Is the topic still hot ? If so, here are mine:
1. No Place In Heaven
2. Hurts
3. Porcelain
(ps. Thank you France for my Deluxe CD )
-
I love this song too, eventually.. ( I didn`t like it after first ( 2nd, 3rd... etc) listening), but now I do.
It reminds me of Rain - not in a musical similarity way, it is rather atmosphere and sense that are same, the feeling of defencelessness and fragility.
(this time I `m really happy with the bonus tracks )
-
The only positive aspect of this all - is Mika seeing support of his fans, nothing new though. Apart from this the incident should be forgotten and buried in depths of Twitter....

Thank you!!! For some reason my quote doesn't include the names. Anyone knows the writer behind NPIH? And how much I love seeing Teemu Brunila there, that tiny connection to my country (doesn't happen often!).
No Place In Heaven: MIKA, Clarence Coffe Jr & Rob Wells

This song is my fav so far. I think it`s a grand piano - that`s why it sounds so perfect and complete. Apart from all personal connotations the song is just a pure jewel, musically.

Hi there!
Both Deluxe and Standard versions are available in Google Play Russia on Monday 15th, June. I pre-ordered my copy, but I`ll go to a store to BUY it !
-
He said it here,during the interview,around 21:10 : http://www.europe1.fr/mediacenter/emissions/sortez-du-cadre/sons/sortez-du-cadre-mika-leila-bekhti-selah-sue-charlize-theron-2419211 .
He said that Freddie is one of his heroes, and that the songs is talking about all the people who died from AIDS,especially back in '80s and '90s.
Thank you Chris, :thumb_yello:I couldn`t find this particular piece.

Can anyone give me a link where Mika himself says the song is an ode to Freddie Mercury , or a part of an interview ? Seems that Music-News is not a direct speech...
Thanks in advance.

Just heard the song (probably illegally, cos I want to wait to order the hard copy of the album), and although it's so sad, it made me so happy- especially with the 'happy ending'-style ending! Finally another MIKA song that I actually like!
Yes, the song sounds like it could be about Freddie when he discovered the gay scene with unfortunate mistiming given the HIV/AIDS epidemic. But then again, MIKA has said in the past that he's actually not a particular fan of Mercury or Queen (unlike me!) .
:wub2:
Looking forward to some of the other songs now!
Hi. That`s what I think too. Mika dissociated himself from Freddie and a fact he`s a Queen fan so many times , that I hardly believe he decided to make an ode to F. Mercury. Unless someone else convinced him:naughty: (Gimme a proof !)
The thing I really don`t get about Last Party - is resemblance to Adele`s Someone Like You, especially a piano prelude. Am I the only one who feels so?

I think you don't understand what I meant to say? I mean that I don't think this will be his last album! Even if he stops making the kind of music he is making right now (English pop music) (and I don't think he is going to stop doing that! but if), I think he would start making different music, like French chansons. But I don't think at all that he would stop making music after this album.
I got it, I got it))) Making French album ( not English) - that what sounds pessimistic to me, for sure. I`m afraid it won`t get any success throughout English speaking countries, Eastern Europe and Asia. I think globally:wink2:
-
This scared me
Thought he announced the album release date while I was sleeping..
I'm not wondering if it will be his last at all, I don't expect that.. I think that there'll be a better chance that he is going to release a full French chanson album next, than no album ever again.
That sounds pessimistic(( I `ve just come to read the news on the 4th album, but I expected them to be more sunny
-
And that is because, he is never doing anything anywhere else, so how can other countries give him attention or opportunities, when he doesn't even give a monkey's about anything but reality tv in these 2 countries. And while ever that's happening, nothing is going to change.
It just doesn't make sense to me, that he would write his life story in a language that he has only just learnt, but that's his decision, and money talks yet again:wink2:
And it would have a very limited audience too:aah:

These pics are so... theatrical, in a good meaning. What if Mr Terrible Director is Polanski ( for a French episode) or Tarantino ( for the western part)
Oh ,stupid suggestion, I know.
I just wanted to say that this visual realization differs greatly from what I fancy.... Ok, lets wait and see.
-
Totally agree - I think he already shows that he intends to do more this time - the lyric vid. is smart, now I can sing along in the right way, soo funny! And I'm really excited about the real vid. shot in Spain - I'm very sure MIKA has his plan, and hopefully also money now, because of his TV jobs - I do wish him good luck, and hope that BBB it will be a huge success!!
Love,love
me
Do you think ? I have a deja vu feeling.... BBB reminds me of Elle Me Dit - the one issued in summer, as a dance radio hit, prior to the album. So, I think Mika is making same steps now with BBB. As to the song - I think it`s less debatable than EMD (sorry).
-
Me too! But how can it be out in the Autumn? I don't see how it could be out this year.
I hope he doesn't do The Voice France, next year. He needs that time for promoting the album and performing again. Otherwise he might as well not bother releasing the album as it won't sell to save it's life, outside of France and Italy.
it looks like he doesn`t bother releasing the album. At all. Promises promises.
Mika how you`re doing this?? - NO MAN on Earth can keep me waiting for that long.
-
I drop in once a month here and what do I see!
Why oh why Mika :hair:
<back to "waiting' mode>

Can I say "We won" if I'm a part owner of the team? (our football team, the Green Bay Packers is a publicly owned team, and husband, both kids and I each have one share of stock in the team)
Anyway, about Mika's role in Kendji's victory on The Voice-I don't think that he was fully responsibe, but I do think he had a role in the victory. For one thing, like Catherine mentioned, he's there because Mika liked him enough to choose him. Then you've got the fans who are going to vote for Mika's candidate, no matter who they are. My spoken French is awful, but the judges choose the songs that the talents sing, right? I thought throughout the season that Mika had a real talent for picking songs that really suited his singers. I'm sure that helped Kendji's chances. And as far as whether the advice and teaching of the coaches actually helps the singers, I say yes. For someone like me, who can't sing to save her life, no amount of coaching would help me, but for someone like Kendji, who already is a good singer with experience, I'm sure a good coach like Mika could really help him out.
And how do I know that he's a good coach if I can't understand French? Good question, but I just do, ok?
Yes, Mika has done a lot of work to invest his efforts into someone else`s talent. For me, that`s where a problem lies. I`m sorry to repeat it again and again for 44773893th time(((
But as I see, this thread keeps our discussion within the bounds, at least. So maybe new mfcers will read it and will understand us, oldies, better.

Looks like something that is designed for kids pj"s
They don't get any better, if he's going down this route of wearing designer clothes, at least make them classy!
Indeed !
The suits Mika was wearing at Swatch events were much better, imho.

Any news on its health?

I think things have been better on Twitter recently.
As for on here. I've been upset a few times recently. Not from any kind of bullying, just by people who ought to know me by now, not seeming to know me at all.
On here, we can only really know each other by our posts. So if, as I have been, someone who has tried to be kind, wise and reasonable on here, I get upset if people think that, because I don't agree with something, I'm crying conspiracy, or something like that.
One person, a few months ago, thought I was getting at her personally because I had an opposing point of view. She said something about "maybe it's not shugar-coated enough for you." I hadn't actually picked on her personally! I would never do that. It upset me, because I had considered her a friend.
I think, sometimes the debates get a bit heated, especially concerning the career choices of Mika. But I, for one, have decided to stay away from those discussions in future. Everyone knows my opinion, I don't have to mention it again, so I'm out of it. That's best for everyone to do really, imo.
I'm an honest person, and if I need to stick up for myself, then I do that. I haven't experienced bullying on the site, just some heated discussions.
Well, I don`t have much time now to get to MFC, but when I found a minute -I saw some uneasy news again:sneaky2:
Marilyn, I hope you`ll continue to write posts here regardless someone`s angry words. Your opininon is always so clever and balanced, believe me. I`m an honest person too, and I know exactly that so many people can`t take it. But I tell you - there`s nothing shameful in saying what you think, in case your way of speaking doesn`t insult or hurt people. I `ve never noticed rude\ incompetent words in your posts.
So please stay tuned!
And I believe that discussions on Mika`s career will never stop here and will remain an important part of the forum, whether we like it or not.

What does a girl gotta do to be a part of this Queeniac thread?
Is anyone else going to see Queen + Adam Lambert on the current tour?
I'm going to the opening show in Chicago.
You`re very lucky , indeed! I saw them performing with Adam in 2012 in Moscow. Oh happy days .....
I also was at Brian May-Kerry Ellis concert in Moscow, on March 16, so I`ve already got my piece of happiness this year:naughty:
I will surely follow the news on Queen\ Lambert US tour !
I hope you`ll write a report Nicola.

I missed his presence at mfc when I joined... But I heard many warm words about David. So sad to be back here for such reason...I wish all mfc-ers to stay safe and remember other members with kindness.
