WWE NXT this week

Regal (who's originally from Blackpool) did the same thing with The Smiths recently.

    http://vids.wwe.com/16467/wwe-nxt-march-7-2012 (@5:15)

You wouldn't believe what's going on in my life at the moment. Huh...do you want me to tell you? It was a Black Day on NXT. These Fools, these Damaged People, so Corrupt and Dangerous. Disrupting those that Work Hard, they Shouldn't Have Done That. Oh Well. Sometimes, People Are People. Something to Do because Fragile Tension, But Not Tonight. Here's a little Insight: The Landscape is Changing, It Doesn't Matter what happened in the past, those are Stories of Old, Better Days are ahead. I'm Behind the Wheelnow, it's a Clean slate. I'll bring New Life to NXT, there's Nothing to Fear. Being GM, it's A Pain That I'm Used To. Now, don't get me wrong, Any Second Now, Blasphemous Rumours will begin...I'm losing my step here, but It's No Good. They will Leave in Silence and Suffer Well, Walking in My Shoes is no easy task, but Get the Balance Right here on NXT. Nothing's Impossible, it's just A Question of Time. Ladies and gentlemen, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

"I think Depeche Mode music somehow appeals to the oddball, to the person who is looking for something a little bit different." - David Gahan

  5. at least we are SURE :mf_rosetinted::tears:

maybe they still wanna to release their CD's in years finished in 1,3,5,7,9 as most of their albums :mf_rosetinted:

    :aah: maybe you're right :naughty:

Well as long as the 13th album is planned for sure, I can wait...

At least it's good to hear that retirement is not for now :teehee:

  6. And according to Martin the album will be out in 2013

    From Wikipedia

During a DJ gig in Italy in November 2011, Andy Fletcher revealed that the band were set to meet up in January 2012 to start planning the new studio album, their 13th, and said that they were aiming to commence recording in March with a tour to follow in 2012 and 2013. In an interview with German magazine 'Sonic Seducer', Martin confirmed the album would be released in early 2013.

    Still one year?? crying.gif

  7. Awn, I would love to share some Da... I mean cake with you too :biggrin2::licks_lips:

Check out what I found today :wink2:

    http://animatedalbums.tumblr.com/tagged/Depeche_Mode

Well done! It's really nice :thumb_yello:

Rumor has been spread that Ben Hillier would be the producer for the next album and they should entering the studio in spring :biggrin2:

Oh gosh getting old is difficult!!!

SOTU was released 6 months before TBWKTM and now Mika has almost finished to record the new one when DM has not even started :roftl:

  8. I simply love his performance regardless of playback.

Both he and his band look very relaxed and the this kind of outfit can suit only him. :biggrin2:

I'm fine with it also. Playback doesn't bother me that much as it is pretty usual in this kind of shows :thumb_yello:

Of course Christine we also have 'Les Victoires de la Musique' and Mika is nominated for best song this year! :thumb_yello: It was posted on MFC but not much pointed out; I think this is truly brilliant. I never imagined he would be nominated for this (and I think he can win as it's a special category voted by the audience) The show can be boring and elitist but it's a serious award in my opinion.

    Fortunately for him! :wink2:

This audience vote is his best chance to win as it is usually a pretty posh reward ceremony not generally based neither on record sales nor on public taste.

It has more to do with an auto-celebration of the french music industry :teehee:

Otherwise, I tried to find French articles/comments about Mika's award and performance; but there's not much, anyway people don't seem particularly shocked about the performance. As for the award, some say he doesn't deserve it, some say he's one of the few who really deserved an award.. I don't think the whole NMA thing is going to alter Mika's reputation here at all, in good or bad

Good to hear it! Ultimately it's the most important :thumb_yello:

And thanks for all your links & translations Camille!

  9. It looks like in the UK, as soon as you had a little bit of a failure in your career, or something that didn't go very well, you can easily be forgotten and/or laughed at. It's the feeling I had about musicians when I lived there.. I felt that all the nation could get overexcited about something new but at the same time throw them in the bin when the excitement had gone..

same here in hong kong

and i remembered a Universal Hong Kong staff told us Mika got lots of promotion and supports here when he was still fresh and just kicked off his career with LICM. She said it's already become difficult for the 2nd time he came here (the time when he had his first public gig in hk).

promotion and relevant events/contests are not well-known by people here, imo their promotion are quite inefficient... there was a 'contest' of the first 10 ppl who email the organiser will get a chance to the M&G after the gig. the contest was announced the day before i recognised it (and shame, i wouldnt hv known this if it wasnt a foreign MFCer posting it), then few of us emailed the organiser and still won the contest. you can imagine how the promotion for Mika is like here after the first time he came...

and the most recent time is even worse imo... i kinda feel the promotion is partly relying on the Tofu thing :dunno:

The wrong side of the consumer society...

One gets tired very quickly of everything, even singers... People need novelty all the time

Honestly, who will remember LMFAO next year? :dunno:

That's why I'm always torn between the desire to see Mika succeed commercially in the charts and the fear to see him get lost in a "too fashionable" music :freak:

    How's this for fangurling?

    41914887.png

    This needs a caption! :aah:

    :roftl:

Actually it reminds me some paintings of the optical artist Victor Vasarely

  10. Thanks very much to all of you for your work, pics, vids, links, etc.. :flowers2:

I haven't seen the live show last Saturday but thanks to you all, I was able to catch it up in few minutes today

    You're definitively a great team! :thumb_yello:

Very happy also that Mika has won an award :wub2:

Probably not the best performance (damned playback! :sneaky2:) neither the best outfit (how do you call that thing.. a doormat???? :aah:) but he deserved it anyway!

I hope this will bring him luck for 2012 :wub2:

  11. :lmfao:

But it's quite good.. relaxing and peaceful :naughty:
